Stephen A.: The Lakers STILL can’t play defense! They left their game in Indy! | NBA Countdown

Dog right uh you saw it earlier here on Sports Center show you the Highlight the Warriors behind steps 31 took down the Lakers 128 121 Noak jokovic in the building so they exchanged a jersey for a racket cuz you wouldn’t want a polo shirt right but a big win for the

Warriors on the road more now from the NBA Countdown crew in LA so the Lakers they really needed to win this game and Al last the Golden State Warriors they walk out with the 128 121 win now they’re tied for ninth but technically technically the Golden State Warriors are just percentage

Points ahead now for that ninth seed Stephen A Smith what did you see in this one well I saw Klay Thompson show up in the first half and remind us of what he can do what he’s capable of doing and obviously that changes the complexion of what you think about when you think

About the Golden State Warriors I saw Steph Curry comeing return from a three-game absence and looks like he didn’t lose anything at all just took a quarter to get going and then after that was completely dominant and I saw a Los Angeles Lakers team that still can’t

Seem to play defense they haven’t been able to play defense since the allstar break it’s like they left their game in Indianapolis for crying out loud defensively like 28th defensively so you’re not going to go anywhere unless they improve defensively spoke to uh Roba Linka before the game he was

Talking about they’re hopeful that they could have jar Vanderbilt back in a few weeks and that would change things but they clearly need him because they don’t they can’t seem to stop a cold we’re going to need to stop the segment down and restart because the shot clock

Didn’t actually start at the beginning of this segment Bob how concerned are you with what you saw from from the Lakers here what did you walk away with um yeah I’m just collecting my the choclock thing does kind of mess yeah we were waiting here you know

80 went out and that changed the complexion of the game really and I mean he was doing a pretty good job the Warriors always have trouble with him and rightly so a lot of teams have trouble with Anthony Davis but look Vanderbilt coming back like Stephen A

Said would be huge for their defense the Lakers have scored well lately last month they’ve been doing a good job scoring they scored well tonight but um you know it’s I just can’t seeing these two teams play and imagining a nine versus 10 and one of them’s going home

We’re gonna get that you know we probably it looks like we will on aash that’s where it’s headed cuz this game probably made that even more likely I suppose I mean cuz the Lakers are hanging around n it’s just I can’t believe it I I can’t that one game would

Set some sort of viewing record on the other hand you lose Hall of Fame MERS plural if you have that game yeah they don’t have it I do because you want to see those players play Beyond one game but do you see a path out of the 910 for

For these team no not for not for these two teams but I like to say this yeah you know Steph Curry LeBron James you want to see him no doubt about it but some of these young thorough breads that we’re going to see in the playoffs the

Anthony Edwards of the world the Shay guilis Alexanders of the world and then you add the Lucas the Kyrie and others I mean wait a minute now dearon Fox and and and Sacramento and what have you just look at some of this young Talent we going to have real interesting

Playoffs is going to be excited without Steph Curry well the league is going to have how to cope with this Stephen they’re going to have to learn they’re going to have to move on reluctantly cuz we don’t want to move on I don’t want to move on we we’re already at the point

Where we’re I’m okay with moving on I just want to see them in the one more playoff series not a playin I’d like they can lose in the first round you you you want your first one from the media standpoint at least to be at least getting able to watch these two

Understand we want to see what we’ve seen that’s going to do it for us Sports Center sending it back to You

Stephen A. Smith, Michael Wilbon, Bob Myers and Malika Andrews react to the Golden State Warriors’ 128-121 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

  1. AD getting injured and leaving the game early obviously was deflating for the Lakers. Their defense falls apart when he's not in there to block shots and alter shots. Ever since the Warriors moved Klay to the bench he's been awesome lighting it up with the second unit. Lebron had 40 at age 39!! Don't know how he's doing it.

  2. 19-27 when taurean prince plays more than 25 minutes 16-3 when he plays 25 or less. So what was he doing playing 30 minutes

  3. I’m not complaining about the match itself because Warriors were the better team, but I really don’t understand these rules. Remember the Rockets Warriors game where KD was about a metre out of bounds when he threw the ball back, but that was neither reviewed nor overturned. But with that LeBron shot they went back and looked at it even though it wasn’t a coach’s challenge. Why can referees go back, sometimes minutes after, to review shots but not something so extremely blatant? And for some reason they couldn’t call a travel on Draymond with the coach’s challenge??? But then a couple of months ago a foul got called on LBJ, it got challenged and was successful because LBJ didn’t make contact, but they instead called a foul on Prince after reviewing it even though that call wasn’t made on the floor. I understand that refs can review a shot under 2 minutes and overturn it because that's the rule, but why isn't there a rule on reviewing whether someone was out of bounds? These rules are inconsistent and illogical.

  4. Warriors are hitting their stride and will move up to 8th or maybe 7th. Rockets could take that 10th spot and bump Lakers out hopefully..

  5. idc how well dlo stats are. hes a turnstile on defense, terrible leader and when the playoffs come he always falters offensively. having him as your starting PG is just asking for failure

  6. Awh when the lakers don’t shoot 10+ more free throws then Steph nem they loose once again 🥱

  7. Stephen A. conveniently overlooked the fact the Lakers are a horribly coached team.

  8. Nba is so weird now. I cant recall 40 point performances from bron that result in Ls. But now, dude scoring and team still losing. But i guess that aint unique. Kat scored 62, booker scored 70, both lost the game

  9. Counting this two team out is rediculous lol.. both this team knows how win a playoffs series what about the thunder and wolves they can win a series thunder and wolves should win this easy but playoffs is different they need to prove everyone that they can win a playoffs series until they cant win still the main reason why people watching nba is for curry and lebron
