Chauncey Billups Postgame Interview | Portland Trail Blazers 128, Toronto Raptors 118

Johy what do you do when you get a night at a DA like that after being out for a while um I mean you you know we all knew this even before he came back to playing but we just missed him so much I mean his

Presence on both ends of the floor um it’s just a big it’s game changer for us you know um he just he man the pain he got all the rebounds you know if it came in his area he was snatching it and then just him being able to score you know um

Was just a big deal I think he he he alleviates so much stress um for our guards you know just to have an outlet anytime you in trouble anywhere you to just to be able to throw it up is a luxury or when they traing ant bone

Being able to hit him in that pocket he’s doing such a good job of making plays so uh da was incredible man he was incredible uh the entire game how do you think scoot looked really good really good I was happy for scoot cuz he hasn’t been able to actually play basketball

You know he’s been able to work out those are two different things you know um his fire was awesome his passing was really good um his Pace was really really good defense was good he was physical um yeah I thought scoop was really good in the game I did yeah

Johnny from my point of view it looked like Tani was probably playing the fastest he has an offense all season making his choices decisions that did that look the same to you is that was that the most locked in outside the floor I think he’s say it right um two is really

Um I want him to be one of the best next action guys in the league you know and also I want him to be able to knock down those Corner threes when he has opportunities and I thought he did both of those good today you know um along

With his defense I thought him picking up quickly and being physical with with him in that first half really made a difference um but yeah yeah he played really fast his decision making is getting a lot quicker um he’s starting to understand not only where he is on the floor but

Who’s next to him you know and which play to make as that ball arrives he’s doing a better job of doing it quicker so um just just growth and development for him how his individual performances just what you think performance of the team tonight obviously you get up early

They come back go to overtime and then you you kind of blow the doors off and overtime yeah uh I thought it was I thought you know obviously it was the first half I mean we we we we couldn’t have played much better than that in the

First half but over the course of the game you always know you know it’s not we’re not going to play that way for 48 minutes um so we had a little bit let down they got they got some momentum in that third quarter they starting hit

Some shots but I just thought more than anything we kind of rushed things and we was feeling oursel a little too much in that third quarter we didn’t play the way that we got the lead um we played like the game is over and this is

The NBA and the game is never over you know um so it was a good lesson for us I know for me like there was a time I there was like two or three times during that stretch I really wanted to call a timeout but I

Wanted to wait and see if we can clean it up without the timeout and we didn’t I didn’t I didn’t call we still still didn’t so I said all right let me do it you know um so those are teachable moments you know that’s good teachable

Moments for me you know um cuz we could have very well lost that game and I could I would have been up here kicking myself saying I shouldn’t experimented right there you know so it’s it’s good teachable moment for me but our team too you know we got to be able to

Like um understand like when we get going like that okay now it’s time to just get back on track with a couple plays that are long longer in The Possession where we moving the ball strong side weak side getting some pain touches and as opposed to the quick

Shots which hurt us so I just thought overall we all kind of learned a lot in the game J down the down the stretch here as you guys are getting healthier and you guys are competing in games a lot tighter do you feel like there’s any sort of identity forming with the

Team I do I do um this is something that you know obviously you would have hoped for a lot earlier and we would have gotten it a lot earlier had our we had the the healthy bodies on the team we would have we would our identity you

Know would have been said with everybody now don’t get me wrong I do believe that no matter who plays we have a way of playing and we play together we do it the right way but obviously when your stars and your and your and the big dogs

Come back um you know you you you have to change some things a little bit to defer you know to Da to ant to Jeremy when he’s back and you know it’s just how it is um around the league but I’m very happy with um where we are where

Our team really understands how we want to play every single night and if we do that we live with the results when lose when win or lose
