It seems pretty clear what the needs are. Getting them is another matter, especially with a fairly weak draft, a weak FA class, uncertainty about the trade market, and possible value of future picks rather than burning them now.
Whatever happens, happens, but the best thing we can do is be patient. I too was salivating at the idea of Trae and Wemby together, but I definitely don’t want to gut out the team to do it.
Idk if any of yall watch KOT4Q but he made some great points on his Kenny for Real channel – pretty much if you rush a rebuild you can end up in a situation similar to Dallas, where they have a star in Doncic, who is too good to tank with (thus can’t build from the draft), but the rest of the team isn’t good enough to really compete. On the other hand, you can take things slow and take a similar route to OKC where you not only have a team that can compete, but also ability to build from the draft.
This might sound very unpopular but we just gotta be patient, draft players and over the next few seasons develop those young players into respectable players.
Maybe down the line like year 3 or even 4, after the Spurs have turned some of these young players into solid NBA rotation players, they can then package some of them to obtain Luka Doncic to pair arguably the scariest 1-2 punch in Luka/Wemby the NBA wouldnt be ready for.
Now of course nobody wants to wait that long, hell I don’t want to wait that long either! But time and time again we see franchises try to cut corners and build winning teams too fast and time and time again do we see them fail to ever compete for a championship.
Just a few more seasons, as long as we see improvements starting this off season I’ll consider that a win but not if the Spurs mortgage their entire future all at once this early.
I just hope that we still rebuild and not rush it. We have pieces and they will improve. But again, we are just here on reddit and will trust the org to do the best path they feel.

I just hope next season, irrespective of who we trade, draft etc. that we improve.
Those games where we play well for 3 quarters, we need to convert that into 4 quarters. Those times where we missed Wemby wide-open, he needs the ball. The shot selection, and defensive lapses need to be improved.
You’d expect the team to be better, not worst, with each player being a year older and another year under their belt.
