SGA speaks on MVP talks & Michael Jordan comparisons 🗣️ ‘It’s an HONOR’ | NBA on ESPN

Thanks guys Shay you guys are this team where you’re so young but yet you’re so great this season we don’t see that all the time you have a game like tonight where you guys jump out big you they punch back and then you end up finally

Winning the game what does that say what kind of lessons do you guys learn from these games nothing we don’t already know um it’s a long 48 minutes teams are so talented and shoot the ball so well with a three-pointer so you’re you’re never out of a game and you’re never the

Game’s never over until the clock is 0o so we know that teams are going to make their runs uh we just got to stay resilient stick to our game plan as much as we can um and we did so enough tonight to get a w how much better can

You guys actually be considering you’re the one seed right now um we can get a lot better um we kind of let go of it the handle a little bit tonight um kind of started playing the scoreboard we were up big uh weren’t getting stops and weren’t getting good possessions

Offensively but uh there’s always room for improvement especially when we’re so young uh learning on the Fly uh we know that and we try to get better every day and lastly I’m not trying to make the MVP case for you but I did see the numbers that you’ve put up this season

And there are numbers that rival a guy named Michael Jordan in his MVP Seasons how does that feel when you hear that stuff um it’s an honor uh to be in those conversations if I’m even in them uh it’s why you you play the game and what

You dream about as a kid so it’s an honor um obviously I have a long way to go before I get to even be in the same conversation as him but it’s an honor Shay congratulations and thank you thank you you have a good night guys back to you [Applause] [Applause] is

  1. Shai is leading an inexperienced team to the first seed in the west. He also has incredible stats to back it up. This man is the MVP. He is cooking every single night.

  2. Relax on the MJ talk. The numbers MJ had is when there was actually defense. Shai is dangerously good, but come on…don't compare numbers.

  3. The reason I easily choose SGA for MVP is based off the NBA's standards and track record…They typically like to reward a young up and coming superstar on a breakout team, sont tend to give it to the same old head over and over. So by that standard and pattern I'd say SGA eadily deserves it. Especially when you consider that Denver isn't doing anything we didn't expected…To where as OKC is absolutely dismantling expectations. 42-18 for an average age of 23is crazy.

  4. He's good & all that….but let 'em wind up playing the wrong team in the 1st or 2nd round…he'll be going home…..stop with the MJ ish…he's SGA

  5. There’s defense though when Michael Jordan was putting up his stats. Now you lay a finger on anyone it’s an automatic 2 freethrows.
