Guys I need to take a deep breath I need a paper bag to breathe into what what an unbelievable finish Lakers win 123 to 12 122 excuse me uh so many big moments DLo has to be where you start this conversation nine threes 44 points his first 40-point game since 2019 defish

Keep in mind LeBron did not play tonight ankle injury and AD we got to talk about this later in the show uh left shoulder it appeared he injured it at towards the end of the third quarter really kind of dragging it around in that fourth quarter had only two points and two

Rebounds didn’t matter Lakers a huge win against a second place team in the East def fish yeah it was a quality win I mean the the Bucks have been playing as good as basketball as anybody else in the league they they’ve played well coming out of the All-Star break

Warriors maybe without step for a couple games with the ankle injury so the Lakers can maybe flip it and go from 10 to nine at least and then continue to work their way up in the western standings yeah Lakers now half a game ahead of Golden State they are currently

A ninth in the west and not too far out of eighth place about a game out of eighth place big game yeah and you know what I’d like to see is as big a game as the Sacramento game was it was a disappointing let down to be able to

Bounce back and realize that hey you know we might not be moving up like we want we may be disappointed losing at home but we’re going to bounce back without LeBron and we still are in this uh if we have to be in the ninth or 10th

Spot so be it we’re in it Miami proved last year I believe that you could come from a long way and still get there so I think you know if they just stay focused they know they’re better than what their record is so I just thought tonight was

A good Collective effort it was D’s team tonight he ran that team well got everybody involved but I also thought the energy of Hayes uh and also the bench was a little bit more productive tonight with with Prince so I I I just think it was a good victory and

Something they can they can build on Spencer Den WI a absolutely huge block shot in the closing seconds he’s here with Mike trudell all right Spencer uh for La kid this environment being able to make a play like that had to be some fun for you what was going through your mind in

The final seconds oh man honestly uh I was on pack hon the inbounder uh you know D did a great job kind of talking from the bench on what their play might be uh we wanted to get uh Dame going right uh cuz the step back to the left

Is lethal and they just tried to play as good defense as possible that play specifically though being able to get your hand on the ball not fouling after DLo did what he did on the other end just the emotional swings of that fourth quarter to be able to

Make the play how’s it feel feels amazing I mean obviously we’re in a playoff hunt right now we know every win matters uh so just trying to step up especially in a start without Brun uh and you know my role here is very utility very defensive oriented and so

To be able to uh you know make that type of play uh you know in my role is is fun yeah you’ve been a high usage offensive player for a lot of your career we know you can score you can make plays for others but the defensive plus minus has

Been up with plays like that since you’ve come here what did it take for you to embrace that kind of role and just find a way to impact winning uh just understanding the team that I’m coming to you know we we already had a set in stone team I wasn’t trade uh you

Know I came in fit a little row welcome to La my boy uh I ain’t going to lie scoring the ball is fun high usage offense is fun but you know you got to be able to adapt and and you know we’re trying to win Championship so I got to

Play the role that that I’m giv last one for you DLo just came over and said hello said welcome to La uh what did you see from him tonight oh man he’s a big time offensive guy uh you know when he gets hot especially from three uh he’s

One of the most Unstoppable offensive forces in the league uh you know he’s playing a lot of confidence and and feels really comfortable right now it’s nice to see go enjoy man thank you boss James got to feel good for Spencer and did witty uh signed by the Lakers

Less than a month ago picked him up after he was cut uh this is his La moment he went to Taft High School in the valley then he left the state to go to Colorado bounced around the league a little bit I give Darin ham credit after

Den wtti was acquired by the Lakers and and Darvin talked about him for the first time he said wait till you see his defense he’s been playing a lot of really good on ball defense what a time to show it I mean that block shot uh

Sure looked like Dame was going to you know get ready for the game winner potentially and spener didn’t W he said no thanks yeah what a what a nice pickup yeah two things one Lillard trying to take that charge on D’Angelo with the Bucks up four not smart defensively in

Terms of a veteran guy understanding the situation just give up too on the other end I thought Spencer Den witty during his interview the game plan discipline of understanding in an isolation situation the Tendencies of the player you’re guarding and understanding that Daman Lillard going to his right hand is

It’s a more predictable defensive play in terms of being able to contest that shot at the end compared to allowing him to get left so he shaded his left hand to almost invite him to drive right so that then on the pullup jumper he he’d have a better chance of contesting

Compared to if he got left where he could get this the step back and get the separation those are the little marginal things that decide games it’s not that you know the guy is just that much better than you every time you have to really things in order to close out

Games and congrats to Spencer and and and to the guys for finishing it off James I want to go back to DLo with you I know D fish talked about him a little bit this is a guy who lost his starting job back in December about three weeks

He had to come off the bench one of those weeks he was injured and he gives that time a lot of credit because he got to watch see where he was needed in the offense see what spots he could hit from in the offense ever since then he got a

Starting job back Midway through January he has been on an unbelievable role tied his career high in three tonight with nine took 12 threes make nine of them is that is that pretty good James yeah that’s uh that’s exceptional BRZ I mean uh you know sometimes in in this league

It you know players have to reset sometimes you have to you know you can play well then all of a sudden you have to you know review your game maybe deviate add something and I think he’s he’s been able to do that he’s been able to balance out mentally what he needs to

Do in order to improve and sustain it right now he’s in a good place where he’s playing probably the best basketball of his career consistently on both hands yeah and to me what comes up is like how we make excuses for things that’s what comes to mind for me

Because like D’Angelo playing this way is just him making the decision to play this way the time out with the injury the reset mentally of saying you know what I love this game I miss being out there with these guys when I get a chance to get back out

There I’m not going to be as hesitant I’m not going to always defer to LeBron and AD before I check in with myself I’m going to be aggressive and be authentically who I am as a player and that’s an offensive-minded guy but that’s just a decision to go do that

Just make a decision to go out and do what you’re capable of doing and he deserves 1,000% of all the credit and it’s always good to see that from a player yeah words to live by right there and let’s take a look at the standings

Right now you guys ready for a log Jam towards the bottom of the standings Lakers are half the game ahead of Golden State in ninth place if you can control your destiny you’ll fall in where you’re supposed to be you can’t control what other teams are doing you just have to

Continue to play the type of basketball that they’re playing obviously they’re going to be playing attention to the standards as they try to move up but if they just continue to play like they played against Milwaukee and worry about that only and let the standers take care

Of themselves they’ll be okay yeah I mean the with the season series going to the Kings which why that one of the reasons why that loss was so devastating you almost have to like unless the Kings sustain some injuries or something really bad happens let’s say the kings

Are going to stay in seven but the Mavericks have started to dip uh they’ve lost some games recently got got a good win against the Heat recently but uh you can catch the Mavericks only being a game and a half back of them at the moment the Warriors have the easiest

Remaining schedule in the league I believe in terms of strength of schedule of their opponents Steph being out still gives you some room so assuming you know you’re going to be in nine at this point you continue to play well and you have the chance to get to

Eight you’re still going to be in the same situation of you have to win games period so it goes all the way back to James’s point do not overthink this just focus on the things that you can control control the controllables which is your your performance your game your defense

Your understanding of pushing the guy right instead of letting him get left and and that’s how you stack wins and keep in mind the Lakers in the throws of a very tough part of the schedule six of the next seven against teams above 500 good news is a lot of those games are

Right here in La so if they can just keep getting the home cooking going uh doesn’t get much easier on Sunday uh the Minnesota Timberwolves are still here uh they’re going to be here in town excuse me that team is still near the top of the standings how you’re talking about a

Team that just lost Carl Anthony towns to miniscus injury but they are still playing tough ball James there is there’s no let up inside is there not at all and uh just because they’re missing one player doesn’t mean they’re going to come in here with the rest of their

Squad Edwards you know is really octane high octane right now but the lickers have something to pull on they’ve beaten some really good teams they cannot you know have you know the basic things you can’t give up a lot of offensive rebounds things of that nature but with

Towns out there’s not opportunity to uh to to take advantage of that and that’s what they have to do all right let’s hear from Darin ham speaking with Mike in the media Darin Russell had 21 points in the fourth quarter I think out of the 26 or

27 what did you see in him and and what what were the types of sets that you wanted to get to and and how much was he able to do to execute within those you know just just targeting you know we have a uh set point rub basically we’re

Doing a lot of it out of horns there’s a lot of different varieties the guys did a good job of mixing up things where he hit AR on the back door um one time you know he our pop one time we went over the top of the secondary

Screener but d That’s DLo man just playmaking constantly thinking the game um he kept his word when I told him to take over the game I told him in the first half stay aggressive I need you to be aggressive all night and he did that and we all the communication was said

Such a high level man just everybody uh communicating all the guys that played everybody that you know maybe didn’t play guys that are on the inactive list everybody just engaged the energy on the on the bench was Supreme and so uh that’s that’s a hell of a ball Club over

There you know Championship caliber team through and through and uh it’s great to get this bounceback win against a team like that after what happened here on uh Wednesday D wy’s been a Creator a high usage guy for a lot of his career he said he’s come here and really try to

Embrace a role would that be typified by that last play there on absolutely absolutely him cam all those guys had a tough matchup you know trying to guard Dame trying to guard uh Giannis and you know they got Shooters everywhere and so uh to be able to stay stay of course uh

Ruy you know struggling a little bit offensively makes a huge three-point shot for us uh ad you know um tweaks his shoulder whatever um and he just pushes through um it was it was phenomenal great great team win you uh you dealer put you in a

Position I think to go up five with I know four and a half minutes ago or somewhere around there the Bucks stormed back to take the lead um you know just a week ago we saw Denver year kind of in that moment and then Denver pushes ahead

Like what character did you guys show in that moment I just think God is continuing um to have a next play mentality you know not you know be befuddled by what happened and how did they score and and you know you have to be aware but if you overly concern

Yourself with that type of deal it could bleed into the next possession so we recalibrated and and went to see how we can attack them on our offensive end and try to get you know chew away at the the lead that once they took it over so it’s

Just guys stand focused man I told him we got to avoid all the frustration we need to focus like when things face adversity you can’t um belabor the problem you just got to again buckle down Focus refocus whatever you have to do and concentrate on how you can you

Know long as this time on the clock you know there an opportunity to correct things D you mention 8s shoulder do you know what happened to it and is that something he’s being evaluated I think he’s got bumped somebody fight through a screen or something like that you know

He’s being looked at so we’ll see we’ll have a update tomorrow at some point d a kind of a bigger picture look at what happened tonight um if you think back to DLo struggling in December um really when like trade rumors like first started to percolate I I I guess you

Know his name was out there a lot and I have you as someone who’s been around this league a long time have you ever seen someone like handle it the way that he’s some have you ever seen someone like handle it the way that he’s somehow turned his season completely around um

You know in the new year and seemed totally unfaced yeah I mean he he’s been he’s been through that you know what I mean he and I had conversation I won’t go into detail but he and I had conversations about that very thing and you know it’s

A I w’t call it on fortunate but it’s just a reality of our business you know his name is being thrown around because he has value and he’s worth something other teams see that he’s a All-Star player and so you’re going to have all type of things being thrown around and

You know from Secret sources or whatever the case may be but we know like we we extended him and for a reason we wanted him to be a part of what we’re doing here the core group that we brought back and you know until that day comes and

Goes and you see that you know everyone is really being honest and true with you you know you’re going to have that stuff in the air and and you just try to manage it the best you can remain professional um and he did just that you

Know he he submerged himself in his work got back on the court uh worked on his game feverishly uh and then you know got the opportunity to get back in the starting lineup he hadn’t looked back since um that game in Utah I Bri was out

He dropped 39 um and he’s just been balling man and he his leadership has come through his dialogue that he’s having with everybody um the way he’s seeing the game he’s making winning plays I mean his um he he’s been unbelievable and I I told him I told him

In OKC when I took him out of the lineup I he and I talk we sit down have our one-on ones and I just can’t express enough of how I enjoy coaching the kid we asked about this a couple of games ago uh you talked about the limbo

Rate you know I think Dave asked you about just from game to game how do you guys keep that I guess mentality from game to not l a game like last game affect you guys tonight you just got to move on um you know I told the team

Before we had our pregame walk through before we got into milwauke you know we we know what happened here last game and we we’ll get into that as we move toward that team we get to see him again um that’s a beautiful thing about this league you constantly get new

Opportunities um to correct yourself and be on the right side of things so once I said that said it’s a hell of a team we know we got to have be on our PS and q’s and um we went through the game plan walked out on the floor did some

Defensive stuff did some offensive stuff uh guys ready to go um you know unfortunately we we were without Braun but you know he’s been out of the lineup before guys had to step up no one man had to you know obviously DLo finish with 44 points but uh no man no one man

Can carry that load and it was a total team effort uh in terms of off faet of the game rebounding defending playmaking um and obviously DLo showed the low from a scoring standpoint we had guys make big shots and big moments uh to TP you know coming off the bench giving us a

Little bit of a shot in the arm with his scoring and guys just stayed engaged stayed focused Darin as you look at this bounceback game as you termed it against a championship caliber team and then you look at the next couple of games you have against the Timberwolves going up

To Sacramento back here against Golden State how do you talk to the guys with players coming in and out of the lineup about this stretch that you’re in right now and do you view this at all as the playoffs or at least a push for it has started with the seating race being

Where it’s at right now and you all in the play in as it stands absolutely I mean we we we we’ve already already been saying that we you know playoffs already started in terms of us trying to secure a spot or not subject ourselves to two

Play in games you know it and you look you it’s it’s a dual effect because you want you look down the road we can do this as coaches but we also have to stay focused in the moment and and Tackle everything that’s directly in front of

Us um from the games that are coming up you know we look past this game we get smacked we look past Sunday we going to get smacked we look past when we go to sack we going to get smacked we got to just tackle and pour into every each and

Every game um again that’s right in front of us and so the guys know that message whether a guys going out of the lineup coming back in the lineup they know that message they understand that and uh that’s just the way it has to be coach uh congrats on the win obviously

You touched on this with din Wy but tough defensive assignments all night long um focus wise what did you see out of the team defensively to get a few of those really big stops in the last 60 seconds uh just the activity the communication guys knowing you know what

We’re doing everyone coach is talking to players players talking to coaches uh making sure we got the right lineup Out There Our defensive lineup U make sure we secure rebounds and do just the little things just do your work early um it’s a hell of a ball club man they are

Extremely tough um they’re at the top of the food chain for a reason and for us to get a win like this it says a lot about us and what we can be we just have to consist consistently you know um approach each and every game regardless

Of who we’re playing with the same mentality and that’s how you would develop an identity um you have those core things that you do no matter who the opponent is that it’s going to represent you on both sides of the ball and then the spirit the overall Spirit the competitiveness togetherness and

Accountability uh embrace it don’t run from it just embrace it and bring it every day thanks Co thank you uh DLo can you just take us through what you were seeing on that last play where you seem like you’re never get pick and roll between Dame and Brook before you

Made that go ahead floater uh just the tag um we knew we were trying to do what we were trying to get to it look like they fumbled the coverage a little bit um was just trying to be aggressive at um at an earlier time to

Give us time if we missed the shot get a rebound things like that we got it it got to stop huge can you DLo just generally describe the Rhythm that you’ve been in here for now two months and is there anything that you think triggered that I mean I

Said it when I set out um a few games I had like a tailbone injury and something um I mentioned to you Dave uh just recognizing you know the pockets that I could be more aggressive and and and be efficient in and and I saw it and attacked as soon as I came

Back it’s the NBA so like every position is stacked to some degree but um you know playing point guard guard some of the best talent in the league is at that position what does it mean for you to to go up head-to-head with someone like Dame lard and all his credentials and

And show out it’s never head to head for me um I always try to make the the play that I know I can make I never take that oneon-one kind of battle I never take that return game oh you’re going back home let’s have a big game into I never

Do that um I just try to attack with the games allowing me to attack and U be be be be sure in what I’m trying to do if it’s passing or if it’s scoring just be be decisive D’Angelo you’ve had a a few of these moments now in this building this

Year you know just rallying the crowd impacting winning after what you did from a scoring standpoint you saw Spencer get the block could you kind of relate to how he was feeling like his first moment here um kid from here and then what did you see he’s only going to

Continue to get comfortable um I know what he’s capable of um everybody here is going to be quick to judge him for not putting up numbers and all of that but when you watch him he does all the little things he’s super versatile I mean it’s a reason why all the winning

Teams have had a piece of them and and and want to use them and utilize them um here his role may be a little different but he’s more than capable of doing everything for us to win so question de we’ve talked about it a lot since really December just the way you were

Able to handle the the rumors and stuff like that um have you always been the kind of person who sort of defined your own value um as a player didn’t need others to I guess validate it um uh I mean yeah with my with my craft with my talent um

On the floor you know I’ve always felt like I was capable of doing things um getting hot makes makes a little more excitement through exciting throughout a game uh off the floor obviously yall know what I’ve been through um public ciliation has done nothing but molded me

Into the killer that y’all see today and um I I never I never lack confidence I never fear confrontation I want all the smoke I want to talk about it let’s let’s high IQ Players let’s get in the room and talk about it I just feel confident what I bring to the basketball

Game um if it’s film if it’s watching it helping young players I just know what I bring to the table so whatever room I walk in I’m I’m confident last one hey dowlo few more Jonathan Williams with uh with views and celebration of and great game by the way but in celebration of

International Women’s Day what role has your mom played in your basketball life and how has she kept you anchored in your basketball Journey yeah yeah Reeves my boy what time we playing tomorrow uh you all right all right we’ll figur it out uh my mom’s been my motivation uh my

Whole career to be honest um um I know my mom’s been through you know um growing up it was tough for me you know um I don’t really talk about it I don’t really open up about my family and my experiences and things like that but I

Know what my mom’s been through to to help raise me and my brothers and um I know what my dad’s been through to help raise me and my brothers so it’s national women’s day but every day is that you know my family and who I who I

The women that I all right my circle for sure y um obviously big shot to ice the game tonight you had you’ve had a few as as a Laker it’s obviously the ice in my veins moment and the one against the wolves um where where does this one rank tonight

Against against some of those past shots this game or shots floater uh I just think that was you hit a three it’s a little more exciting you know um with with the time on the clock it was still a lot of game left a lot of opportunity

For them to win so I I don’t like to ice in my veins and we lose I don’t like to waste it so I like to do it when I know the game seal that’s why you haven’t really seen me doing it um we celebrate

The shot with the with that uh that move but you don’t see me just doing that um after we get a stop or something or hit a shot like I like to kind of seal the game uh how much more significant is it that you guys got the win and then also

What would be kind of just your message to Laker fans because that’s saw you kind of really interacting tonight with the crowd and uh getting it going uh I think it’s huge for us to get this win obviously the standings are close and tight and all that but as a group we’re

Trying to get healthy um and that’s the hardest thing for us so for us to scrape winds with the groups that we have out there um not a lot of chemistry with some of those units but we figure it out and everybody’s stepping up making plays

For the Lakers fans I know how they are in this Arena I know you know they’re ready to explode at any moment um they go through hell to get here every day and be as loud as they can be and cheer for us do good games or bad games they I

Know what they I know what it takes so anytime I kind of feel that momentum I like to get them going you know if I can get a little crowd P wave it whatever um interact with fans after the games giving out shoes got a Q&A coming up

Right now after so I’m a man of the people I enjoy the fans and they support me so yep Dan left it’s going to be a good day can I Dave no no Dave you’re good Austin in your time here you’ve been a part of moments like this and created

Moments whether it’s hitting a shot late or making a play playoffs included when when you’re watching it happened for Russell to hit that shot or to do what he did in the fourth or did w he to make that block like how are you relating to

What that feels like as a player and what did you think of tonight’s action man um you know in those moments it’s just it’s pure joy uh regardless if it’s me like you said DLo I remember when Brian made the layup uh in the Memphis series

I think it was game four I jokingly afterwards not really jokingly like told him was like that was one of my like most joyful moments I had nothing to do I was just standing out there but same thing with tonight uh just seeing DLo take over the game uh I constantly kept

Telling him in timeouts like take us home like I could see the way that he was you know um presenting himself and the way that was playing the feel that he had you know the always the um confidence that he plays with you know it was one of those games where you know

Ad in the fourth quarter was playing through you know some you know uh uncomfort um in his left arm and DLo just stood stepped up and won us the game and then obviously was Spence with that defensive possession you know it’s it’s a really really hard task to keep

Dame in front of you uh yet Al let alone the block his shot uh you know not many people do that so you know Big Time play that last off possession just like a clear yeah it was just nice for Dame and just thought process on going there

Not maybe bringing up someone else not a lot of time uh he wanted a quick action so he’s pretty good one-on-one just you know give d w Credit Credit did a great job uh defensively that last possession againsts Russell I don’t know if there a broken coverage look like broke sure if

You should switch yeah it wasn’t a switch we wanted them to come up uh to try to take the ball out of Russell’s hands but um you know the switch is what got us we knew they were going to do something to try to get Dame on them and

I could have had Pat B someone on the floor at that time uh if they had missed we we wanted to be able to push the ball up the floor and and spread it so they would have to foul us so uh but give them credit I thought the biggest play

For them was the three-point play uh that that one that was a Crusher so the thought process know have that for a d there was just if if if you miss and it’s a loose ball and you want Dame on the floor to get fouled you know so um

D’Angelo season High 44 I mean the threes were one thing obviously he was finding a way then yeah so did did you like the way you ran off the line a little bit to kind of force those shoulders through you know you live with with contested toos you know um he he

Made them uh but you would rather have that than the other shots so um I’ll live with that I still want to watch it like first half I think they were shooting almost 60% so I didn’t think we had a great defensive night tonight I thought in the first half they killed us

On their Rose and then that should have been covered we usually have a low man there and we didn’t tonight so uh the second half I have to watch um I I guess along that in the first half 40 Point second quarter again which sort of turns

Things that was I think golden state was a 40 Point first quarter kind of what was there no again I think it’s both ends though I think it’s uh a lot of it is defense and then again we go in these stretches we did in the third quarter

Again uh these bad offensive stretches as well so they get out in transition and get Buckets as well so I think it’s both it’s not just one just the execution overall the stret especially what did you like you didn’t like probably three out of five of our

Plays are really good um and that’s including the last one with we’ll live with that all day like Dame closest games have no issues with that uh but we did come out of a timeout and and mess one up and so what we’re trying to teach our guys like you can’t waste

Possessions in the NBA game um and I it’s all more more about playoffs that’s all I talk about like regular season you can get away with it you know um the playoffs you come up I called it time I think with 306 and we didn’t execute the

Play um we turned it over and they scored those are things that Chang games for us so those are the things we have to get better other things I thought we did pretty well I thought um defensively we still have to get better I say defensively in the fourth quarter you

Guys go to that zone a little bit you think of how that the Zone was great um they scored to 13 I think to end the uh the beginning of the fourth and we should have got out of it on that one because they had put all the shooters in

And they had a timeout uh to to run something um we took the Gamble and we lost that one um we’ve talked about trying to keep guys in front defensively with Russell um did you feel like switching wasn’t going to be able to get done with no especially they were using

Their fives they were putting Bobby in switches and and Brooke that’s tough I don’t I’m sure I don’t want that coverage for sure on the other end um Dame has a double double y triple double playmaking X is what got it was fantastic um that’s why like I mean

Listen you want to win all these games but that’s the stuff that we’re going to keep doing more and more and more until it becomes us uh there was a stretch where Dame and Yannis were playing a two-man game and it was Unstoppable um and we’re trying to just

Encourage it more and what was beautiful about it is everyone scored Dame scored jannis scored Pat scored the ball was moving Bobby scored that’s what we got to get to and and that’s where you look at our team and you you you’re so confident in our growth that’s what I

See every day what is it about them playing that way that allows the other guys to also score they’re good no really it’s it’s not rocket science it’s the two best players in the gym doing something together and it forces the defense to do something else it it’s and

It’s that simple it’s I’m not being trying to be it’s they’re good players and they know how to play you put them together you create problems um and they just have to be patient with it and work it more and they’re starting to do it and that gives me confidence in the

Second half you were telling your team you know get the ball off the floor and pick up the pace yeah Pace yeah they did they did a good job cuz it was too slow uh Pace in the first half walking the ball walking the ball um we were at 16

And 14 a lot tonight and we we want to get the ball up the floor I think Dame saw that which is a good good thing for us too I need to keep a big picture of M the whole way here do this feel just missed opportunity yeah but it

Doesn’t I mean you know it’s again you you’ll learn me it is a missed opportunity but if we had won that doesn’t change anything you know what I mean like we’re trying to go we’re trying to go and get better um yeah I thought we had the game in our hands and

Were pretty limited but what were you seeing from him what were you trying to do to Aid to that and how huge was it uh you know D being Dow uh took over the game for us um obviously like I like you said I was just limited and you know

Couldn’t even really raised my left shoulder so uh just trying to be a decoy screening and you know using as much as much shoulder as I could on the defensive end um you know knowing that Dow Ry AR you know can can handle on the

Other end so uh but yeah I mean he got in the Rhythm and there was no doubt that we were going to him you’re somebody that’s ended games with defensive plays Spencer does that tonight get the ISO on Lillard sticks with him what did you see of that play

Back so uh we’ve been in that situation before and I think those times before kind of excuse me helped us uh tonight obviously um you know D dowlo with his you know shot making but uh on the defensive end I think like I said I

Think we were just locked in um and in in tune with each other where we able to uh get stopped when we needed them what was it like navigating the shoulder injury in the fourth quarter in terms of just like rebounds defense yeah I mean just some plays that

I know I’ll make you know it’s a couple offensive rebounds I think I could have got but I just show it just wasn’t allowing me to um even the layup with Spence just you know um know I wasn’t trying to use an excuse you know uh try

To continue to go out there and just do what I can to help the team win just knowing my presence on both ends of the floor is impactful so uh you know I just wasn’t going to let the shoulder um especially in a game like this you know

Where we have a chance to win uh come out and let my shoulder affect how I play Darin said that he talks about the playoffs having started for you guys the importance of needing to get out of a two win uh play in situation versus a one win what are the conversations like

With within the locker room about that um we had a conversation after the sa game you know we let that get away I mean we won all all the quarters except the second quarter um and that’s what a game has turned for so um you know tonight just coming out and just playing

You know as hard as we can leaving everything on the floor um knowing that we have a lot of tough opponents coming up I mean we have Minnesota Sunday we got sa again um Milwaukee again so Golden State you know so we have a lot

Of teams that um you know that is really good in the East you know it’s going to be a tough match up for us and well a good match up for us and then we also got teams in the west that we’re playing that’s doing the same thing that we’re

Doing so um each one is important and uh we make sure that we uh try try to address it before every game just to have that mentality of coming out and uh being in a mus situation I think some pretty positive signs there a he’s meeting with the media to talk

With them uh B you know he even cracked a joke with a teammate who was walking by you know just talked about his injury a little bit doesn’t seem like it’ll be long lasting says it hurts definitely in case you couldn’t tell by watching in that fourth quarter James but all in all

Uh just just him being out there add of the presence no doubt and you know you sometimes you have to play through those little nagging injuries and that’s what he tried to do hopefully the the feeling would come back uh and he was out there just enough to support his teammates uh

And you know without LeBron tonight um you know ad was the one he was the guy but DLo there’s the play obviously stepped up that right there was a play that he felt like he got injured right there in his shoulder area maybe I don’t know exactly but maybe it numbed the

Whole arm and maybe felt like a funny bone hit or something like that but I think he’ll be okay he be to recover from that I remember I tried to couple times like took charges on LeBron bad idea yeah it it’s not comfortable um and it just looked like you know a play

Where like Yannis is just so powerfully built that like that impact to that shoulder area you know caused a little bit of a reaction probably in the nerve you know tendons ligaments maybe kind of spasming a little bit and he just he couldn’t get that full range of Motion

In that left arm but most likely with some ice rest therapy tonight tomorrow by 6:30 Sunday night he’ll be ready to go he he recognizes what what’s needed right now does Ron give you credit for trying to take those charges uh no the second time I tried to hit him

Hard so n he didn’t give me any credit yeah he’s a big man isn’t he
