Yall said the Warriors should’ve kept Donte when they really were unable to afford him. Steph, Klay, Draymond, Wiggins, and CP3 account for ~$170 million. The cap is $136 million. Already over the cap, add GP2 and Looney and their young guys in Kuminga, Moody, and Podz and they are in $200 million in cap to these players. They’d have to dump Klay and one of CP3/Wiggins just to be $2m-$10m below the $136m cap line. Would they rather give up 2 rotational players for Donte? At the time, no. Now, maybe, maybe not cuz CP3 and Klay are expiring contracts, and Wiggins is a trade asset for sure.
