So first off, he’s not wrong. The Wolves have had an atrociously lopsided whistle, especially of late.
That said, these postgame comments are really troubling. It is definitely now in Ant’s head. It’s most troubling because this team has never needed a focused and driven Ant more. Again, he’s not wrong, but he’s also allowing this refball imbalance to have downstream effects on his play. You can see him lose focus multiple times a game because of calls and these postgame comments just confirm how much of this is now on his mind all the time. This is a growing problem as we move toward the postseason, and he could be really served with a mental game coach if he doesn’t have one. I hope the Wolves are working on this. Might be going against the grain here but I kind of agree with what you’re saying. Focusing only on the refs does get in your head and will affect your game and how you play. Hoping they can lock in and finish top 4 in the west.
He’s complaining a lot but I don’t really see where it’s affecting his game. He still drives when the defense isn’t filling all the gaps. He isn’t forcing the 3s. Felt like this was a pretty good Ant decision making game as far as knowing when to pass and when to shoot. I think we’re singing a different tune if Ant wasn’t going through a dry spell 3 point wise.
Ant goes 2-9 from 3 and the 1st thing he blames is the refs😂 Go hit a shot bruh. The refs wasn’t the problem last night yea they missed some calls and maybe we are getting an unfair whistle but come on bruh we cant blame the refs when we shot 46 3s while they was attacking the mismatches they had. We had Naz Reid and Luka Garza as our centers last night against AD and Bron ofc they gonna shoot alot of fts
Pretty generic complaint imo. Much more worried about out the throwing the arms up every time after a drive. But to your point, the big 3 do have to get on with it. Calling the refs cheating and Goberts money signs and all that isn’t going to help and probably just creating more of an issue. If I was a ref, and I consistently watched a player yell at me all night, might not want to give him that 50/50 call with a few minutes left.
It’s a dangerous mentality that permeates the entire team at times. KAT, Ant, Gobert, Naz, Jaden are all susceptible to it and have the risk of it taking them out of their game due to it.
He’s been struggling with nationally televised games. Not sure what that’s all about.
Ant jsut needs a brearher. Haven’t caught much of a break recently.
