  1. Risacher pretty easily.

I know Sarr is the popular answer here, but I just can’t get behind using the first overall on that kind of player archetype.

Seems like an Ayton situation again.

  2. Migosslav

I dont know why but I really fuck with zvonomir ivsic, he’s protected to go further down the draft but I think he’d be a great fit. Another big strong body that get stretch the floor but also rebound

Either of the two Frenchmen, Sarr or Risacher with Cody Williams as a dark horse candidate

One of Risacher/Sarr, depending on how they look in the combine.

Risacher has a high floor as a defensive forward who can shoot. His ceiling might not be super high but he’s a great plug in at the 3/4 to take the defensive load off of Scottie.

Sarr often gets a lot of comparisons to Claxton but I think his passing is slightly underrated and he can fit in at the 4 if one wants to field a larger lineup. Either way, he’s a great option to eventually replace Poeltl or, depending on how he performs as a rookie, make it easier to trade Jakob in the next season or two.

I’d also be open to trading down to 2nd/3rd depending on what team ends up there and what they’d be willing to part with

  5. Nikola Topic. Highly skilled, can self-create, has good size. We don’t really have anyone that can break down a D in a set defense except Scottie trying to muscle his way in, Topic can probably provide that something extra to push this team over the hump

Risacher is truly the best choice. I’ve had him #1 since around November and my opinion has only reinforced.

My opinion is not consensus but I think there is an argument for Reed Sheppard, Rob Dillingham, and that’s about it.

Sarr may not even be the best C to come from this draft. He might not be a better NBA player than Clingan. Like I would bet him to have the better career, but it’s definitely not a sure thing.

Cody williams is too raw to go #1. He doesn’t really have any ball skills.

Topic is an archetype I just don’t believe in. I don’t think a non-shooting guard can become a league average guard in a modern NBA.

You probably take Sarr if you stay at 1, but I’d look at trading down a couple spots and taking Reed Sheppard. In a class as weak as this I think it would make sense to take a guy with little to no weaknesses even if his perceived ceiling is lower. Realistic path to top 50 compared to a lot of other guys at the top of this class.

  8. We can’t move up 6 spots. Our pick is only too 6 protected.

    Alex Sarr

He’s an Evan Mobley esc. player with more offensive upside, he’s already a better offensive prospect than Mobley was coming out of college and he’s only 18…the kid has a very high ceiling IMO and although he might never reach that ceiling I think he’s at worst an Evan Mobley type who can rim protect and give you 16/10/3, but I genuinely believe he can be a Star…the Kid is 18, has all the length and athletic ability in the world and he’s smart, that’s a great foundation to work with

In a draft where there’s no sure-fire #1 pick and there’s not a lot of top-end talent, you either take a high-floor, low-ceiling player who’s likely going to be a high-level role player OR you go with a very raw player with enormous upside (boom or bust) and Sarr is the raw player with enormous upside and he seems like a Masai and Bobby type pick

This draft is actually gonna be so interesting opposed to last year. Like the top 10 guys are not locked in at all. There’s no clear #1 pick and should be fun to watch.

  11. cashmcnash

I think Rissacher is the best fit, but I think either way, fans are going to need to lower their expectations because this is not a typical draft.

The target for these guys (Rissacher and Sarr) is probably good, complementary starter – not fellow star to pair with Scottie.

While it’s not impossible they land a star, it feels way less likely than in normal draft years.

  12. Beneficial-Luck-5078

I’d trade it for Ingrim+Dyson Daniels

  13. Party_Wolf5197

Risacher 100%. If not him than Cody Williams

  14. Trade it to set yourself up for Cooper Flagg but in a serious note, Masai gonna take the longest guy who’s versatile.

Topic would be nice but hard to think he’s #1 pick material

  15. If these guys get #1 they should explore moving it. The only thing that would give me pause is the fact that a pick is going to be cheaper than whoever you get back BUT if it’s a young guy on a rookie scale and future picks it would make sense.

Before anyone asks the “why would another team do this….?” question, it would be because of the cap implications of their current roster or to reshape a young team that hasn’t worked (looking at you Detroit).
