Celtics center Neemias Queta | The Grind presented by Gatorade

This was always the dream this was always the goal you never really want to take it for granted every day we come in to get better um if you have the mindset to come in every day and get better I feel like everything else will just call on

Line I feel like the history of this franchise speaks for itself um being a part of a franchise that W so many things in the past and so many so many great players that’s the things I want to be able to do um in the in the future Grind started for me when I was around 10 cuz of my older sister she was going to a practice the more I win the more the more happiness I would find it’s like an escape at the same time basketball is always such a fun way to spend time with your friends just just

Doing all the things you like on the court keep it alive give me that loose ball throw it down get the crowd on their feet obviously I feel like the grind for me is uh being more consistent with ever I’m I’m on the court definitely getting better at positioning

Defensively um and those things I feel like it comes with a anticipation get in the gym get a lot of shots up and just keeping on developing skills that are going to be needed from you [Applause] so high volume League you get a lot of games you get a lot of traveling uh you get a lot of a lot of practices in so you got to do the little things to help you separate yourself so I feel like those things are keeping my routine

Getting my naps on game days stuff like that um eating a good meal right before the game making sure I’m hydrated essential for the consistency of a good player oh yes wide open [Applause] k I definitely enjoy my job a lot um every day I I come into the gym and just

Play with these guys is such a blessing for me so I really just feel happy for having this type of life and that I have and be able to play basketball for a living Throws it down obviously we got so so many good players and it’s hard um not knowing how how your minutes will fluctuate every night but I feel like uh I have a good mindset in that aspect and I let things things go on its own and

Whenever my name gets called It’s my job to be ready oh thr down by Ken when the team actually wants me to be in there and just be more more disruptive get in the court and just make plays like that I actually I actually want to want to

Become one of those players that comes in that has built an name for himself that way so being able to win championships play at the highest level with the best players ever so I just want to keep it it going I don’t want to I don’t want to think about it too much

But the more I keep on enjoying every day and going at it every day the closer I’ll get to That

“Whenever my name gets called, it’s my job to be ready.”

Neemias Queta’s basketball journey has taught him how important the grind is to sustaining success in the league. From his younger days watching his older sister practice, to playing at Utah State and eventually reaching the NBA, Neemy grinds daily to become a disruptor and make a huge impact whenever he’s entering the game.

The Grind is presented by Gatorade.
