Trae “you livin life young killa” Young has had his sights on wemby since last offseason. I bet he’s been daydreaming about those lobs before wemby got even drafted

I know this is going to excite a large number of you folks, but all talent and fit aside, dude actively campaigning to get traded is not the sort of thing I expect the Spurs FO to think of as a positive. We have dealt with a player actively not wanting to be here of our own and that was an experience.
The Spurs have enormous leverage over ATL by owning their picks but I cannot imagine the Hawks making a deal where we get full value because they would look like bigger morons than they currently do. Regardless of actual impact, the optics would be one of the most embarrassing fumbles in NBA transactions this century.
I kinda expect them to hold the line out of pride and a misplaced sense of principal, and expect full market value for Trae, even over the Spurs leverage. Now, if they deal him out of spite to another team and try to sell their fans on “5 FRPs” (that are likely no where near as good as their won would be after dealing him), that only helps us.
Personally, I’m still on the fence about adding Trae to this squad. ATL is mid and sliding right now and this sort of sideshow is not likely to get better. They may be forced to trade him and in the meantime, he may not play well and team chemistry could deteriorate and those picks we own will only get better.

If a girl cheats with you, she’ll cheat on you.
He’s a Harden. He’ll eventually get disgruntled and request another trade.
