Because we haven’t proved anything yet. This team won’t get any real tangible respect until they start winning in the postseason. It is what it is..

Because Vegas odds aren’t set by some smartypants in a back room who is watching all the games, they’re responses to fans to make sure the house makes money. Fans think the Nuggets, Clippers, Suns, and OKC are more likely to win the WC finals for a lot of reasons, probably: bias towards old stars, media stuff, more fans in LA than in MN, more people bet in LA/Phoenix/Denver than MN (??? no idea) but it’s definitely not “hate from Vegas.”

make the bet then lol

Because the Wolves haven’t done anything collectively in the playoffs yet, Vegas and bettors know when the game is on the line late in games, the ball will be in the hands of 22 year old that hasn’t done anything in the playoffs.

I mean it has nothing to do with if we actually should be favored. The odds are based on an algorithm that sets it based on the money coming in on all the teams, so the odds continuously shift so the house has the best odds of making as much money as possible. This has nothing to do with if we should/shouldn’t make it that far. More money is coming in on those other clubs, so their odds are better.

Does this essentially translate into ‘the Wolves have a 10% chance to win the West?’
I don’t gamble but if that’s the case I might be willing to make an exception

I feel like Vegas knows that teams with an elite scorer down the stretch will do well in the playoffs. More proven guys in the playoffs and have shown they can perform will have the edge. KD, Booker, Kawhi, Murray and Jokic have all shown they can perform at the highest level on a playoff stage. ANT and SGA haven’t shown that yet

Uuuuh, 1 division title in 35 years might have something to do with it.

Because betting activity is a major factor in how odds like this are set. We should have this explanation pinned in the sub at this point. People aren’t betting on the Wolves to win as much as people are betting on these other teams. Simple as.

Check the history of this franchise and get back to me. If you are still offended then put up a couple hundo with those odds.

Vegas knows the history of Minnesota sports.

We haven’t been playing well recently.
When was the last time we beat a playoff team? Clippers on February 12? Almost a month ago.
We have taken a step back since the all-star break. I was actually expecting us to take a leap forward and be improved in particular on the offensive side of the ball, but we’ve actually regressed even more there.
4-3 since the all-star break with losses to strong playoff teams.
It truly pains me to write this, but I like to be real about our prospects. If we cannot figure out a way to score in the clutch, and figure it out SOON, we’re fucked. Imagine if we draw the Lakers in rd 1, nightmare fuel.

Cause the NBA doesn’t want a championship in Minnesota and Vegas knows that.
