Stephen A.: D’Angelo Russell should be ASHAMED of himself! | NBA Countdown

I know it’s at stake coming into tonight does that make this even more frustrating or even yeah just more frustrating I didn’t know what was at stake they were two G two games ahead of you guys in the in the standings U obviously they already won the season

Series but now they’re three games ahead and you guys are I think three behind for seventh now I mean now I know what’s his stake or was at stake but yeah no I didn’t switch anything up knowing that now Stephen A your reaction sir that’s embarrassing he should be ashamed

Of himself and I’m nobody else going to say it I’m going to say it that is inexcusable you’re a guard on this team we know how much of a liability you are on the defensive side of the ball they rely on your offense you’re not going to

Always have it I get that it’s not about the points it’s not about the lack of offensive production in those two games it’s about the fact that you sat up there in front of a microphone with the cameras rolling and talking about you didn’t know what was at stake knowing

That the playin your position in the play in tour tournament is at stake yes you LeBron’s the leader yes Anthony Davis is the star but last time I checked with this team they’re 0 and five when Anthony D’Angelo Russell is not on the court they’re three and seven

When he’s on the court or and scores 10 points or less you need this man you need him all in and what we’re seeing there is a level of inconsistency that we saw in the playoffs where he was aw was a APB I caught police in La looking

For him nobody could find us behind because he wouldn’t show up against the Denver Nuggets and to say something like that on Nash with the cameras rolling it is shameful it a shame you cannot make that mistake you can’t do it if we were going to be very very nice we would say

At least he was honest but you know what you got you’re right Stephen A every game there’s something at stake for this Lakers team and this Warrior team these two teams right behind us every single Lakers have a 4% chance of getting out of the play in meaning they get to the

Six seed one the Warriors is 1% wow every single game from here on out something is at stake so if they ask anybody after this game do you know what’s at stake yeah all these games there some at stake but you know what you said it a little more harsh but

You’re right you got to understand I don’t care what D’Angelo Russell says I want to see him play I we Stephen A and I live in different worlds when it comes to what players are saying we do I want to see him play the stat you mentioned

Is important they need him on the court and they need him more consistent by the way if you’re not a top three an all NBA player 5 10 or 15 chances are you’re not going to be that consistent you’re not going to be a star now we need to see

D’Angelo Russell contribute I don’t care what he says after the game what he said but what did he he had six points six assist and then he said that so Al together he goes 30 points I want to see performance irrelevant I can’t believe I’m going to

Get on my man Mike wil bomb for being disingenuous but I’m going look into the camera and look at my man right now I’m look with my man Tony cor of helpful this you know how many for long before he was sitting there breaking records and being exceptional on National

Television Michael wil was also exceptional with a column all right the watch the and you know what he used to do he used to watch your performance listen to what you said and then turn around and said that’s why you played that way but suddenly now that don’t

Count is not the same stepen a he’s not Anthony Davis he’s not LeBron the words aren’t equal so everything’s not a big deal every single topic is not the end of the world I say every single topic but what you did we agree on what we

Agree on okay he has got to perform in the way you said that’s right I don’t care what he says after the game but but after the game what he said in my mind contributes to why he possibly performed that way that’s the point you’re aware

If you’re not if you’re not cognizant of what the hell is going on what position you’re in what have what’s going to happen you mean what you’re saying you you matter a littleit me what you say some Bob if we looked and assessed what Anthony Davis or Lebron James said if

This was Draymond Steph or clay if this was Kevin Durant or Booker sorry so I’m not going to it’s not aage you can’t average you can’t average 22 point 22 points 45% shoot for three-point range and you going to tell me he going to sit up there and say I

Had no position I had no idea and it don’t matter come on man onding with a couple of things D’Angelo Russell has been very vocal over the last couple of games talking about his communication lacking with Darin ham in last year’s play blaming other players for that and

So when you take all of that into consideration out of it not how much they need from DLo I think is where Stephen A is coming from which is a compliment to D’angelo they need him to play what’s the over under tonight for D’Angelo we’ll find out in the Break

Stephen A. Smith, Bob Myers, Michael Wilbon and Malika Andrews reacts to D’Angelo Russell’s comments after his 6-point outing vs. the Sacramento Kings.

  1. atleast he’s honest, a thing that stephen a knows nothing off, russell just wanted to win every game why talk about what at stake😂

  2. Wilbon come on brotha stop tryna protect dlo. YOU NEED TO KNOW THE SITUATION AT ALL TIMES. Im a 25 year laker fan and you better know the stakes this why i was mad they brought dlo back. We really should've kept that 2020 team

  3. He knows that it doesn’t matter about him, that the lakers are going after bronny and he’s gonna play that one with dad

  4. Man literally every star in the west hurt so they have time to make playoffs still they made last year like 13 behind. Russell already know they gonna win the championship i think we all do look like 2020 for Lakers 😂

  5. DLo gets a pass for telling the truth in my eyes. He could have played it off like he knew what was at stake, like a lot of players do. You still have 20+ games left to play so why should they be worried about the play in scenarios right now?? Stephen A. makes a big deal about everything.

  6. D'Angelo is above %40+ from 3pt line since beginning of 2024 and averages 20ppg+. What else he can contribute u dumb fucks?

  7. Bro someone tell LeBron to stop playing PG every single possession. D'Lo's streak began against Utah when LeBron was out. It's no coincidence that he goes off during games where LeBron either does not play or he takes a huge number of steps back to give D'Lo room and freedom to run the point. Next time you're watching a Lakers game, count the number of times LeBron brings the ball up the court and runs the same play or posts up and calls for the ball, and compare that to the number of times D'Lo is the one bringing the ball up the court and doing what he wants without LeBron there demanding the ball in his hands. It's a huge difference.

  8. D lo looking like Rodney from The Duce aka method Man character as a 1970s pimp haha. His hair look smooth as player

  9. Of course he sees nothing at stake, cos the refs and NBA would help them go through anyway so he doesn’t care

  10. If he approaches every game with the mindset of winning, who cares what’s at stake? He knows they have to win, the specifics don’t matter.
