This was so wild. I kept checking the game and was confused why it hadn’t started. Then started to see things pop up on twitter. Shit got real that day.
Fuck Rudy. I was at the Jones Assembly getting ready to go to a concert at the Criterion waiting to watch the game on the big projector there before the show.
Watched it all get shut down just a few blocks from the stadium. My wife and I decide to go walk around 21c’s museum to get our heads straight and decide if we are going to the concert or not. We then learn the Jazz are heading back TO 21c where they are apparently staying. (Usually it’s the Skirvin.)
We get freaked out because, well, no one knew anything about Covid at the time. We decide not to go to the concert and go home.
Hindsight we should have just gone because it wasn’t spread yet and it would have been our last cool outing before the lockdowns. But all in all, Fuck Rudy Gobert.

Last game my dad went to. He died in June of that year from heart surgery complications. Will never forget.

That was a big game too that year. We were fighting the Jazz for the 4 seed if I recall correctly.

I was there, still a crazy timeline. Even looking back it feels like a fever dream

Crazy time, my friend was there at the OKC game and was messaging me it got cancelled and all what was going down, while I was at the Dallas Mavs game. It was the last game to finish out before the bubble. Crazy it’s been 4 years.

At the time we had the best record in the West since Dec. 1 (33-13). I was really anticipating this game to view our seeding against the Jazz.

I was in a bar for trivia night when this was announced. Some of the folks I was there with I never saw in-person again as they moved away during lockdown.

Remember the hate Gobert got after this with the clips of him touching all of the microphones, making light of the illness?

This is one of several moments I knew things were about to change.

I remember being at my friend’s place when tuning the game in and realize they were broadcasting an old game (We saw Russ in the game)

I wasn’t there, but my parents were, which is rare for them. Not only that, but they had box seats with laminated tickets and lanyards and everything. The Sports Animal guys were talking this morning about those being collectors’ items; I wonder how much they could get for them.
