Burks’ single-mindedness when he has the ball is wild.
I can’t imagine that the instruction from the coaching staff is “go cook *every time* you have the ball, and if you take your least efficient shot (anything in the paint) its cool. Entirely disregard the concept of creating”
And yet, I don’t know that they’ve discouraged him from doing exactly that. I feel like there are some pretty basic reads he can make when he goes downhill to take advantage of a team in rotation or a collapsed defense, and he seems to refuse.
It’s a lot more manageable when he’s making though.

That’s good for bench players, but it’s crazy how much we’re glazjng them when this is about the average production we should expect from the pistons duo every game. It just shows how bad they’ve been before this game
