Just watched this video, it’s sad that the media (Chuck and Shaq) created this narrative that AD doesn’t play games. It’s come to the point where casuals, like the ones in the video, think that Joel Embiid is more available than AD. Imagine actually being a college basketball player and being so gullible to media narratives. Shows that you can’t think for yourself. AD might get the most flack for not playing games, more than Kawhi, Embiid, PG. Really frustrating to see

Ignore them. Chuck is a known Lakers hater. Has been for decades. Shaq is a Lakers legend, but he’s a hater when it comes to certain players. He’s still hating on Dwight after all these years. Although he’s given credit to AD, he feeds into the narrative that AD is “street clothes” when the past 2 seasons have proven otherwise. He would’ve been laughing if AD got injured and carted off the same way Sengun just did
While Chuck and Shaq may be haters I actually have seen a lot more casuals giving AD more and more credit. I have commented this before but I will never fuck with Charles for giving AD that street clothes nickname. AD is a fierce competitor and you can tell he wants to win badly.

AD is really the best #2 in the league hands down. He doesn’t cause drama. He gives his all. We are lucky to have him and he has oddly become the most underrated player in the league imo. I’m thankful for AD and will always give him his flowers

One of the ppl I hate the most is Charles Barkley. I think he’s a piece of shit, young guys may not know him trashing lakers players going back almost 2 decades. He called Kobe a quitter and ppl starting going with it, he gave AD the street clothes nick name and everyone picked it up and always runs with it. No mention of embiid missing seasons, or kawhi or any of those other dudes. He gave kd the “a bus rider” tag too.

AD has played waaaaaaay more of the percentages of his games throughout his career than embid has…and it’s not even close

AD isn’t perfect but he def has shed a lot of narratives this season. The last few season he did earn some of his reputation of being inconsistent and unavailable to act like he was iron man from 21-23 is straight blasphemous. Even fans were revolting. It also don’t help he playing next to Bron who while still great is getting older so it was a bad position.
The only thing I wish AD had from Embid was Embids jumpshot.
Shaq did defend AD when he said AD don’t get the ball enough if I were him id stand in the paint get 3 second calls to show my displeasure.

This one season of availability hasn’t changed it for me, though I appreciate seeing him play well.

He’s doing much of this with a very lackluster defensive overall squad/strategy and incredibly inept coaching support. I actually don’t have strong enough vocabulary to describe how bad the coaching is. But we all know this. But as I continue to type I just am realizing how passively angry and upset I am all day about this. Holy shit. This is like an ambient constant frequency of disappointment at the “coach.”
