Welp. Best case is the last week of the season, not great. He’s historically a slow starter each season and that’s coming in without major injury. Woof.

  2. Philly sports was riding too high with Maxey coming back and Howie’s revenge tour.

Last regular season game is 4/~~16~~14, he’s still got a month to get back healthy and in game shape. End of March was always the best goal anyways.

Edit: which I suppose is what the second half of the quote basically says. Not all that much to take from this.

I speak fluent Embiid injury. Allow me to translate

The sixers want to get the bucks in the second round and care more about his conditioning for playoffs than winning games yet this regular season

    Don’t freak out

Season is cooked. Sign Kai Jones, he’s our last hope

  6. I mean not to be doom and super gloom but it’s already too late I feel like to make a meaningful return and then a playoff push. One month of prep into playoffs that makes sense and shows the injury really isn’t going to be rushed back.

Now this late it just seems desperate and I really hope Embiid’s long term health doesn’t pay for it.

if he comes back during the last week, he will face: Spurs, Pistons, Magic and Nets.

I bet r/nba is going to say: “Embiid faked injury to duck tough competition. He only wants to play against bottom feeders”

While not technically a setback, Ramona said late March was a possible come back for Joel a month ago. Guess that was too optimistic 😞

Time for the bench and Maxey to somehow hold down the fort. Or for Harris to still get paid somewhere else next year…

The hope that they have in Philly is that they can just stay in the mix for Joel Embiid to come back the last week or so of the season, and at least where he has a chance to get back some conditioning before the playoffs.”

My hope is that he would be back for the last three games of the season – all at home, all against cupcakes.

Anything more than that is probably not necessary. Three games should be enough to dust the rust off. Hopefully we will be the 6 seed or better – so after those 3 games, Nurse will have some solid practice time during the play-in tournament to get everybody on the same page.

It’s been pretty consistent that the earliest he would realistically come back was for the last week of the regular season.

He’s not gonna be anywhere near top shape or in top health for the playoff run, which is the same issue literally every year.

hate to say it but told you guys. but yes please simply downvote me for wondering why we hadn’t gotten an update at 4 weeks

  15. Bet he’s perfectly fine for the Olympics though.

    Embiid you are a Thunder!

Giddey, J Dub, and 5 FRPs come on down!

April 2nd return at the earliest, which puts the Sixers’ ceiling around 43 wins — and no higher than the 8th seed.
