Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch spoke about Edwards’ 30-point night in win over Jazz

Well I mean you know he’s been great like just aggressive uh and you know we have the luxury of having so many guys who can handle the ball and playmake alongside of him and we you know we’ve been treating him almost like a two guard a little bit more um and running

Him off actions and he’s created a great separation and guys have been fing him and he’s you know got out and run and gotten some easy stuff in the Break um and yeah yeah just playing in an excellent Rhythm right now so with um we talk a lot about his consistency

Trying to pile these kind of nights yeah seems like he’s been doing is this maybe a step for him having these kind of games come in a row like this yeah I thought he you know I thought to start the game he was aggressive um then he got into a little

Bit of holding you know and then I thought he kind of lost his rhythm as a result of that but in the second half he was really good you know everything was quick everything was decisive got to his shot he got to his spots he got to the

Rim he made the right kickouts um you know in transition he picked up the pace a little bit yeah so that’s the way he’s got to continue to play you know um there’s going to be plenty of opportunities where you do get slowed down but uh you don’t want to

Unnecessarily slow yourself down whether it’s purposeful or subconsciously he kind of he kind of did this last year when Carl went down like he he took his game up another notch and earn an All-Star appearance um does he maybe sense the moment for you guys right now Carl out that that he’s

Got to take his game up another another notch I’m sure he does you know it’s a question better suited for him um you know I do think also like just um you know the aggressiveness with the ball in its hands a little bit more um you know

Kind of off more often you know early like he and Cat don’t have to share it as much of course with cat not being here um and that’s been a rhythm that’s been somewhat inconsistent for us at times you know this year um and you know

That you know right now like you know an is aggressive and um you know we have a ton of spacing out there right right now too with particularly with Rudy not being on the floor so it opens up all kinds of things so um yeah so I mean I

You know he has a guy you know he has what I’m pleased on the last two games is he’s really been efficient from the floor you know above 50% so said 19 and 12 guys starting in place of yeah what does it do for you to have I know s come

Off the bench and yeah I mean yeah I mean he’s he’s just been playing that way all year long I mean the rebounding we knew going into the game that we needed to rebound at a high level the challenge was for everyone to rebound above their average

Tonight um you know he was really boxing out he you know got to the ball quick um you know offensively stayed confident like we had had a lot of Great Looks he didn’t go in for a bit but he stayed confident in it um you know I was yeah

It’s just he’s a luxury I mean he’s made himself into one heck of a player he’s played a lot of different roles for us over the years um and you know now he’s he’s starter quality player so we’re lucky to have him how do you feel Lakers

Game this game no Rudy how do you think the guys have just adapted to the the style kind of the different style that you’re playing um especially on the offensive end yeah I think uh you know I think um guys have done a good job with

It really um I’d like to see us you know pick up the pace a little bit more you know we we should be a little quicker takes us a little bit longer into the game to get our transition uh attack going um you know but uh yeah I think

Guys have done a really good job ball movement’s been there spacing has been there quick decisions been been there it’s led to really good shooting nights for us um you know we we we have you know a lot of multi-positional guys so they’re kind of used to playing all over

The floor in all different lineup combinations so Chris do you think you guys uh maybe were a little bit Rusty in the first half because I mean unusual to have this many days off after so many backto backs yes yeah no doubt about it we talked about it at halftime um you

Know we knew we were Rusty we knew we were probably going to be rusty I thought we had really good shots in the first half um you know just told the guys keep moving the ball you know shots will go down uh we weren’t going to be

Rusty in the second half and they weren’t but uh yeah unusual uh it was hard to find a practice Rhythm too with the way we’ve had this little stretch here in the last week um the guys handled it [Applause] well

  1. Kyle Anderson has to be automatic in the paint with the floaters. It's the only way he's gonna help put pressure on the opponents defense in the playoffs
