Glad he seems to be in a better headspace. I was kinda concerned for him especially when he declined the Hornets offering him therapy. But I hope he comes back strong, he seems like a good guy.

Didn’t expect this kind of redemption arc on him.

Real shitty of the Hornets organization cutting a kid struggling with mental health while holding onto a woman beater.

We love to see someone conquering their demons 👏

His money ran out, of course it was time to grow up

  6. I’ve watched way too much anime I’m hoping this dude bounces back and becomes a good player

  7. Literal_Satan

sounds to be in a much better mental place vs his ig lives from a while ago

  8. iabeytorm

Love to see people making positive changes I hope he’s able to keep it up

  9. as much shit as he got this offseason, glad to see him doing well and taking back control of his life

  10. With the new hair he looks exactly like Michael Jeffrey Jordan

Philly has long been known for its welcoming culture and positive effect on mental health

I’m sorry but the Hornets organisation will be forever trash to me, someone clearly needing help cut loose but women beaters step right up.

I get this is a business and how good a player is effects how they’re treated but those 2 incidents pretty much coinciding left a bad taste in my mouth.

Still looks like he still hasn’t dealt with his delusion. It’s cheesy to say but he really does need to set SMART goals. The A is for achievable. He has a literal 0% chance to ever be the MVP of the league, or the basketball goat, but I can see him developing into a starter/rotational level player and making millions in the NBA.

I hope he listens to someone close to him at some point who is honest and resets his expectations.

Kai is so freaking talented it would be a shame if he never put it all together. He should be considered a breakout contender every season.

Good for him man I’m always really fucking happy to see young dudes battle back from a low. Not an easy thing to do especially with all the eyes on you they have. Nothing wrong with some therapy and mental bandaids while you walk the long road to fix yourself.

Great grandparents death? they lived a full life and then some. If that makes you depressed, you are going to have a real tough time handling other circumstances. Straight up. Having great grandparents in your early 20’s is incredibly rare already. It is much harder to grieve a death for someone nearly 100 years old (actually, they legitimately could’ve been 100) I think this is a poor excuse for his behaviour tbh. Brutal honesty. I actually still see a lot of red flags in this interview.

good for him and it looks like the reality really hit him good no disrespect

I’m not buying any of this shit lmao

thought it said “coping with losing his life” and i’m like “dang sham really dug deep to get this scoop”

  20. 5AR5AR5AR

glad he’s doing better but the context of the quote is that his great grandma died of old age and he apparently never saw that happen??? And that’s when he had an existential crisis

  21. LyonsKing12

It feels like the Hornets need a complete reset from the fucks who are/were running the org.

  22. BoogerSugarSovereign

It was pretty clear earlier this year he was having a mental health crisis, I found all the previous threads on him pretty odd in that light

  23. strawberrypmo

We can only hope the best for this guy! Mental health is a big issue and I hope players reach out to help this young rookie. Wishing the best

  24. markFwahlberg

Morey didnt learn his lesson from Royce White I guess

Dude acts like a shithead and then one 1 comment later its all sunshine and rainbows. Too many people use “mental health” as an excuse to explain away their bad behavior
