Sixers Are NOT Done Making Moves… KAI JONES Work-out?

Shams reported over the weekend that the Sixers plan to work out Kai Jones who was cut from the Hornets last year he was cut for multiple reasons number one is play on the court it simply wasn’t impressive it wasn’t good enough for them to deal with his off- the court

Antics it seemed like he had some sort of mental breakdown but I think the thing that finished him was he started responding to haters on social media and in his responses he was critiquing other Hornet teammates for example someone said Nick Richards is better than him

Which is 100% True by the way but Kai responded I’m more assertive with the ball I can read myself he also threw Mark Williams under the bus in a similar situation first and foremost I need the Sixers to do their research see if he has matured and understands his talent

Is 100% not worth him bringing attitude issues to the team my first question is why not just go with metu he’s more polished and has had way more NBA success and I just think he’s a smarter more intelligent and just a better overall player however I digress if he

Does ever succeed in the NBA I see him in a chrish bue sort of role the thing is he’s another guy who I see more as a power forward like he rarely ever sets screens and he’s probably not an effective screener either because he’s super duper scrawny so most likely great

Point of attack Defenders just won’t feel his screen he does have the ability to play play the modernday small ball Center position and will offer some great extra Rim protection as a power forward but first off I need him to accept who he is as an NBA player and

Understand what’s going to actually get him consistent minutes he has a bag per se but often times watching the film I’m saying to myself for what and maybe one day that can come and that would be great but that stuff probably works in the offseason and open runs but nothing

Seems like it has any chance of being consistent right now in the NBA and often times he goes up without a plan and honestly I think him having this ability has hurt him early on in his NBA career because often times he’s just on the perimeter I’ve gathered some clips

To showas the positive things he can bring to the table and focus on for what I think his role would be number one bring versatility defensively here he shows the ability to move on the perimeter and keep his guy in front get the steel and keep in mind He’s listed

At 611 with a 7′ one wingspan which will allow him to be a freak and a lot to handle in transition and also you saw in that play he can handle at that size pretty well and as I mentioned earlier his handle isn’t great but he’s capable

And that is a weapon at that size he’s a better offensive rebounder than defensive rebounder I noticed and he has the potential to be an elite offensive rebounder if he sets his mind to it once again I just think about what Chris bue was in Toronto he truly probably can be

That for an NBA team bue averaged two offensive rebounds per game in his career year with Nick nurse he can also be utilized as an elite cutter or you put him in the dunker spot he can be lethal because of his insane athletic ability instantly he would be the best

Lob threat on the Sixers just an insane athlete he can bring extra Rim protection to the lineup that he’s in here he forces a miss and then look at how quick he gets up the court and then his teammate throws it up to only where

He and then his teammate throws it up to only where he can get it we saw him defend the perimeter but how about him also having the ability to block a seven-footer and Lui Markin in at the rim and then once again he’s running the floor do your damage with the little

Things Kai eat off the offensive glass and success will come your way here he can test a treyman floater and you can tell it makes a difference and then he gets the ball aggressively on the defensive glass and then he finds his point guard or whoever and he runs the

Floor lob as a result look at how high he gets off the ground here to absolutely embarrass Andre Drummond his best ability in terms of it translating to the NBA is his athleticism he truly brings vertical spacing to the table his impact will come from protecting the rim grabbing offensive rebounds with putback

Slams things like that if he perfects that the more valuable his other potential skills become it’s more likely that NBA coaches will allow him to experiment in terms of if his bag can translate to the NBA his three-pointer is a work in progress just like it is

For Paul Reed but honestly he’s probably way farther behind in the process he’s not afraid to take them and he probably thinks in his head he’s an elite shooter five made threes out of 21 attempts over his Hornet’s career which is 21% from three I think under Nick nurse he can

Get that up to serviceable but never at an extreme high volume just like he did with bue and now seemingly Paul Reed is on the road as well it seems to me this would be more of a longterm sort of move and also the cheapest option maybe a

Reason they’re not signing metsu is because um they want to stay under that tax line or whatever it is I went over it a couple videos ago in my Ricky Council video overall it would be hard for me to imagine him coming in this season and finding a consistent role I

Just don’t think he’s much better than Mo Boma right now considering he has a long way to go in terms of basketball IQ his draft profile states Jones’s weaknesses are those that you would expect from a prospect as raw as him overall awareness isn’t quite there defensively he gets lost often and just

Doesn’t have the awareness yet offensively he can be out of control which forces him to make bad decisions that lead to turnovers but quite frankly he won’t fix the center issues without embiid he will be just as inconsistent most likely but he can be a nice spark

Plug another option if he’s focused and connecting on all cylinders let me know your thoughts Below in the comments section if you enjoyed at any point leave a like And subscribe check out my other videos have yourself a great day and peace out

  1. All he needs to do is give 100% for rebounds and steals and dunks and just stay in his lane and it'll be great. Or it can be the total opposite lmao.

  2. Sixers need to add 1 player by March 14th because teams can only have 13 players for only 2 weeks at a time & it could be a 10 day but that's a money waste
    – either sign Metu or Bradley or Jones by March 14th

  3. I would sign Council & Metu
    – then sign Jones to the Council's former 2way spot
    – maybe sixers can use the MLE but have no guaranteed money past this year

  4. metu or Bradley shoulda been signed after the trade deadline. what is takin sooo looong??? by the time we sign some1 it'll b to late standings-wise or Embiid will b back. 👍morey 😔

  5. I really don't mind signing him as this short term experiment thing at this point. The reason we would want him is to win just a few more regular season games without Embiid. Maybe his insane athletic burst makes him a better option than Bamba? The risk/reward element seems sorta interesting.

  6. He’s nowhere close to as NBA ready as Darius Bazley is who couldn’t even get on the floor but at the same time he is worth having in the organization because of his rare athleticism.

  7. He is this generation Dennis Rodman hands down. Someone just need to tell him what his role is on the team, shooting will not be it.

  8. 6'11 230 7'2 inch arm length. 23 years old. Embiid was that size 😳 or smaller, The Greek Freak also. Some slim guys are incredibly strong.

  9. Super scrawny ? He has gained 20lbs of muscle since he was drafted. He is pretty jacked actually. I mean he is a basketball player so of course he is lean. Far from scrawny my man.

  10. I wouldn’t want him, he is a hot 🥵 head. If he was anything worth while the Hornets would’ve kept him, because they sure as hell need good basketball players on that team

  11. Sixers should just invite like 5 available centres to a workout and pick the cream of the crop.

  12. Sixers don't need a head case when they are trying to all pull together to stay out of the play-ins without Jo. THey have to be real certain about that before you even talk about on-court role.
