El Valle Content Series Episode 4: Algo Icónico | Phoenix Suns

I think the inspiration for this design mainly came from you know my past and how I grew up and what I saw and the type of art that influenced me like Old English and and script lettering and and it basically is what inspired me to to

Create this word Mark when I grew up here in Phoenix I grew up creating lettering and painting graffiti and painting big and being around it pretty much my whole life and a lot of chos especially the ones that I was raised around they weren’t just raised around

Like gangster music or low riters like a lot of them were grew up you know skating and grew up you know doing uh uh you know in the punk rock scene and stuff like that so I think we’re kind of like a big blend of a lot of different styles and

Cultures I just wanted to make sure that when it’s done you can tell that this was created by hand and I think that is what is timeless about it and we’ll live on forever hopefully I started doing these sketches I started designing the rest of the font

Based off of these sketches and based off of the word Mark so the same letters that I used for the word Mark I ended up uh designing the s u the N the S and then basically a whole alphabet and then when I dumped it into illustrator I came

Here and uh started cleaning up all the all the lines and then here’s all the rest of the letters long as I try to make it look cool and I’m happy with it uh there’s going to be a bunch of other people that like it
