Chauncey Billups Postgame Interview | Portland Trail Blazers 107, Houston Rockets 123
Joha how do you how do you teach the young guys or what do you teach the young guys when they go to turn the water off on handt like that what what are the things you kind of focus on dial in on when they they junk it up like that and force
Youo them to just get into that rotation over and over again yeah the biggest thing um is you try to convince them to just be confident you know um and be aggressive you know cuz the only way you can alleviate some of that pressure and some of those you know
Little junk defenses is to make some shots and make some plays um the worst thing you could do is you know continue to keep looking for ant when he throws it out to you and you trying to go back to him that’s the worst thing you could do you know
Um so the only way to alleviate that you know a lot of times is to is to make plays you know make some shots and make plays we have sets that we go to to try to get certain looks you know certain things and um sometimes it looks good and
Sometimes it doesn’t most of those young guys have never been in those positions what would you say the the difference between the first half and the second half was I thought we stopped sharing the ball we stopped moving the ball as much um but I get them some
Credit they came out and they were very physical in that third quarter um so they took us out of a lot of things um which I’m sure you know um was what they intended to do and uh you know so credit to them but uh you know we we we talked
About that’s what they was going to try to do and we we didn’t we didn’t have enough resistance and we didn’t have enough Poise so they took us out of it got us out of rhythm um and we just we we stopped sharing it you know um we
Shared it so nice in the first half and then we attacked the paint they did a good job of closing the paint down and we were just making simple kick passes and we we made shots you know so that was really the biggest difference I thought obviously the pass break points
Is you know that’s that’s tough there you know it’s tough to give that that of 37 fast break points and they scored 27 points off of our turnovers it’s just pretty tough to absorb that on on the light ball turnovers how much of that is is them being aggressive in the passing
Lanes as opposed to not make it necessarily the smartest of the Christmas reads and passes um I always like to credit the defense on that you know um we we we got to be better we just really have to be better and read that we know you playing
Against a team that likes to jump in the passing Lanes you got to understand and know that you know so I like to get a defense to credit on that they did a really good job uh jumping in those passing lanes and you know a lot of our
Guys they were just a step ahead of us you know um in some of those reads A lot of times and again like we a lot of our youngers they haven’t seen that before you know but they weren’t the only ones tur it over you know some of our vets were doing the

Coach Billups offense is flawed, allowing the Rockets to scream down court for wicked slams. Fans in Portland aren't allowed to criticize anything, so Blazer fans had to eat 30 Houston power dunks, and enjoy every minute it.
Basically a G league team at this point
