Can the Timberwolves KEEP IT UP without KAT? 😨 | Numbers on the Board

Can the Timberwolves KEEP IT UP without KAT? 😨 | Numbers on the Board

Let’s let’s talk about some injuries let’s get the injuries out of the way first yep um the most important one of out of all of these cuz there been a lot of injuries over the last week or so is carony towns miniscus originally it came

Out that he had a miniscus tear and they were trying to figure out different options and like okay maybe it’s not as bad because the way it was worded it made it seemed like there was a world where he doesn’t miss any time I was like okay that’s interesting and then

About an hour later WS came out and said he’s going to let me Miss at least a month which will put him around the start of the playoffs if everything’s go everything goes perfectly um the Minnesota temples have been a fan base that has been the most unlucky that you

Could really think about um and the things were going perfectly and now one of their Big Fellas is gone luckily I mean unfortunately for them he is out but luckily for them they are they were well they actually just lost them on see yester they did um but they have enough

Ground I think and I think Anthony Edward is talented enough to where he can carry them for this load you actually now seeing it now with C being out his shot attempts are going up like significantly he took 30 something shots the other night last night he took like

28 so like he’s definitely seems like he’s taking that mentality of okay I got to step my game up with big fella being out and then I think he’s a he’s so good he can keep them afloat for this month or six weeks that cat’s going to be out

So hopefully cat is back by playoff time and I think this team is deep enough to where they can you know they can still stay in that top three range I agree with you I only thing I look at a little differently is I think it has to be

Somebody else we know what Anthony Edwards can do we know what he’s capable of but I think without anybody else stepping up it becomes predictable and you’ll have games like last night where I believe he was over six over seven in the fourth quarter struggled a little

Bit down the stretch and I think that come that that comes with the fact that it it’s a little bit of a predictable um offensive flow it already wasn’t the best offense y’ y’all had the conversation weeks ago and now you take away carony towns who was a part of the

One two punch that they had and you look around and it’s like Mike Conley isn’t going to be a guy that’s about to Surge offensively Rudy ain’t going to be a guy that’s about to Surge offensively they brought a layup last night so it’s like jayen McDaniels or somebody like that is

Gonna have to really step up and I’ve kind of been waiting on that for Jen mcams because since this year he hasn’t had that offensive leap expect last night it was Nas Reed career high it’s not can he give you that consistently in his absence because we

Know his strong suit is his versatility and we do defensively and he can have nights like this cuz he can shoot the three ball really well and he still allows you to play Big you can put him at the four with one of the big and the

Lineups of him and really go bear are good like statistically CU NZ is shooting over 40% from three this year so like he’s somebody you have to respect when you talk about being able to knock it down so that does it does hurt your offense a lot I want to see

That from jayen McDaniels though um since I’ve seen him in high school in Washington I’ve always felt since he was a pro that he was going to have like a breakout offensive year that was going to catch people by surprise pris but I I loved his route to the NBA cuz I think

Guys like him they have to buy in on the defensive side first because they’re not going to be the one a that they were used to in high school cuz they’re not Elite offensively but I think he can be a guy who as your third option can be

Reliable so I I really hope that we can see him start to take some steps in that direction cuz it’s in there it’s in there and that type of guys like him that that’s that’s how you that’s how you do it you come in and you go to a

Team has a option one option two already and those are Elite Superior offensive players you buy in on the defense side of the basketball that’s how you get on the court you become a stopper and then the more time you get the more freedom because when you guard your coaches will

Reward you offensively boom you take off and now you’re an elite two-way Wing play Elite defensive two-way Wing who has um above average scoring ability so I agree with you I know uh me and you both have been kind of waiting for that offensive jump from from uh jayen

Mcdonel but I know it’s also hard cuz usually on oh every night he’s guarding the best player too and I know that’s a lot of energy that that gives off but I agree exactly what y’all said about Nas Reed I was going to bring him up he’s

Not cat but he could replicate a little bit of the things that he does and I think that’s still some that’s still some hope for you uh for you during this time that you know cat’s out for the month but if he can make it back in time

This team they they want to be healthy going in full strength because after the season you just had you don’t want to have no dud to kind of end the season only thing that scares me is that we don’t know what he will look like eventually when he comes back talking

About Manus care te a month of not playing basketball like we probably won’t get the same version of cat exactly so you’re throwing him into the fire for the playoffs and there’s a lot of discourse around cat when you think about his two playoff appearances so far

In his career how his play has gone down I just think you know it’s it’s a rough a rough time that’s all and Caron towns himself get well soon he’s had a rough four years or so been through a lot man um and I just want to give him the

Flowers obviously all stared season and everything but when you think about how much he has TR like tried to sacrifice throughout his career I think this is year number nine with the Minnesota Tims and now it’s the first time he’s really had a real good roster around him but he

Went from a guy that’s like the number one option to people recognized that maybe it’s Anthony edwards’s team and he’s he’s never complained he’s okay with playing his role he was a five the entirety of his life and they said hey we don’t believe our team is going to be

Good enough defensively with you at the five let’s bring in Rudy Gober and then he’s transitioned it took him a year it did take him a year but he’s transitioned to that fourth spot very well and everybody talks about Rudy they talk about Jen McDaniels even Anthony Eris defensively carony towns is really

Bought in on the defensive side of the ball too so he cares about winning he wants to be out there he’s been somewhat of an Iron Man for the first part of his career um I read that this is the first s first surgery he’s undergone as an NBA

Player which is CRA n your career I feel like you got at least two surgeries you got to clean up of your knee somewhere in the off yeah at least I’m in yeah but this is his first time he’s ever had to go into the knife so um wish nothing but

The best and I hope that the timber will stay afloat because I I want this playoffs to be like everybody’s at their full strength and it’s unrealistic obviously but luckily they do have their defense to rely on on a night toight basis I think that the defensive culture

Of that team won’t won’t it won’t fall out long especially because you got still got Rudy goar right you still got all your good defensive pieces if you can lay your head on that for the next month or so and let it get you by I

Think they’ll be all right in the three I’m sorry in the 700 minutes they’ve played together Rudy go and NZ re have a net rating of 14.5 which is amazing that was my biggest thing I said in my video about this injury is like I feel for cat

Obviously he’s been through a lot um Minnesota this is what the second they on P out the second best uh season in franchise history and you get a devastating injury like this at such a a crazy time but more so than anything as just a basketball fan like yeah you know

You’re going to have injuries throughout the season but it’s so many stars and there so many big pieces to the puzzle of what of what we have in the parody you know what I mean andb going down now you got cat um Trey young johnar like you look at the Memphis Grizzlies

Imagine if the Memphis Grizzlies was fully at Health you know mean threat to win it they would be in the mix and that’s another team that would being in it to make a team like the Lakers Warriors son you know that bottom four have the chances of being out and it’s

Just one of the best things we have right now is the parody Y and that’s the most exciting thing so you can have like a gauntlet in the playoffs with like the best the championship team they were the best last team standing that’s what we

All want to see and it just felt like these injuries are starting to pile up and and hypothetically take it away you know can take it away from us even the teams that ain’t necessarily in the playoff mix they’re so good that on a on on a night on a random night Scotty

Barnes can can put up 30 something and snatch a win in Toronto he’s out he what he do break his finger like you know Trey young and his left hand yeah the Hawks is having a disappointing Season On Any Given night with him and de and

That team being at fully health they can beat anybody we even like in the Vic show cuz the Spurs suck but hey if you come in there not focused the Spurs will beat did to the Kings get oh yeah was the guy you know what I

Mean so like Johnson came off the bench and went crazy I just love that fact of the NBA where we got the top dogs all duking it out trying to be the the last team standing and then like I said we have so much talent where so much Stakes

Is on the line because everything is so close that man you come in there with the wrong approach against one of these bottom feeding teams they will have you reviewing your your year like Damn

On Numbers on the Board, Kenny, Pierre, Mike, and Darrick react to the news that Karl-Anthony Towns will be out indefinitely with a torn meniscus for the Timberwolves and what that means for the team going forward.

  1. Karl-Anthony Towns has never won a thing in his life. He wasn't going to make a difference. Jokic is a proven winner. Chet Holmgren is a superstar. Porzingis puts the Celtics over the top. Towns doesn't move the needle with the Timberwolves. Still the same team

  2. I think Mike Conley needs to start scoring off that floater like he used to do because that option is there most of the time

  3. The Wolves were an already struggling offense even with KAT and Ant, and now you subtract KAT…it’s gonna be a struggle going forward.

People will look at Ant’s take over game against Indy and assume “oh yeah the Wolves will be perfectly fine w/o Karl” without realizing the Pacers have a defensive where literally anyone can go off.

And this is nothing against Ant (he’s gonna be the face of the league), but the wolves don’t have a 1B or 2A scorer now, plus given Ant’s SUPER HIGH usage rate, he isn’t distributing enough to make his team better.

What i’m basically saying is, no I don’t think the Wolves will be fine going forward without KAT.

  4. It’s going to be tough if we keep getting officiating like that Scott Foster special against the Cavs. Every one of those refs should be fired after that game. Woof.
