Few minutes here wanted to touch on a couple of house keeping items first first of all the group night uh that’s coming up on March 30th that Saturday when the magic take on the Memphis Grizzlies been getting a lot of direct messages from people that were able to
Uh secure tickets when they were up for sale and they’re asking hey how do I know if I’m part of the 60 for the pregame Hoops experience right now if you’re listening to this the morning of March 14th if you have tickets you are included with that we made sure the
Magic cut it off right at 60 uh we did that just to make sure that everybody has ample time and is going to have a good experience playing on the floor uh so you know we’re really really excited about that now we are working with the
Magic to get some more tickets to sit in the section with us uh in 118 during the game so be on the lookout for that we’re hoping to get that up in the next couple of days uh if you want to meet us at jam hot chicken before the game which we’ll
Sort of all hang out and you can eat there if you want to before we head over to the game and then if you want to sit in the section with the rest of the other you know Die Hard magic fans more than welcome to do that so be on the
Lookout there we have a watch party coming up tomorrow Friday March 15th The Magik are taking on the Toronto Raptors in Toronto will be at the Twisted handle which is located at 1632 North Mills Avenue that is a 7:30 tip off watch party is going to get going around 7

Be outside of Kia immediately following that game with the camera his lights really really hard to miss him while you’re leaving the arena uh so be sure to to stop by the six fan show and celebrate a win then after a loss whatever happen happens that night that
Is your time to do that okay we’re going to get to the Poo banero interview here in just a moment Luke but just wanted to uh tell everybody like just sort of how this came about this is something that we’ve been uh you know hoping to be able
To do for for quite some time now um Pao obviously was sick a couple of weeks ago we tried to do it then but obviously Pao needed to to heal up and and get better and everything like that so this Luke regardless of how long it took you know
For to to get this to happen you know Palo Banker is a very sought-after individual he’s number one overall pick Allstar here in his second year um and it’s really just like a a dream come true like I was driving the other day to the Advent Health Training Center and
Thinking of like what could we possibly do that could be bigger than this and I don’t think there is anything that we could do that could be bigger than this there’s things that could be as big as this you know if we had Shaq or Penny or
Teamac or Dwight on the podcast right but it does not get any bigger than having Pao banero you know join us at least for you know a few minutes here on the podcast um and just you know we we spent time around him before you know at media day and you know shootarounds
Before games and things like that uh but just a super down toe dude really really cool to get a few minutes with him and yeah we somebody in our Discord uh you know po we we’re posting like photos before we sort of leaked it to the
Public that hey we got to talk to you know Pao today and try to everybody sort of keep it on the down low and somebody commented like dude what is your life and that’s exactly how I feel I have no idea what my life or life has become at
This point but just super grateful for every single opportunity and uh as long as we get to do stuff like this I’m going to keep doing it as these opportunities you know are presented to us super special um I’m just it’s it’s crazy that like you said like you’ve
You’ve been alluding to the fact that it’s nuts that you we even ained a Palo B Caro interview and you said what could be better and next time hopefully it’s a a zoom call or inperson longer interview too like we we are hoping that this is just the
Beginning of the Poo B Caro appearance on the six-man show but yes like you said hard to get hard to get him on in general he’s he only you know goes really like as far as appearances he did you know Taylor Brooks he’s done the JJ
Reic uh podcast as well and he’s done like Alex Kennedy and his his podcast as well and that’s really like it’s a short list and it’s always people that are way ahead of us in this space so to have the opportunity for you to go and and
Represent the show there and shout out to our boy Ben going and holding it down on the camera side of things as he does so well with the six fan show brought him into this and just awesome for him to get to experience this as well and go
To the practice facility and and uh and get to see everything happen so man just shout out to everybody for for making it happen into the magic obviously and Pao yeah super happy that Ben got to experience it that was the first thing that my wife asked when I called her
After she was like how how was Ben and Ben was just like a kid in a a candy store he was just so thankful for the the opportunity and did it did a great job so uh without further Ado uh let’s go ahead and get into the conversation
With po banero all right Orlando Magic fans we are now joined by a very special guest we’re here live in the Advent Health Training Center here with Palo banero Pao first of all thank you for taking the time and how you doing today sir I’m doing good doing good doing well
Awesome well pal I want to take you back to draft night first you were asked at one point that night if you had a message for magic fans and you said we’re going to win I can’t make any promises but I’m going to give you 110% and Palo you’ve delivered on that
Message so far how does it feel to have had such a big hand in turning this franchise around in a a short time and what are you most looking forward to uh with Magic basketball and playoff basketball here in Orlando yeah I think it’s just uh it’s a huge honor you know
Coming here um I just wanted to like I had said just you know get this organization back to its winning ways and get us back in in you know postseason contention all that stuff so just happy that we were able to get there you know so quick you know it’s
Only my second year only the second year that this group as a whole has been together so um I’m just proud of the work we’ve put in you know we’ve been talking about it you know since my Rook year so now that we’re actually doing it
Uh just is a testament to uh how hard we’ve worked and just our belief in each other Paulo one of my favorite things about you is how quick you are to encourage and uplift and Trust in your teammates and when they have their moments you’re not afraid to give them
Their shine why is it so important to you to be an excellent teammate and where does that come from um I think it’s just very important one because you need your team uh no one can No One Can Do Anything by theel by themselves especially in this sport you know it
Takes all 15 um and all five on the court to win and um you know I just always been a believer in uplifting your teammates and making the guys around you better so you know that’s what I try and do I try to you know bring my bring my
Best effort but also bring the best effort out of my teammates you seem obsessed like in the best possible way with being great like we go back to before the draft how important it was for you to be the number one overall pick to be the Rookie of the Year to be
An All-Star in your second year why is that so important to you and why does like being great drive you uh I’m not sure I think it’s just been something since I was young I’ve always wanted to be the best um I’ve just been obsessed with winning since a young age
Um it’s just a great feeling that never gets old so you know no matter what I’m doing or where I’m at you know I’m always trying to win and um you know coming into the NBA I think the best players win the most Pao talking about being great when you look around the
History of the league there are players that are synonymous with franchises Michael Jordan with the bulls Kobe with the Lakers Dirk with the Mavs if you to track the way that we all believe you can have you put any thought into the fact that you could be that guy for the
Magic franchise and what would that mean to you uh it would mean a lot you know just from the aspect of you know the magic drafting me um and and taking the chance on me to you know help turn around their franchise you know I don’t take that lightly you know I’m forever
Grateful for that and um yeah like you said man like you know we’re just going to keep winning and you know keep building and I plan on being here as long as I can be and U winning as much as I can pal you had a message on draft
Night for magic fans what would your message be to Magic fans now uh hopefully hopefully they’re happy with where we’re at you know this is just the beginning um I think they have a lot to be excited about not only this year but in the future and uh me and and the team
And the coaches and everybody is just going to keep building and um trying to take it all the way to the top pal b car appreciate the time man thank you so much appreciate it good luck the rest of the way okay Luke you and I have not
Talked about the interview so obviously I was very nervous right like I I don’t get Star Struck you know a lot like around these players like you know very privileged to be around these guys quite a bit but this was much more of like a formal setting that I’m used to when we
Have these conversations with the players usually you know we take a couple of times like break the ice make the guys feel comfortable we didn’t have time for that I just had to get right into the the interview with him I I think that showed a little bit um but
Yeah just really really appreciative again you know to the magic for the opportunity and and grateful for pao for taking the time but what did you think I mean dud I I’ll I’ll go off of kind of what what Ben had Ben said too but he was
Like dude Pao is just massive and that’s something we all talk about like the the closer that you get to Pao whether it’s at a game media day or instances like this that’s your first thing like you put them up next to like a normal sized human being and you’re like dude this
Guy is is ridiculous and it puts in perspective how gifted he is on the court to move like he does we hear said all the time but in when everything is put in perspective like that kid just he’s just massive and on top of that
Like just how well spoken he is we know that right like he he was you know a press conference type feel because you were standing he had just gotten out of a press conference so he’s he’s still in that head space but just so well spoken well thought out doesn’t say anything
Crazy because he thinks before he speaks I think the m maturity of him in general is really what came off to me in the interview just at all times he’s he’s maintained he’s composed and um and man just super crazy to see you have the opportunity to do that and um yeah I
Mean what for you watching now having been removed from this you know a couple days at this point for you what’s uh what was your your takeaway as far as when you watch back that on the interview uh no I mean one nervous I was
Like he walks up and I just went blank for like a good 30 seconds at the very beginning of it but what I wanted more than anything you know from that interview like when I started to Workshop like the questions I was going to ask the first thing that came to mind
Was like Hey like yes we’ve had Shaq and Penny and T-Mac and Dwight all of those guys at one point have left and when you compare that to Michael Jordan with the bulls Kobe with the Lakers Dirk with the Mavs Tim Duncan with the Spurs even
Dwayne to the heat as much as I hate to say that like those guys are synonymous with those franchises and to hear him say like that would that would mean a lot to me like this organization drafted me and put their trust in me and uh you
Know that means a lot and I want to be here as long as I can like that’s what I wanted to hear I was really really uh happy to to hear that and again just like I I tried to make it clear to him with the way that I formed that question
When I asked like if things keep going the way like if things are going going to track the way that we believe they can because as a fan base like shout out to Shaq you know maybe doesn’t believe that Pao can take that Superstar jump like he was talking about on his podcast
Earlier this week but we believe wholeheartedly this city in this fan base that Palo B Caro can take that leap to be a super duper Star in this league can be one of the very best players in the league and can take Orlando to Heights that it has never seen before in
This league and win a title and just like how much that would mean for this guy to be the one to win a title to be here you know for his entire career finally the way that some of those other guys maybe should have been um yeah that
Was the big takeaway for me is like you know he him saying like I want to be here as long as I can it’s like we can’t mess this one up y’all like I’ve been talking about this for you know I think even the end of last regular season like
Forget about waiting for him to you know have these different achievements and and reach these Heights like we need to give this kid forget the key to the city we need to give him the city we need to do whatever we can as a fan base to make
It so apparent to him how appreciative we are of him and how loved he is and and and and regarded in this city so that he never even thinks about leaving so um that that’s where I’m at that was my biggest takeaway uh you know getting to ask going into these interviews that
We have you know with different players I always try to be of the mindset of like what do magic fans want to hear because a lot of times like in these press conferences it’s it’s the same old questions over and over again and it’s just like oh how are you guys going to
Prepare to defend this team and how are you gonna you know scheme against this guy it’s like we’ve heard that a million times like there are things that fans want to hear that a lot of times don’t get asked and that was like my goal going into that interview and and also
To be fair too there’s a time and place for questions and for sure on our podcast and in that platform we have made it obviously our brand because we are fans like we we want the fan perspective we want the fan type questions we try to to you know maybe
Break a wall as hard as it is to do in the amount of time that we have with Pao I think you did a good job framing the questions and I think you did a good job with that one about you know representing this team and being you
Know the face that in the name that people think of when they think of the Orlando Magic so yeah I think that you know you you H you did it well I think you executed well I know you’re talking about being nervous I I think you you
Crushed it so the you know as far as that goes man like time and place and and I think that was the exact time and place for those questions for him and uh hopefully you guys enjoyed it as as much as we did and and just the simple fact
That that we got to have a conversation with him yeah and I didn’t I I don’t know how I came across but I didn’t mean like to um you know disregard like how important those kind of questions are in the midst of a press conference but like fans just don’t usually get the
Opportunity to get the questions that like fans really want to get answers to so when we have the opportunity we try to ask those questions even sometimes if we’re in a press conference and we’re like hey this might be an uncomfortable question but fans want to know and
Because we have that privilege we try to do that when we can last thing I want to say about this um it’s just like this was a dream come true like getting to interview pal Bank Carol one-on-one any body out there that has this is going to
Be mad corny I really do not care anybody out there that has any kind of dream or anything that you’re passionate about anything that you want to do all you need to do is actually want to do it a lot of people say they want to do
Something but they want the result they don’t care about the process they don’t want the process if you want something bad enough and you’re okay with the process just keep doing it it doesn’t matter if you’re not good at it at first you can get good at things but if
There’s something that you really want to do out there like to me this show is a testament of you know Three Guys Five Guys eight guys nine guys the everybody on our team that like if you really want to do something and you are willing to
Put in the work and you treat people the right way things will eventually happen so I’m going to wrap up my little cornball Spiel I don’t know if you want to add anything to that or if we want to get into the state of the magic yeah
Before we do I mean just to add to the end of it like it’s as simple as show up and do the work like that’s that’s it you the consistency is legitimately the key right like you you and I didn’t stumble in into that and we’re grateful
For it but you know two two days a week recording postgame lives now you know Kevin holding it down doing that after every game and not missing a game and holding to our commitments treating people the right way it’s all gotten to this point and it just it’s crazy
Because I feel like we we do this type of thing all the time now on the show because we just keep having the moments that just don’t seem real um they were truly just two magic fans and more of us that are on obviously uh on the on the
Team with us but yeah that’s the last thing to add to show up do the work be kind to people be consistent let’s go all right let’s go ahead Luke pivot to the state of the magic this week the magic are 1 and0 so far this week just
One game on Wednesday over in the Brooklyn Nets they currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 38 28 now 13 and a half games back of Boston four games back of Cleveland and Milwaukee a half game back of New York
Who sits at 4 we’re a game and a half now up on Philadelphia and Indiana two and a half games up on Miami and by the way Luke we looked at it right before we started recording here as of right now per FanDuel your Orlando Magic are the
Betting favorites to be the Southeastern division winners this year which is incredible uh we’re six games up on the Chicago Bulls eight games up on Atlanta on the season the magic are 23rd in the NBA in offensive rating with a rating of 112.8 they’re fourth in the NBA and
Defensive rating with a defensive rating of 111.3 and they’re 14th in the NBA net rating with a net rating of 1.5 since the All-Star break Luke the magic are eight and three they are 16th in offensive rating second in defensive rating fifth in overall net rating Luke
You and I had a conversation during the All-Star break of what it’s going to take for this magic team to uh continue to rise through the standings in the Eastern Conference and really finish out the regular season strong and we said you need to beat the teams that you
Should beat they’re doing a great job of that after the All-Star break again eight and three and I mention that the magic should be able to be one of the top two or three teams in defensive rating the rest of the way and so far through 11 games their second in
Defensive rating so playing really well so far since the All-Star break Luke and I mean we’ve got 16 games to go it as you go through the schedule it doesn’t feel like 10- six is out of the question it actually feels pretty possible which
You go 10 and six the rest of the way the magic would be 48 and 20 or 48 and 34 on the season which none of us believed was possible going back to October no no it seems ridiculous to say and but it’s realistic and you and I I mean
We’ve talked about it right like my boldest prediction came when I said the magic would finish as the six seed like kind of like our final thing before the season started had us finishing above the heat which at the time felt even a little outlandish and maybe I was being biased
In my prediction but I was feeling good the season was about to start everybody was zero and zero and I was like I think I went down the the standings and I said the magic can genuinely finish sixth I would love to find that in my notes now
That we’re getting here towards the end to find out what I what I had the you know in that prediction but yeah I it’s crazy to me that you could legitimately finish the season with that many wins and who knows where you find yourself in the standings at that
Point above six I would say well so I I have the magic going 10 and six you know the the rest of the way here like when you just break down the schedule and two of your last three games which currently I do not have as wins on on on the
Schedule here but two of those last three games are both against Milwaukee so if the magic you know they’re they have you know 30 or or 47 wins by that point they’re going into that April 10th game versus Milwaukee there’s a chance you know the magic might only be you
Know two games back of two or even three in the Eastern Conference and there is a nonzero chance Luke that that final game of the regular season Sunday April 14th which tips off at 1:00 at home there is a nonzero chance Luke that that game
Could be for the second or third uh seed in the Eastern Conference it is absolutely insane to say that the magic you they have to get a little bit lucky they’d have to get hot they’d have to play you know even a little bit better than they’ve been playing the last
Couple of weeks if they can stay healthy I think that’s possible especially the way that you know jayen Suggs looks like he just transforms and and shifts this team pretty crazy to think about that I don’t know is there a 5% chance that that Sunday April 14th game is for the
Two or three seed in the Eastern Conference I I I think there might be a small chance that that could be the case and I’m kind of looking back at beginning of season stuff too Jonathan ESPN projected and this is really not a knock ESPN this is just how ridiculous
This team has been performing above expectations ESPN had the magic winning 38 games this year and with your win tonight against the Brooklyn Nets the magic have won 38 games you would have to lose out for those for that ESPN prediction to come true and also I’m I’m looking here at
Like my projections for the season like I just was talking about yeah I had bucks one Sixers 2 which whatever Celtics 3 four Cavs five Nicks six magic and then uh Heat at seventh Bulls e eight Pacers ninth Hawks 10 so even that like I the possibility the magic could
Finish better than that still is crazy to me and the fact that like you look at the standings it’s like Nick and Magic are are right there at four and five jocking for position it’s wild to think that even you know the most like a really realistic thing is that the
Knicks and the magic are going to continue to jockey for a really just homecourt advantage in a 4 five matchup as much as I maybe don’t desire that it’s wild to think that the magic are even thinking about competing for home court advantage and more at this
Point let’s go to the injury report uh Jaylen Suggs returned to well Jaylen Suggs and Marquel folz both returned to the lineup Wednesday against Brooklyn Jaylen after missing the last two games Marquel after missing the last game good to get both of those guys back into the
Lineup and then Luke Tuesday we had a woe bomb Orlando mat related pretty unexpected for you know the the second week here in March but the magic and Jamal Mosley have agreed on an extension that is going to keep Jamal around through the 2027 2028 season now Luke
There’s a little bit of confusion here for me because uh W Adrien wowski tweeted out that this was a four-year extension however Jamal Mosley’s original contract with the magic was a four-year deal which really wouldn’t finish until next year but that extension runs four years out from now
So it really seems like it’s a three-year extension seems like there’s a little bit of confusion there probably doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things Luke but you and I literally had talked about Jamal mosy being extended on the last episode but at least I was convinced that that would
Not happen until this summer like that’s just usually the timing where those types of things happened I know we talk a little bit about that later on with our our conversation with Jeff Turner Luke uh but what was your uh reaction to the the Jamal Mosley extension
News well welld deserved I wouldn’t say it was a shock but anytime you have W tweeting about your team you you you get a little tightened up a little bit and and so to see that it was good news and uh depending on how you look at it if you don’t think that
Jamal Mosley extension is good news then you’re out of your mind I saw a lot of irresponsible Jamal mostly takes after your two straight losses that you took you know it’s only the the first back-to-back losses since the end of January give Jamal Mosley a break and
With the young team in how ahead of schedule I think we get really wrapped up in the present and we don’t think about the fact that yes of course he has his flaws but the front office is is projecting and it’s always a good sign when they’re projecting that their coach
Can be a coach of the future that isn’t just a bridge the gap coach like some of us myself included once thought that once it was time to win that we would maybe see that door revolve but now it seems the ball is in Jamal Mosley’s
Court it is now in his court and I do think that there is some strategy to this I asked you know in our JT interview I asked him about this but I do think there’s some strategy in in in giving this extension as maybe serves as encouragement and like affirmation and
I’m sure Jamal knows good and well where he stands with his front office and he can read the writing on the wall that they are ahead of schedule but I think it was a a nice thing to do I think it was the right thing to do I think it was
The encouraging thing to do to give him this extension before playoff basketball hey we’re in your corner we’re making this public right it’s different to encourage in private and and affirm in private but to make it public and and encourage and endorse somebody publicly like that hey we’re rocking with you
Till at least this point and it’s just up to you to make things happen and get some wins and continue to win that’s super encouraging and I think that it was a great move by this front office yeah for me not not surprising at all that he got the extension like I
Said we fully expected that to come this summer I was surprised by the timing just because again you don’t typically see these moves at this point in the season but when you look at Jamal Mosley’s body of work obviously the first year 22 and 60 didn’t really have
A ton to work with there there were you know a lot of injuries that plagued that team as well but the second year you have the 12- win Improvement you go from 22 wins to 34 wins magic were already sitting at 38 wins with 16 games to go I
Think you know it would be pretty crazy if the magic didn’t at least go8 and8 over those last last 16 games which 8 and eight at the bare minimum would be another 12 improvement from the season before in which you got eliminated from the postseason in like your 79th game if
I’m remembering correctly so just the the upward trajectory and the way that he’s been able to improve this team year after year yes the roster has gotten better yes the front office has done a great job with free agency and drafting but anybody that thought the magic
Should move on from Jamal Mosley when over the course of two seasons he gives you at least a 24- win Improvement you know 12 wins you know at least seems like year after year and the way that this team like the the culture and the chemistry you ask anybody in the
Organization who that starts with from like top to bottom like to a man they credit Jamal Mosley with the culture and the expectations that he has set in that building so yeah it was a foregone conclusion that this was going to happen super excited for Jamal Mosley and yeah
Here’s to him getting another extension you know three or four years years from now would love nothing more than for Jamal Mosley to become the most tenured winningest first ever to win a title coach with the Orlando Magic so a big you know congratulations Jal Mosley welld deserved Luke you have anything
Else that you want to mention on this um I mean at this point he is what this is this is year three correct um so for for him like the the most the longest 10e coach obviously Brian Hill at six years I I think there’s no reason to
Think that he can’t surpass surpass that a lot can happen in that amount of years but same time you’re concluding year three you’re on the right trajectory that’s only three more seasons to complete to to be there as long as Brian Hill it is it is just wild
To me that he’s already able to be in those convers ation of being a longest tene magic head coach and winning a title would absolutely help that and to become the first and you think about like him and Stan Van Gundy like Brian Hill Stan Van Gundy like the most
Revered coaches in Magic history Jamal Mosley has a real real shot to become part of that conversation and maybe known as the best and there’s a lot of lot of way to go but it’s a possibility in the fact that the door is open for from Al Mosley being that this is his
First head coaching gig is more than impressive got a long way to go but the results so far have been pretty good so let’s uh just just keep it rolling that way and again uh big congratulations to Jamal Mosley now Luke let’s go to tonight’s game as we’re recording this
Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets so obviously you had a big win over the Brooklyn Nets a couple of weeks ago as revenge for them kicking the crap out of you a couple of times early in the season this was a must-win coming back off of two straight really really ugly
Losses Luke and I personally love the way that the magic came out and responded we’re up 33 to 16 after the first quarter had that 17-point lead again early in the second quarter uh but things got a little bit hairy there uh Brooklyn scores 38 points in that second
Quarter you’re only up seven heading into the half but then you outscore Brooklyn 32-23 take a commanding lead going into the fourth quarter and with like I I don’t know it felt like three or four minutes left Brooklyn was only down 10 12 points and Kevin olly the
Interim head coach for the Brooklyn Nets just sort of decided to wave the White Flag it felt like a little bit early you know my rule if your team is uh down by more than 10 with under five minutes to go the game is almost always over but
You don’t really see teams act on that a ton uh but really really impressive night for a few guys Jaylen Suggs obv obviously was huge in that first quarter especially 14 points on the night for him four of eight from the floor Palo ban Caro with a super quiet 21 points
Nine assists three rebounds six of six from the floor eight of nine from the free throw line fron vogner 14 points five rebounds six assists Wendell with 15 Gary with 13 Marquel with 10 ji with 11 ji with the the step back triple in the second half that I legitimately
Almost passed out from uh when Jamal mostly talks about like doing it by committee this is like the perfect prime example of that and the magic defended well they moved the ball really well tonight I believe it was 29 assists on 40 field goals made really really impressive stuff for the magic tonight
And got back Luke to playing Magic Basketball coming into tonight the biggest thing was you know Jaylen Suggs back in the lineup Andrew report becoming essentially clean with Mark Al folz also returning Jaylen Suggs making his presence felt I mean listen he gets the knocks the rust off with his first three
That completely bricked but then he gets to the rim and played a huge part in the beginning of the game you look in the magiker up 10 to2 Brooklyn already taking a timeout and then you look and you’re up 24 to 11 it’s like man this is incredible the
The first quarter you had 12 assists you’re on Pace for 48 assists after that first quarter slows down a little bit there obviously you end with 29 still you know that’s still a good assist number to end on the magic shooting you know had a obviously that first quarter you play
Great defense on top of that you shoot five of nine from three but then that first half if there was anything negative to take from this game is the the end of the first half right like you were alluding to but they were up 58 to 43 and then with 220
Left they were up 58 to 43 or 220 left but then kind of starting backtracking from like the 2 minute 42 Mark left in the first half this was what happened and took place for the Nets to then cut the lead to seven go on an 113 run to close the half
Turnover Marquel folz bad pass Foltz misses layup Wendell gets called for traveling sugs bad pass sugs misses the layup at the buzzer which whatever but regardless you missed the layup to end the to end the half all of those things played a part in this run by the Nets
And it just it can’t happen you can’t let any opponent have life to in the half and feel good about themselves that’s when you put your foot on their neck and don’t do dumb things like travel throw the ball away those sort of just the simple turnovers that this team
Seems to struggle with some of the time and it’s we we just continue talking about like how how does this team and their habits how is it going to translate to playoff basketball that is an example of what can’t happen come playoff time and unfortunately it did happen and you put
Yourself in a spot where you’re down we only up SE single digits where a majority of the first half you were up by double digits you won the first quarter 33 to6 so that was really the only thing tonight that I was like oh man that stinks I mean the eight first half
Turnovers Not Awesome by any means you buckle down in that second half I think you finish with like 13 14 I know it’ll vary by ESPN or NBA sites but that was the my my one critical takeaway but I mean Jonathan Isaac like you said hitting threes jayen Suggs was
Awesome everybody played relatively well Palo Ben Cara as Wendell Carter alluded to was setting the table all night just kind of picking and choosing his spots not getting sped up playing that distributor roll nine assists could have easily had double digits some some easy you know misses
There but I was I was proud this team got back in the win column like they did and asserted themselves this game was not was not as close as 114 to 106 yeah I feel like and sort of like tweeted this at half is like this game
Felt like it should have been a 20 like point lead at the half and you’re sitting there it’s at seven and Dante and Jeff were talking about like if you’re Orlando it’s like we got to figure out a way to have better closes to the half and if you’re Brooklyn it’s
Like we play like garbage and we’re still only down seven and you talked about Jonathan Isaac in his shooting bison tweeted tonight that a Brooklyn Nets guard cam after the game said uh Jonathan Isaac making contested threes those are shots we live with and then he followed up the Tweet with Jonathan
Isaac is shooting 45% in his last 30 games from behind the arc now it’s 44 attempts it’s relatively low volume but that is promising that you know ji started the the year pretty rough from behind the arc a lot of air balls hitting the side of the backboard maybe
He was just knocking off three years of rust but like recently this last stretch like he’s hitting uh you know spot up threes he’s you know that one dribble to the mid-range pull up he’s knocked down some of those knocked down some turnarounds as well if you’re getting like decent shooting from
Jonathan Isaac to go along with the elite defense that is just such a massive bonus and he can be a massive game changer for the magic down the stretch here in come playoff time and Luke to your point about the turnovers like we’re now 66 games I think it is
Into the regular season turnovers have been an issue all year long I don’t expect the magic to just wake up one day and be a team that doesn’t turn the ball over a ton and going into the playoffs like that is absolutely going to be a
Problem it may help the magic with how much like playoff Pace slows down and teams aren’t really running as much and getting out on the break so that may help the magic a little bit alleviate some of those turnovers but I don’t know how many like passes we have to see with
Guys leaving their feet or just like lazy bounce passes that go off of somebody’s foot and end up in the other team’s hands and they’re going the other way but that in the free throw shooting there was you know a lot of Miss free throws in this game as well especially
Early on and to me no team is perfect every team has their weaknesses but when it comes to turnovers free throw shooting don’t even have to mention the three-point shoot like the three-point shooting if that’s happening that that’s really uh that’s a great thing like it
Was for the magic tonight but the the free throw shooting and the turnovers those seem like the easiest things in the world to sort of clean up and yet the magic have struggled with that all year long but again to your point really really happy that the magic just got
Back in the win column we’ve been saying this for the last couple of months but just like win the win the games that you should you can only play your schedule and the magic continue to win the games that they should so hopefully we can keep that going here Luke I would love
To know the last time that the magic it maybe it was recently and I it’s slipping my mind mind but we know the formula for this team I loved to know the last time the magic get outscored in the paint by eight plus points and still end up winning the
Game 114 to 106 tonight you’re hitting your threes obviously thankfully you shoot 43.8% only 32 attempts I mean relatively in line with the average you’re crawling up to like 31 territory also tonight when you talk about Jonathan Isaac it’s notable that though he was half to 20 minutes and obviously you know garbage
Time plays a little bit of a part in this maybe but Johan Isaac played the most minutes off the bench tonight Marquel FS 19 minutes and honestly I’d go to say garbage time doesn’t even matter at that point because marel wouldn’t have been I didn’t mean for it to come across
This way Marquel fultz was not going to be playing in the closing minutes anyway Jonathan Isaac with 20 minutes would have been regardless of garbage time the leader in minutes played maybe I would venture to say that this might be like the second or third time that’s happened
This year just because that one game where he played 23 or 24 minutes he probably was the leader on the bench in minutes so all good signs Jonathan Isaac hitting shots Jonathan Isaac playing 20 minutes in a game give me 20 minutes 20 ji minutes in a playoff game and I’ll be
I’ll be happy at this point he was a plus n the best Off the Bench so so doing really good things and three of five from three across the board sucks four of eight from three you’ve said it before as a size and a side Jaylen Suggs anytime he shoots a
Three now especially if he’s wide open I’m like oh it’s going in and it does the stroke looks nice no pause and um and he’s knocking him down I just it’s it it blows me away every game I’m like I cannot believe this is the same dude who shoot like 20%
From three as rookie year going back to Jonathan Isaac there he’s only had six games this year where he’s played more minutes than he did tonight and like you said had this game come down to the wire there’s probably a good chance that he’s in this game for
The last you know few minutes and uh this probably ends up like his you know second or third you know most minutes played this season so the fact that he was put into the game so early on uh I think I think think you might have you mentioned it while we’re recording or
Were we talking about before where Jonathan Isaac mentioned tonight that Jamal Mosley or maybe that was Kevin before we started recording Jamal Mosley I guess said after the game tonight or Jonathan Isaac said that Jamal Mosley said that he was going to be playing more minutes at the five down the
Stretch so all of that tends to point towards Jonathan Isaac ramping up the minutes this time of the year sort of getting him ready to play I don’t know 25 minutes 27 maybe even 30 minutes minutes going to the playoffs I don’t I don’t know that we’ll get there but if
You’re getting 27 minutes a game from Jonathan Isaac in the playoffs I I like our chances against almost anybody and one last thing to add is just kind of a nugget you can see now that the roster is is relatively healthy Jonathan Isaac is playing and ramping up playing 20
Minutes you can tell if you’re if you’re paying close attention Jamal Mosley is gearing up for playoff type rotations and what he wants to do and tinkering we’ve talked about that he’s trying new things tonight in this game the magic had like apart from garbage time the magic
Had like four maybe new rotations like groups of guys that we have not seen touch the court together this year and so that’ll be something that like you just are a ble to continue to track and we’ll see how they perform together and if Mosley sticks with them and
Whatnot but there was some interesting ones there was a folz Cole Anthony Pao Joe Engles ji lineup I didn’t I don’t think I hated that um and some others as well like I said but you had fultz Gary sugs poo ji that was another one and then mainly is
Just like ji getting integrated again on these rotations where like if he’s playing early minutes je I think it was Jeff Turner said this early in the broadcast but he said Jonathan Isaac playing early minutes are a great sign that he is going to play a decent amount
That night so and he does goes on to play 20 as we said and he’s in a lot of the reason that these lineups are new one of these rotations and stuff like he’s a big part of that so something to keep an eye on I know I’m going to be
Keeping an eye on it and seeing how these lineups are doing and and and as we get closer we’re going to continue to see how how Mosley is thinking about doing his rotations come postseason let’s take a minute to talk about our patreon so our patreon is the

Go to jamhot chicken.com access the menu online ordering play a music playlist and all things Jam HOT let them know we sent you now Luke for what has become a pretty regular segment each you know quarter of the Season every 20 21 games or so um Jeff Turner
Has been really generous with us the last couple of years to sit down and just reflect on you know what has happened the last quarter of this season take a look a little bit ahead this one was one of my favorite conversations that I’ve had that we we’ve had I should
Say uh with Jeff Turner especially when you know he gave his thoughts on you know what would be like his preferred playoff matchup I think people are going to have pretty strong opinions one way or the other about that but uh yeah let’s go ahead and get to our
Conversation with our good pal Jeff Turner all right magic fans we have a very special guest with us we’re we’re making a habit of this and we absolutely love that back for every quarter season check in here with Jeff Turner Jeff how are you my friend and welcome back
Thanks for taking the time no problem this is uh you know I get all the quarter polls here I guess right we’re at the three quarter poll is that where we are that that is where we’re at here all right hopefully the next check-in will be like after the playoffs you know
Not the end of the regular season but you know hopefully we’ll have a playoff series to to talk about the next time that we uh meet with you Jeff but uh today as we’re recording this on Tuesday this morning uh the uh contract extension for Jamal Mosley was announced
By the magic met with the you know magic media today and and discussed that Jee I just wanted to ask like first of all just how excited and happy are you for Jamal and what growth have you seen from Jamal over the past three years sort of leading up to this much deserved
Extension yeah I think um I am so happy for Jamal I mean you know you you guys uh have better anybody that comes in contact with him knows he’s just a he’s just a really good human being right like he treats everybody with such respect um you know as far as the growth
I think the growth in him as a coach is you know was reflected in the team itself um you know just you it’s really been fun to watch because he’s he made it a point early in his first year he wanted to keep everything very
Simple um you know and and I think one of his Motts was dominate the simple right and he just um each year he’s challenged the guys and you know that it’s really the first time in a long time that I just feel like the team has
An identity and you know I mean it’s like you know when you when you’re a player in the NBA you know you you immediately you think of the opposing teams you know you go around the league well well the Lakers are this or the Celtics are this you know I think around
The league you know you listen to coaches talk before games and everything and um you know they all talk about this is a um this is a defensive a strong defensive team they they play with physicality and things like that those are characteristics you know that um
That that are hard right like it’s it’s easy to coach a bunch of guys and say hey we’re GNA run up and down and you know we’re gonna score a lot of points and whatever but to get guys to buy in to doing all the hard things um really
Takes a special coach and I think that to me is um you know it’s probably overused but the guy you know the kids on the team use it all the time it’s like it’s his superpower right it’s like it his ability to communicate with this
Group of uh young men um and get them to understand what needs to be done and to play for each other um you know it’s it’s it’s just been great and you know I think Jamal would tell you that he has grown as a coach you know his um you
Watch him on the sideline you know he he really uh you know whether it’s timeouts or substitutions or everything he’s just got a he’s got a better feel for all of that it’s you you can be an assistant coach for a long time and and this was
You know we used to always laugh David still and I would laugh because when Chuck Daly was our head coach and everything you know and and we sat right there uh by the you know by the coaching bench where he was standing he would always turn to his you know assistants
And you know sometimes he’d say hey all you Geniuses you know you you guys guys all want my chair and everything you know give me something give me some solutions and then he would go over and he said it’s hot in this chair this chair is really hot you know and a lot
Of pressure in this chair and so to move from being an assistant into that chair and understanding uh the responsibility of it um I think uh he’s done a great job of that I’m just I’m just thrilled and you know for the for the amount of
Years that he’s going to get is is great as well we talk a lot about layer contract extension but I wouldn’t say we focus a lot on coaching contract extensions for the most part right when it comes to players you often hear like once they once they get that extension they
Basically just say like I’m I’m glad I’ve wiped my hands of that now I can just go out and play and play free do you think that maybe there was some strategy with the front office and maybe Mosley might not get caught up in it as
Much as a player thinks about it but do you think that there’s some logic and strategy to it give giving him that extension before playoff basketball so that there’s no thought about that I I don’t know genuinely asking because I I don’t know like obviously we don’t know
Where his headp space is but but just that question that comparison between a player and how they think about an extension versus a coach yeah I you know I don’t I wouldn’t I don’t know that I could speak for Jeff welman and you know why you know and everything but I just
Know you know I’m sure from Jamal standpoint just knowing him um you know over the last few years you know his whole thing is you know I do the work and I’ll you know it it you that’s what I can control I’ll just do the work and I’ll be prepared I’ll have
Them prepared um and then kind of let the chips you know play out follow where they will or however you whatever you however you want to say it um I think you know from the team standpoint I think you know you’re looking at it we’re more wins than we had last season
Uh you know you’re you’re seeing growth um if you’re watching closely you see the relationship that Jamal has not only with his own players but players around the league um you really have a genuine affection for him too um so you know it’s probably the right time to you know
To reward him because it’s deserving and you know he is one of the Bright Young coaches in our league um I I honestly and it’s probably there are so many guys doing great coaching jobs this year but like when people are filling out their ballots like they gotta be thinking
About Jamaal Mosley right when they’re thinking about coach of the year he may not win it could win it I don’t know um again there’s so many guys doing great work in our league young coaches but at least you got to think about him right you you gotta think goly man what Jamal
Mosy is doing down in Orlando is pretty special um and I think that’s uh you know that’s a sign that you know when you get the respect of you know the media and his peers um that’s pretty special completely agree Jeff we want to go back to uh really the game since we
Talked to you uh you know about a month and a half ago you know we’ve checked in roughly every 20 21 games or so like you mentioned at the quarter pole marks last time that we talked to the magic were 23 and 21 six since then um they’ve gone 14
And seven over those games they’ve been the 20th ranked offense in the league the fourth ranked defense and have’ been eighth in the league in net rating again 14- seven in those 21 games and now they sit in the fifth uh spot in the Eastern Conference a half game back of the
Knicks and a half game up on the Philadelphia 76ers last time that we talked to you the magic were really banged up there in the middle of that brutal January stretch and since then have really been stringing some wins together especially you know after the All-Star break other than health maybe
Which we all know is a big factor what do you think has been like the biggest difference with this team in helping them in their ability to win games well I think you know the one thing that has been a constant all season is the one you know the defensive ranking right
It’s I think maybe for a week we fell out of the top five but for the most part you know we’ve been a top five ranked defense in the league that’s huge um you can win games even if you’re you know playing poorly on the offensive end
Um you know the health is important um and I and I think the depth of this team when they are healthy um there’s just so many places you know that you can go as a coach um where you can you know I think we’ve seen since the allar break
Now we’ve had guys in and out of the lineup but for the most part the bench right that that that second unit has been pretty much intact yeah you know we’ve lost jayen Suggs a little bit you know Marquel is been in and out I think
We lost Wendell for a game but um you know basically what you’ve seen is Jamal Mosley used that depth that you know Goa Bazi get the experience he got in it rather than move Mo Vagner around out that second move Mo go into the starting line that when Wendell you know his knee
Was bothering and you know at that guard position when you’re arresting Gary Harris or when jayen was hurt you know he’s really not touching that second unit um and leaving it intact letting it grow together um I think you know that that part of the coaching has made that
Possible and then of course you know I mean you guys were teasing me I remember the last time we were talking about the schedule coming up and you know I don’t is it tanon Luke or whatever it is you know we had this conversation I said oh
Well supposedly we’ve got an easy easier schedule coming up well you know you’ve kind of seen that play out a little bit now you know I’m a five game segment guy I don’t look much further than that um but you’re starting to see we’re taking care of business against the teams that
We’re supposed to um you know what are we 21 and eight on the season against sub 500 teams I I think it’s in that number somewhere that’s that’s really good you know that’s that’s what you have to do and we’ve had a heavy dose of those teams and we’ve you know I think
That’s a big part of the of the winning and hopefully you know I’m assuming we’re still in the top 10 in that category you guys will have to fill me in on that but um you the the strength of schedule um but it looks from my eyes
That there’s a lot of games that we should win right we should win going down the stretch yeah we’re shouldn’t in a remaining strength schedule so still have one of the easier uh schedules remaining yeah yeah you’ve got along the way here two against Charlotte one against the Blazers the Grizzlies two
Against Toronto as we know one against Brooklyn as we know and one against Houston Jeff you talked about just taking care of the games you’re opposed to being a sign of maturity just now and in the same vein and just talking about the maturity of this team we’ve been
Seeing the magic shooting the basketball better from three obviously you have the outing against New York that we’ll forget about and never going to talk about again but for the most part in the stat show the team has been great shooting the basketball compared to what they were doing
Right but despite that they’re not getting too trigger happy with the threes they’re still hovering around like 30 to 31 threes at the most per game can you just talk about how impressive that is for people who maybe don’t know and and don’t think about but how impressive that is that this young
Team hasn’t just fallen in love with a three ball because they know at the end of the day what their bread and butter is yeah I think that’s something that um you know you you you watch and I think they’ve learned you know that you know
When they do you know and they do uh you know and sometimes fall in love with it you know they get frustrated trying to score we saw it against the Knicks obviously um that I think that’s one of the things one I and again I think this
All goes back to coaching as well is getting your team to understand what their strengths are and really showing them on video um we’re not taking a lot of Threes but Luke as you point out that percentage is coming up a little bit and the reason is is over and over you keep
Talking about your standards and the messaging and when this team is rolling when they’re knocking down threes it’s not usually coming down off the dribble and pulling up a three right it’s because they’re moving the ball they’re getting good paint uh paint penetration they’re getting into the teeth of the
Defense collapsing and kicking it out for wideopen set threes um Jaylen Suggs has been living off of that um you know he’s done a great job getting he understands what that means now he does it you know the coaches particular Jeremiah Boswell our shooting coach
Spends a lot of time with he and Anthony black and just you know moving into spots moving into areas understanding how um you know if a guy’s driving this way moving into his line of vision setting your feet shooting balance feet set threes um and so I think that
Constant repetition and that constant messaging is um it’s important um in that maturity um that you’re taking the right kind of shots um so you know I think that’s a big part of it but and that being said and you know you got we may you know talk about this moving
Forward I think you know we’ve got to grow some more you know there’s still a lot of growth because as we’ve seen against New York and against Indiana as the physicality of the end of the season and on into of the playoffs you know and you’re not getting easy drives into the
Pain and things like that is teams are scouting a little better and you know okay well with the magic this is this this is what they do well what can we take away um maybe some of those shots will be harder to get but you still have
To remain disciplined that you know it’s still not the shot you want a you know a a running off-balance three-pointer um or something like that so um you know it’s going to get more difficult and that’s part of um you know what we should be looking for going down the
Stretch is how the maturity of this team what they’ve done so far can they translate it now as things start getting tougher Jeff a couple of minutes ago you you sort of alluded to like guys being in and out of the lineup you yourself have sort of experienced guys in and out
Of the lineup this year with David steel not traveling as much and Dante marelli sort of filling in roles obviously David is an all-time great at what he does and we have raved again and again on our show about how great of a job Dante marelli has done this year in filling in
For David seal and some of those games what has that adjustment been like for you I know you have great chemistry already with Don D what that’s like what is that like for you like going from like one game where you’re calling with with Dante and then David and sort of
Back and forth what’s that been like for you this year oh it’s been it’s you know it’s been a I mean it’s it’s it keeps me on my toes right like it’s um you know like I the only way and I told you guys this before that you know like with
David it’s like I I just feel it’s like you know two guys like watching a game together you know could be in living room and we’re just talking about the game of basketball we’ve been doing it so long we’re such good friends that it’s just I I swear I could just sit
Down watch a game and it would be fine with Dante the chemistry is there I think that’s what people tell me they enjoy the two of us together but it’s like it’s like anything it’s like you know playing with a you know playing basketball with a you know 15-year
Veteran and playing basketball with a with a rookie there’s there’s you know maybe there’s a lot more energy you know Dante is very energetic um you know he get he’s excited it gets me excited um you know we both make mistakes you know sometimes that you know like David never makes mistakes
Right like you know but um it it’s just it’s just it’s different and for me it’s you know I’m just enjoyed it it’s it’s it’s refreshing you know it’s um it’s uh you know not that you’re in a rut but it’s like you know it forces you to you
Know Dante forces me to think about the game differently because he’ll just in the middle of the he’ll ask me a question you know and I I gotta answer it you know I gotta stay on my toes so um you know I I think it’s been good
I’ve really enjoyed I hope magic fans have enjoyed it as well just a different just a different way of you know enjoying the broadcast um so I think that’s um that’s good I know you know the the the guy Dante’s biggest fan is David steel um you know David has been very
Complimentary of Dante and you know really thinks he’s got a chance to be really good and so I you know if I’m Dante marelli that’s about as high of Praise as I can get so um that’s pretty good couldn’t agree more obviously we all love Dante Dante’s been good to
Jonathan and I and and our producer Kevin specifically so can’t say you know enough good things about him and excited to see his growth um like you said alluded to him as like the rookie we’ve seen that with our own rookies on the team we’ve seen that with Jamal Mosley
They get better as time goes the magic can’t can’t seem to help but develop guys well now but as far as you know you talked about this earlier like I I only talk about the game of b or the schedule and and Magic basketball in groups of
Five but I want to kind of fast forward to we’re we’re coming up on the postseason the postseason we we can almost taste it and we you know I was on a show previewing um the magic Nicks game last week and they asked me you know who are you thinking about as far
As matchups like do you have you thought I was like listen a week ago I wouldn’t have even talked to you about matchups because I’ve seen things get derailed before but now I feel comfortable and we can talk about it all right here we go
Throw it for for you for you Jeff is there any team that you’ve thought about that oh you know and playing them I would love to play these guys yeah or there are teams that we’ve played that you’re like I don’t even want to play against any of those guys if the
Playoffs start today we play the Knicks so but obviously it’s not what gonna happen but I mean it gets you thinking for sure right so I I don’t even know I’m just gonna go here right because this is who I am right like so like I love I I’m a competitor right and
So I and you also maybe know that I am not I like a good rivalry right like and and and so and I am alone in my and you guys are know where I’m going and you’re probably thinking no JT no this is not one I want
But like for me like part of me know a lot of me really I really want the Heat and I know it’s like they’re just a t look at you D there’s not a team on the planet Earth that I despise more than the heat there
You go there you go that’s what I’m talking about right like I want I want I want it to be a rivalry right like we’ve had in 35 years of Magic Basketball 36 years of the Miami Heat we’ve only been in the playoffs together one we’ve only
Met one time right back in the 95 96 or 96 997 season with Penny Hard Away was it was I think it was even a five game series back then right there’s nothing to generate right we haven’t really been good at the same times uh you know in a
Long time and so kind of at this point I just think it would be fun think about like The Passion of the crowds like I mean you know just the the broadcast and everything and would there be John seriously I know they beaten us three times this year right we we we strugg
Eric spoler mucks up the game he makes it hard and everything but what if like what if you beat the Miami Heat like talk to me now wouldn’t what kind of feeling would that be that’s all I’m selling right like wouldn’t that be that would be playoff basketball at now some
People hear me and say say yeah but why can’t it be in the second round you know well okay but you asked me the question Luke so I’m just being honest it’s probably not you know like who we match up the best with but you know I’m one of
These guys that think you know like yeah would it be a struggle would it be hard but like the payoff what would the payoff be you know if you had bragging rights in the state of Florida huh that would be pretty good there’s two outcomes in this hypothetical twoe
Window of a magic Heat playoff series the best week of my life and the absolute worst week of my life there’s no but let me ask you this like every time we play the heat isn’t it like in if when if we lose right isn’t it just
The worst thing ever like it’s exactly so you know like yeah but you just have to weigh like put the put your Pros in cons list together and think about the pros like wow you know like isn’t there somebody down in South Florida that you’re just dying to say you know like
Ha I told you so you know something like that I I I mean I’m just throwing it out there now who do we match up with better I don’t know you know we beaten the Knicks three times but they weren’t healthy we beaten the Pacers we own the
Season series with them you know Cleveland’s banged up and everything like that yeah you know that’s that’s great but then does it have the same like when you think about it does it have a man if we beat the heat now that that would be maybe it’s too soon maybe
It’s too soon I don’t know but we’ll see well we’ve we’ve talked about it we’ve we’ve talked about it before and I love your Zeal you’re definitely a competitor as you said but we’ve talked about it before and we’ve said we feel this is a a rivalry but it feels very one-sided at
This point right yeah and so we would love nothing more than for it to become two-way two side like you said Jeff that’s what this would hopefully accomplish as long as you get two games I think that you would earn some respect you can’t get swept and you you can’t
Get gentleman swept it can’t happen it can’t because we’ll never hear the end of it and then they’re going to be in Kia and it’s going to be that would be a a nightmare to he let’s go Heat chance in the playoffs and in Kia but there is
A lot of payoff there and and you’ve got me thinking because before I was I was thinking matchups and so I was saying you know the Pacers who allow the most points in the paint I said this on the show that I would love that but when it
Comes to the heat yeah the narrative is there the the Florida rivalry I think you could really drum something up there Jonathan are you are you completely wanting to steer away from the Heat or are you slowly becoming more on board or you just scared of the outcome well to
Be perfectly honest like bands of the show have heard me say this for years I have never thought that the heat are all that like yeah they’ve made runs to the finals but like last year they snuck in you know through the playin and they just had one of the greatest like
Shooting apparitions we’ve ever seen in the history of the playoffs they went from the worst shooting Team all season long to the best shooting team you know all play their entire playoff run last year so I I don’t know to answer Jeff’s question about do I have like a fan in
South Beach that I would want message there’s about 10,000 of them on Twitter that I would absolutely love to rub a magic playoff victory in their face all right you talked me into it Jeff let’s get crazy so you know what what’s happening is so like I I’ve said this I’ve been
Posing this just within you know the our little broadcast thing and uh I’m not getting a lot of backing but um one of the things that Dante keeps telling me he’s like man you keep talking about this you’re G to speak it into existence and so if it happens if it happens you
Know you heard it here first it’s okay we can do this right like you just you know we got we we’re a tough crew and everything but yeah anyway but I know where you matchup wise you know I look at the Pacers and I you know we do match
Up well with them you know but they their strengths and our strengths kind of you know bang heads a little bit but I don’t know yeah know now Jeff for if that happens and it doesn’t go well you’re obligated to come back on the show to talk about what you
Spoke into existence and what now I’m a littleit roting you know I mean but it’ll have already started the Rivalry will be there you know what I mean because you know magic fans I just I just wanted to get to be where like magic fans you know and I get people you
Know there are some people and I don’t you know I don’t know a lot of their names but like you can you could sell you know your magic tickets to your friends that are Heat fans or something like that but I want it to be where I’ll
Sell them to anybody else but I will never sell them to a Heat fan you know that wouldn’t that be nice you know where we don’t have to hear those chants in Kia Center that would be you know at some point we gota we got to get a
Little dislike going here that’s um and we’re not hatred not hatred just dislike that’s all I’m looking for that’s all I’m looking for I have to add this so Jeff we have a group night coming up this is a quick plug here we have a group night coming up March 30th against
The Grizzlies where we’ve already sold out the tickets but the magic are being so kind as to give us onc Court Access like at 1 pm the the for two hours right and there’s gonna be 60 of us we’re GNA split it up do 10minute games whatever I
Have a Heat fan in my life who was absolutely one of my best friends Jeff I told him about this and he said hey like what can you do for me I said absolutely nothing because you’re a Miami Heat fan we’re not doing that I have I have I
Have I have a buddy that’s a Knicks fan that was like Hey if the playoffs come around and we play the Knicks let’s get tickets together I said absolutely not we’re not getting tickets together the the competitive nature runs deep and and we need it so badly when it comes to a
Rivalry I think you easily could develop one with the Knicks they already are starting to hate us they’re f cuz we beat them so many times you have it with them even though they’re not an ideal matchup you have it with the heat maybe not an ideal matchup as they defend the
Paint super well but I I I think I’m all on board with just let’s let’s use this we’re going to learn a lot of lessons about this team in the postseason but let’s use it as a rivalry building experience and I think I think you’re really on to something I was not going
In that direction at all but I think unlike your team that you haven’t really talked into it yet I you’ve got me on board I want it’s great content by the way too and we do a podcast so I’m all about it and Jeff you said this likee I hate
The heat like I genuinely despise and hate the Miami Heat so I am I’m all for it I want to ask you Jeff before we let you go here before the postseason we still got 17 games here in the the regular season for the magic a lot of
Those games being at home what are you looking for from this magic team over the course of the last 17 games I think you know can they like it it doesn’t really like we’re going to play we’re going to play some teams you know obviously that that are you know at
The bottom you know and um but what happens I think in March is particular the rest of March um you know we’re gonna play the Brooklyn Nets team right uh our next game and there’s still an outside chance they’re right just outside the playin right so they’re
Going to come with everything they have they’re going to be you know they’re going to have scouted they’re going to try to you know they’re going to throw different defenses at Paulo and France and everything so I think what I want to see um is how this team can adapt right
And knowing that the game is going to get a little bit more physical it’s um you know they’ll you know the referees will tell you that you know we don’t change the calls coming down the stretch and everything but as you get closer and closer to playoff time the physicality
Picks up they can’t call everything um and so they don’t and so that being said you’ve got teams you’re the hunt you’re in the fifth spot you got teams that are below you trying to move up trying to move you down um we’re going to be playing some Western Conference teams
You know Golden State and Sacramento the Clippers that are in playoff battles and every game matters um so I for me I want this team to really experience that but I want to see them make the adjustments um and really embrace it I guess Embrace that part of it and um and
Just grow from it I think you know I think the Knicks game to me was a it was kind of a wakeup call it gave them a little bit a young team a test right none of these guys you know outside of you know Gary Joe I guess Jonathan marel
Have have a little bit of playoff experience but the rest of them not a lot right if any um and they need to understand and feel it feel the pressure feel the expectation uh know those things and they’re going to get that and so for me um I’m looking forward to see
How they handle that um you know I I I feel very you know I told you guys the last time that the goal still should be to finish in the top six I I I I feel comfor comfortable in that that goal can be met now pretty you know with the
Strength of schedule the way the team is playing their health um that that that’s a g to me should be a given right like you’ve got to play this out and that should be your goal right you don’t want to be in the play in um and to do that
Um you’re going to have to meet these challenges that are before you so I think that’s gonna be fun to watch I think we totally agree Jeff Turner as electric as always really really appreciate this now you’ve got me thinking about playing in the Miami Heat in the playoffs never thought that I
Would say that but Jeff really really appreciate the time in thanks so much for everything all right just what my an old teammate of Mine by the name of Michael Ray Richardson used to always say scared money can’t win so like embrace it baby don’t be afraid of the
Miami Heat the New York Knicks Embrace let’s go the only way we can get there is we got to just embrace it and go for it the kids nowadays say scar money don’t make no money okay it’s a little long for me I like scared money can’t win but that’s
Okay appreciate it Jeff thanks so much talk to you guys Jeff Turner JT always appreciate him taking the time he David Dante Kendra everybody’s been doing such a great job this year on the broadcast and just appreciate Jeff taking the time Luke the Miami Heat man I cannot get
That thought out of my mind what it would mean to beat the heat in a playoff series but also the agony that it would cause me if we were to lose to the Miami Heat in a playoff series m i I mean at this point he got to pick it up if they
They want to play us first round and if we want to play them first round now sitting at the eigh spot 16 games back of the one seed and obviously three you know two and a half games back at the magic they got to pick it up a little
Bit if we want a magic heat first round some things would have to happen for that matchup to happen especially first round but it you know there’s a lot of inner dialogue for me when it comes to do I want to play the Heat do I really want is the is the
Reward greater than the risk and maybe likelihood that you know like you said the greatest apparitions of of all time when it comes to three-point shooting they had last year going from basically one of the worst to the best didn’t make a whole lot of sense
And it has a lot to do with the heat and their schematics and thankfully now you maybe have a little bit of a blueprint for once they get to the playoffs what they’re going to do and really it’s as simple as Jimmy Butler’s going to touch
The ball more than you’ve ever seen the difference be between a player that touches the ball in the regular season than to get the most touches in the in the playoffs it’s truly ridiculous it takes like eight more shots a game and now maybe you have a blueprint of how to
Defend it and stop it but last year there just was no like really you hadn’t seen it especially that deep of a run to the point where you’re like oh the these guys were like what he was doing usage wise in the regular season for some playoffs and just how ridiculous it
Was hopefully there’s you know a better game plan to stop it and you don’t get get caught like the Knicks do sleeping a little bit and getting knocked out of that of that round that second round to the heat we’ll see the heat looked like they’re trying to do exactly what they
Did last year in terms of we’re going to try to come through the plan and then we’re going to upset every team on the way there to the finals hopefully the magic I would love for the magic to be the team that just puts a stop to it and it isn’t able to
Happen but I don’t know it’s a big risk yeah Miami is a much better three-point shooting team and they were last year last year in the regular season they you know ranked towards the bottom of the league uh this year you know they’re like I think 10th they’re like 37 almost
38% from three if I’m if I’m not mistaken here so uh yeah I I don’t know how I would feel about that it again it would be one of the greatest joys of my life or one of the like most like depressing moments of my life depending
On how that series would go and like all of my friends in my personal life they know that I just absolutely despise the heat like I had like seven guys at my house last year for Nuggets heat game one and just seeing how hard I was I was
Rooting for the Nuggets almost as if they were the Orlando Magic because I was rooting that hard against the Heat and a few of my buddies would love nothing more than to see me watch the magic lose to the heat because they’re awful friends of course so uh yeah again
Looking forward to being in the playoffs in general we got 16 more games here and see how everything shakes out again big thank you to Jeff Turner for taking the time here Luke Luke this is a big episode that we’re doing here recap the big win over the Nets Pao banero Jeff

Paolo, if you’re reading this –
The city of Orlando couldn’t be more grateful for your presence; many thanks for the many unforgettable moments already established and yet to come. Excited to see you eventually raise up that Larry O'Brien trophy.
Great episode for the monumental #400!
Congrats on the interview yall, you did great
Can we talk about how Markell fultz is the best scorer on the team and not starting
GOOO MAGIC 💯 💯
I agree.. if we can get 25-30 solid JI minutes in the playoffs
We can beat anybody and at least get out of the 1st round.
Let's go Magic… We Love you Paolo 🔥
We’re living in what’s going to be the best chapter in Magic history!
I want to piggyback off what another person commented.
Paolo, as a lifelong Magic fan (im 24), I couldn't be happier with where you and the team have gotten so far! Dude, you've turned a 20-win team into what i believe could be a 50-win team in a matter of 2 seasons! I feel like we struck gold when we drafted you, and it blows me away that there were any doubts that you were the clealry the best all around and complete player because i remember watching all the top prospects available and when watching you play i said to myself "we'd be stupid to not go with this dude!".
Anyway, trust me when I say you have officially started a new magic Era (which will be the best, I believe) because it will be the first Era to have brought a championship to this team! Don't stop proving that you're the best. Thanks for bringing joy back to this city, franchise, and frankly, my life because we get to watch you day in and day out be great with a Magic jersey on your back! LET'S GO MAGIC!!!
Paolo, if he stays long term, will go down as the greatest Magic player in franchise history. It’s crazy to think how young he is considering how mature he acts and speaks about the team and building towards the future.
Also, Jonathan, awesome job with your questions. You asked a question and let Paolo answer. I see all the time where someone will ask a question and then try to give context and unneeded background on the question as if the player didn’t live the experience and in the end they never get a good answer because they’ve just over talked. Jonathan didn’t do that at all, great job man!
THIS FEELS LIKE A MOMMA I MADE IT MOMENT congrats guys!
I keep forgetting how huge Paolo is he had you looking up to his shoulders 😂 but you def crushed those questions cause they are the back of every Magic fan Thank you 💙
Yall need to get Dwight on the pod so we can give him his flowers!! He would also be pretty funny lmao
Congratulations on the 400th episodes fellas! 🎉
