So you’re telling me the league had the power to stop this bs for three past decade and just slchose not to? Reeeeeeeeeee

Bad FT shooting teams like the Kings are nodding vigorously

  4. SGA is not playing basketball sometimes. Just flopping like crazy

Cool moment the other night in Grizzlies Hornets game where Grant Williams baits GG with a pump fake then jumps into him, nearly injuring him. Ref calls the foul on GG but stands there and lectures Grant about baiting as he gives a big goofy grin denying it. We’re all sick of this shit, esp refs.

Start calling the ridiculous lean in foul baits. A player dribbling to the basket, stops, pump fakes, leans forward INTO the defender while shooting. It gets called so ridiculously often and it boils my blood.

I love this. Defenders need to do something stupid for the offense to be awarded free throws. Jumping into guys needs to be a no call, and that’s how I’ve seen the refs start to call it.

  8. They will call it for like a week and then just ignore it. Like they always do

  9. This is great.

There absolutely was an extended period of time in NBA history in which offensive players were punished for inducing excessive contact with an opponent, and it made perfect sense. Even rendering such plays a no-call still retained a semblance of balance.

Yet at some point along the way over the past 20 or so, offensive players not only stopped getting punished for those plays, but suddenly they were being actively rewarded. It made zero logical sense from a competitive game standpoint. So hopefully Joe Dumars and company were able to sink their teeth into this issue a bit.

Of course, the real question is going to be seeing how this plays out over the long haul, as these adjustments so often end up edging back to baseline.

Good, that shit sucks to watch and makes the game take forever

Fake news, SGA had like 15 ft vs Mavs last game

  12. I look forward to Embiid still just falling over and them calling a foul

I love how you can see in a thread like this how everyone that got beat by OKC this year is still scratching their heads to come up with an excuse. “SGA is done” pfft… give me a break. My dude still threw up 30+ last night. SGA for MVP!

The SGA hate is getting out of hand man.

Some of you guys need to chill.

  15. I really hope this is the norm going forward, they’ve said shit like this in the past and it only lasts 2-3 weeks. The true test will be seeing how Embiid is reffed

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the NBA constantly make it seem like these types of officiating changes had to wait until the offseason for everyone (NBA officials, PA, refs) to review the evidence and figure out a good solution?

Funny how quick the NBA makes changes whenever folks seriously start speculating on if the refs are betting on games.

    >offensive players hunting for fouls and veering off paths into defenders

This is precisely the reason why I hate Trey Young. Of course, he’s not the only player to do it, but I feel like he’s the posterboy for it.
