Jayson Tatum’s MVP chances might be gone

Jayson Tatum’s MVP chances might be gone

To start off the show to jump start all of this we’ve got to get started with what transpired Thursday night in Denver Colorado Nicole AIC recorded his 20th triple double of the season last night as the Nuggets withstood a fourth quarter surge to beat the Celtics 115

109 in Boston many fans viewed that game as a finals preview while Jaylen Brown showed out with 41 points for Boston his running M and MVP candidate Jason Tatum quite frankly came up small putting up just 15 points to go along with his eight assist Denver completed the season

Series sweep of Boston and some believe joic may have taken the MVP from Tatum based on last night’s results I’m not going to go as far as say that yic took the MVP I’m going to go as far as to say he may of course tat him the MVP if you

Are the best player on the best team usually that categorizes you as one of the elite candidates for League MVP honors which is why I had Jason Tatum at the top of the list but I can’t ignore the fact that in the two times the Boston Celtics the clear favorites in

The lot lot of people’s eyes to win it all this year the two times they faced Denver they’ve lost both games and in those two games Jason Tatum has come up small shooting 23% from three-point range about 32% from the field averaging uh significantly less like 18 and a half

Points in those two games that’s unacceptable when you are trying to Vive for the MVP and you’re going up against a reigning defending Champion who’s also a former League MVP and is the reigning NBA Finals MVP you got to show out and and once again Jason Tatum did not do

That not only did he not show out Jaylen Brown did Show Out and because of that it’s reminiscent of what transpired in the finals in 2022 when Golden State went up against Boston and jayen brown was balling out and Jason Tatum wasn’t because that reminded everybody of the

Deficiencies in his game and it’s really not about his game it’s about his unwillingness to steal moments when the moments are there to be had that’s what happened to Jason Tatum the other day and that’s what we can’t ignore we just can’t I’m looking at this brother right

Here averaging better than 27 points per game clearly the best player on the best team in the NBA due for a 300 plus million dollar contract especially since Jaylen Brown got 304 Million last summer you know Jason Tatum who’s available for the supermax is going to get that bag

Himself he’s going to get that offer Boston Celtics there’s no way in hell he’s going to avoid it or reject it he’s going to take the offer you’ve got a situation where Jason Tatum this season was in position to capture League MVP honors and NBA Championship an NBA

Finals MVP a 300 plus million doll contract then play for USA and win an Olympic gold medal these are all the things that are available for him and now based on what transpired Thursday night the MVP has been taken off the list and why can we say that because

We’ve seen Shay gilis Alexander and what he’s been doing in Oklahoma City in about 60 games 45 times he scored at least 30 30 points so Shay Gil just Alexander who’s at Oak Oklahoma City as one of the top three seeds in the Western Conference he’s an MVP candidate

We saw Carl Anthony towns go out with the miniscus tear and he’s expected to be out until the playoffs begin so what does Anthony Edwards do in Indianapolis what does he do he goes on the court he drops 44 and on top of it all had such a spectacular block to save

The Victory and preserve victory for the Minnesota Temple wols it was a block that even eclipsed LeBron James from years ago blocking Andre Iguodala in the NBA Finals game seven the only thing that was better was the moment in which LeBron James did it but that block from

Anthony Edwards to save the game where he went up and literally hit his head to the rim that’s how high the Skywalker elevated it’s the play of the year it’s the play of the year and when you look at Anthony Edwards and what he’s doing with Minnesota being 44 and 19 also one

Of the top two seeds in the Western Conference what are you GNA do he’s got to be in the MVP race him and Shay Gil just Alexander and then with joic balling the way that he’s balling now he’s got to be top three as the reigning defending NBA champions that’s been

Lurking and lurking and lurking all season long and now moving up the charts a third seed just a game or two out for the number one seed in the Western Conference think about this for a second you’re Jason Tatum and you know all of that’s going on and you answer the call

With 15 points you attempt just 13 shots Jay Brown attempts more than twice as many shots as you how could that happen how could you let that happen if you Jason Tatum a missed opportunity and I think last night it’s not definitive but I think one could easily say it cost

Him the league MVP so now it’s about a championship it’s about an NBA Finals MVP it’s about that bag and it’s about an Olympic gold medal he’s got four categories that he can confiscate but he’s got to get his mind right in terms of really really going after these

Moments and seizing it because that’s what superstars do they seize moments

  1. Yesterday it was Tatum, today it's Shai, maybe Edwards or Giannis. The MVP must be a "brother", just not a white man from Europe. Stephen A. Myth says, "I won't say that Jokic took the MVP title from Tatum, but I will say that he cost him the MVP title." He also says that Tatum could have been MVP, NBA champion, and NBA Finals MVP and won gold with the USA national team at the Olympics. Play-offs, NBA finals, MVP finals, Olympics, gold medal, all this hasn't even started, but Myth knows what will happen…

  2. Dear SAS: Genuine question – When did the MVP stop being the Most Valuable Player? I’m confused why it’s now the BPOTBT (best player on the best team) award. Jokic, Giannis, Ant, SGA, Luka, Steph…all seem more valuable to their respective teams vs how valuable Tatum is to Boston. Personally, it seems like the media is trying to move the goalposts in order to put Tatum into the MVP conversation, and make him the face of the league as the generation that came before him ages out.

  3. Steven A you’re a master narrative creator but this narrative not flying this season Nobody never had Tatum as the MVP but you 😂😂

  4. Brody sometimes it’s just easier to say ‘my bad I was just biased’…then u go on this rant about his upcoming max contract…bro we dgaf…question is why do you????

  5. Is Steven A stupid or something?..the whole world knows the joker is MVP…even SGA is the the race more than Tatum… Steven A Get off the Weeeeeeeeed!!… because u are the only 1 who thinks Tatum is MVP..only because he's American

  6. I have a massive amount of respect for Stephen A. Smith having a salary of $13 million a year and wearing a $25 Adidas jacket here. Respect where it's due Stephen.

  7. Alright SAS, you do realize you were the only one tryna push this narrative right? His MVP chances were never gonna be good this late in the season even with the Celtics being as good as they are. SGA is my pick

  8. The disrespect Joker (A WHITE BBALL PLAYER) has to go through, in a predominantly BLACK sport, covered by predominantly BLACK Analyst/Media is INSANE. Joker should be going for, and SHOULD be without question, winning what would be his 4th consecutive MVP award this season. Tatum has NEVER been in the conversation. Even if TATUM could put up Joker like numbers, he does it with Jrue, Porzingis, and Brown. All ALL STARS at one point. Ohh….Al Horford is also former 5x All Star. Joker has played with…….ZERO! SAS always bringing up race, Perkins always bringing up race, yet Joker deals with more racial discrimination (in terms of notoriety and accolades) than any other player in the NBA. Best Basketball Player in the world right now.

  9. I’ve never thought Tatum was an MVP candidate. In this era of loaded teams, “best player on the best team” is just a dumb criterion. Just as an example, if player A is a lone star on a team of subpar players and wins 60 games, and player B is the best player on a four star team and wins 62 games. So player B is more valuable? That’s just stupid.

  10. Boston has been the favorite the last 4 years but came up short every time. I don’t know why people don’t say he’s a choker. I don’t like harden but people chastised him for losing when he had way less help

  11. Stephen A. just can never admit that Jokic is the clear favourite to win the MVP, and for the majority of the public/voters is not close. And am i delusional to think in the possibility that if Jokic was black he would be top 1 by far in the list of Stephen A.?

  12. 😆😆😆😆 He said and now that way Jokic is balling he’s now top3😆😆😆😆 Bro what happened to SAS?! I can listen to him anymore!!!!

  13. Funny how the media said Jokic couldn't win MVP because he wasn't proven in the playoffs yet Tatum hasn't won anything either and they tried crowning him the MVP.

  14. So NOW Jokic is a top 3 mvp candidate? Wtf bro😂😂and I love antman but he doesn’t deserve to be in serious consideration either. Stop the bs Stephen a

  15. "it cost him the league MVP" You were the only one saying Tatum is MVP 🤣 It's between Jokic and SGA, Tatum is not even close to them. Never was.

  16. I am a Cs fan but yes I don’t think Tatum should be MVP this year. If we win the championship this year or lose in a 7 game finals appearance and he has a great regular season next year then maybe.

  17. Absolutely positively nobody has Tatum winning MVP 😂 Jokic is the man and he should’ve won it last year as well 🤷‍♂️

  18. Maybe Tatum stop trying to shoot 3s all the time ..drive the ball to the basket ! Celtics have been constant of giving the game away at the 4th quarter… coach stinks, pushing 3s. Drive the ball to the basket

  19. So you're telling us that Ants' season block eclipse LeBrons' playoff block to win the title just because his head hit the rim? Never
