[Wojnarowski] ESPN Sources: Amid a considerable franchise turnaround, Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley has agreed on a four-year contract extension that’ll take him through the 2027-2028 season. Magic are a half game out of fourth in East and top 5 in defense.

Let’s gooo! Mose has steadily improved year after year sure he makes mistakes but who doesn’t. I’m actually happy with the way he’s ran with this squad, now if the FO can improve the roster this team got something special cooking

Hell yea 👏well deserved Mose, helped change the culture and the team believes in him. Run it back till 2028

Anybody who’s unhappy with this is going to eat crow when Mose recruits Luka to Orlando in 2027 (a man can dream)

  5. Please for god sake hire some help on the offensive side of the ball.

Coach Mose, in his first NBA head coaching role and in his third year, with a team whose best player is a sophomore, led us to not only a winning record but also half a game from home advantage in the playoffs. Need to say more? He deserves this.

This is great news. Mosley is the perfect coach for this team, and continues to improve every season.

The worst people in this sub are about to have a meltdown lmao. This is great news

Well this leaves only 2 years to win the championship by our deadline if he doesn’t get it done

Awesome, our best coach in years. Still really young into his head coaching journey too.

Super happy we don’t have those irrational thinkers in this thread.

    Well deserved!

  11. He is obviously beloved by his players and staff, has created a very positive locker culture, given the team a clear identity and has steadily improved the players under him.

He is primarily a development and player coach, which is exactly what you want if the core of your team is on average 22 years young and was handpicked in drafts.

There will be people seething at this news, who think you can just snap your fingers and have a contender at your hands and that developing something from the ground up does not involve growing pains and setbacks, but realistically this team has developed as quickly as you could possibly hope for and a large part of that is thanks to coach Mosley.

Man’s about to have two straight years of 10+ win improvements. Yeah. He’s earned another few years on his contract.

  13. Deserved. Wasn’t the biggest fan of his at first but he’s definitely made his mark on the team. Good for the players with continuity. He still has plenty of room to grow as a coach.

I wonder how we will view him by the end of that deal.

This is awesome news. I haven’t liked a coach this much since SVG.

The difference is that the perfectionist, no-nonsense, curmudgeon approach of SVG wears pretty heavily on players. Mose seems like a ‘players coach’ in the best definition of the word. Doesn’t let players run the ship, but builds relationships and respect.

    Such great news.
