At least he wasn’t yelling or picking on little things that really aren’t too big of a deal in this video. I’m glad someone is talking about the drop coverage because it’s crazy when they’re having guys go over on the screens to run off the three it lets the guy have an open lane to the hoop every single time. Playing this deep drop the opponent doesn’t even have to make a counter move they just immediately get downhill causing help and rotations or easy rebounds since AD usually has to go to contest. It’s crazy they play this drop vs pretty much everyone. The nuggets kill them because Jamal just gets to the mid post/mid range where he can operate or dish it to jokic who can go to work getting downhill and find the lob or weak side shooter. Same with the kings since they have monk and fox who are both dangerous off the bounce. I’d think it’d be better to have guys stay level with the screener and drop from there so when guys go over you can actually slow the other guy down instead of them picking up steam making it hard for the lakers to recover and contest.
I get the rebounding aspect since the team is terrible at rebounding except for AD and he’s the only rim protector so they want him in the paint but it leaves both AD and whoever is getting screened in a terrible position.
It just opens up so many problems it seems since guys have to also help down in the paint on the drive and leave shooters which the lakers seem to get killed at nightly and are 27th in opponent 3p fga i think.

First of all, this video is beautiful.
Secondly, If ham were the coach of a peak Duke team, he’d go 0-30 against bottom feeder NAIA/D3 schools. He doesn’t know jack shit about the game, not enough to actually teach anything of value. He’s limited to ymca bare basic ‘tactics.’ I really don’t think he understands the game outside of what you might teach a 8 year old at a shitty summer camp.

Ya this video kinda did it for me. I use to sorta push back on just blaming ham, because I feel like losing is a entire team thing and you can’t just put it in one guy, but ya now I see, it really mostly is just one guy…Darvin ham…he’s kinda fucking us raw right now *pause* lakers players effort could be better but ya I get it now, he’s absolutely trash with his schemes. It’s like his offense and defense strategy are to just play rec pick-up style

the Lakers are so half assed. how are you getting out of the western conference when there are 2 teams that are sonning you every time you meet. what is the point of this season if you don’t have a strategy against the Kings and the Nuggets? on top of horribly losing to shit teams. Ham is not the guy. he brings nothing. You have Lebron and AD, just focus on defense, that is how Vogel won a ring.
