“Cleveland is a contender to win the NBA Fianls” – ESPN impressed Cavaliers STUNNED Pacers 108-103

Side campy wrestle I’m Kaye Griffin the Cavaliers take down the Pacers here tonight by five and campy they have now recorded their 21st Road win that is more Road wins than the team had a season ago with plenty more to come over the next 14 games CI this is the second

Rated offense in the NBA in the Indiana Pacers why were the Cavaliers able to be so successful defensively and hold them to just 103 points I think it goes back to just their tenacity the Cavaliers came out with the right attitude and that was to take away the things that

Make this Pacer team good which is dribble penetration defending the three ball line being physical out there on the basketball court and we took all that away from them and we took halberton out of it from a scoring perspective he is the key to that basketball team not just assisting but

Coming up with points as well and we took that the point perspective out of it completely for halber and that was the difference in the game yeah big key was containing him how could they do it the Cavaliers certainly did that from the offensive side Caris LeVert leading

The way with the triple double and he’s standing by with Serena Winters to come up with assist his ability to steal the ball his ability to knock down shots and feed energy to this cavaler basketball team a guy that can start or come off the bench Caris L

Continues to show us that he is a high performance kind of player backto back games for Caris LeVert where he’s led the team in scoring and assist tonight was his fifth double double of the Season again just flirted with that triple double two rebounds shy for Caris

L what a performance and what a performance from the Cavaliers down the stretch as we head back out to Indie as we now welcome in John Michael and Austin Carr and guys I we are so excited that you’re finally coming home and it’s got to feel good that the Cavaliers are

Ending it on a high note yeah no question we had him all the way tonight guys no we had it we had it going we had it going no question about it but C really responded it was one of those first halfs that wasn’t feeling very good early in the second quarter the

Cavs Trail by his is 15 points but they got a really nice spark from their bench tonight Tristan Thompson gave good minutes Sam merrow good minutes and how about newcomer Marcus Morris all he does is the guy hasn’t played since February 5th right he was home checks in and

Drills yeah you know he was he was a civilian yes well the civilian goes for four threes he’s a huge reason why the Cavs come from behind here toight right I mean it was a great effort by the Cavaliers on the road to make this game

Uh uh to to to end the road trip two and one it was just a great effort all the way what I like is how they stopped the dribble penetration as in after that first quarter they started slowing it down in that second quarter and really

The second half they just ended it all right there they wouldn’t let the Pacers have anything to the basket right away made them turn away it stopped seak it stopped halberton it stopped them all from attacking the basket and here you see what the cows bench did I think I

Think maybe more importantly AC and you touched upon the Pacers go for 34 points in the first quarter and they’re rolling their bench the top scoring bench in the NBA went for 31 first half points that same bench group was held to only nine points in the second half as the cows

Really turn their water off defensively Thompson and Morris were a big part of that as they were banging inside and Tristen look the numbers look pretty modest tonight but he played a big big role as well you know when you watch Tristan Tristan is more like a quarterback out there he keeps everybody

In in Focus everybody in right positions and he brings a physical presence to it and that just changed the game in the Cav’s favor yeah the cavman with a pretty veteran Bunch that gave them good minutes I mean you had two 13-year guys in Thompson and Morris two eight-year

Guys in Nang and lever and Garland was in that fism as well and that was a really productive group for JB as he found something Midway through this ball game and the Cavs turn the ties and come home two and one on this sprawling road trip that we finally get to come home

From how was that defense by Nang there on the class High Line that was nice wasn’t it great coaches challenge too by JB picker staff seak fell out of bounds was really the turning point in the game it led to a Cavalier easy bucket with

Ball movement in a Coro laying it in on the other end to make it a two-possession game at lead the Cavs would not relinquish as to beat the Pacers here tonight big win this is used win the division win that’s always a a a two counter Kay and campy we coming home

Miami on W Wednesday we’re looking forward to it John and AC safe flight home we’ll see you guys soon and K be they let us right into this transition cuz we’re going to take a look at the fourth quarter and it was back and forth Halle Burton had the fading shot

Here and again this is what we expected from this matchup C be right because these are two teams that are fighting Pro seeding and down the stretch of the game we saw that well I thought the C just did a good job defensively I thought that was the key to this

Basketball game we got a lot of guys engaged into the game and it all started with the the B was doing so much out there that he just kind of took control of the game on both sides of the ball he was very very solid and as and as for

George Nang he was really solid tonight too made some key buckets and that right there was a turning point of the game that defensive stop there but this C team just never gave up and I think that’s the key to this team they understand they cannot give in to their

Opponent and tonight they did a good job of not giving in yeah incredible awareness from the Cavaliers down the stretch the Pacers outrebounded the Cavs they outscored them in the paint and they outscored them in the fast break but campy when you look at the final stats no Pacers scored more than 19

Points so what is that tell you about how the Cavaliers were able to take their individual defensive assignments and really lock well I think it was key to to deal with their individual assignments there’s no question about that and it started with the point guard you know and when you can hold Halle

Burton down to the numbers that you held him down to par he’s always going to get get a bunch of assists but I thought you look at the totality of that that basketball team I thought we did did a good job of shutting every position down particularly in that fourth quarter I

Really think is where we really took another step defensively to let the league know and everybody else know that we’re still one of the top defensive teams in the league yeah 19 points from Pascal sakam that led the Pacers halberton and TJ McConnell were next with 14 so the Cavaliers really held who

We need to be and I thought our guys responded um in Spades to you know start the game the way we started it wasn’t our best um you know there offense obviously is good it took us a second to kind of catch up with their Tempo and

Their Pace um but I thought as the game progressed we did a phenomenal job uh of figuring them out um but you know it took toughness um it took resilience it took togetherness to make sure that we never splintered you know even in adversity ups and downs uh our guys

Found a way to compete compete together and ultimately win the game when you look at the defensive end and specifically you guys fli the switch obviously like you said from the beginning for six minutes there but to carry that over to the final quarter what impression was

Uh it was winning time um again you know they’re an elite offensive team they’ve got guys uh that can take over games and beat you from all over the floor uh but what I thought we did a great job was individuals taking challenges uh but guys never were on their own uh they

Were never on an island by themselves uh guys were communicating they were protecting one another they were rotating uh making the extra effort um you know I loved our physicality I think we started to put our bodies on people um you know and take those challenges

Keep them out of the paint then down the stretch of the game I think we overcame a lot um there’s a lot of things um you know injuries uh opportunities things like that that we overcame did you expect to be close to tonight’s game with Mar uh I

Mean at this point in time we’ll try anything U but no he’s I mean he’s a pro you know and we were you know laughing uh you know you come out and play the way that he played you know basically from the couch to the court uh in a

Competitive game like that um just speaks to you know his professionalism uh he took care of himself he’s obviously been working out he’s in great shape um and I thought he gave us a huge lift last game I asked about asked about trist last game and you said it would

Take him one to get going did you kind of see the full interest in effect tonight yeah I mean I think he was huge for us especially in that first half uh he was with that group and and his energy you know his toughness turn to tide Force especially on the defensive

End of the floor uh and then you know I mean like his ability on the offensive end of the floor just to draw fouls because people don’t want them to get offensive rebounds uh that’s something that goes a little unnoticed sometimes but you know you keep ticking those

Fouls you get extra opportunities uh to score I don’t aboutt did you like uh I thought you know Isaac initially did a great job taking a challenge uh Carris had a piece of it but uh to slow a guy like that down takes team defense um and you know we

Had multiple guys switch on him uh you know there were different coverages that we put on him to see if we could keep him off balance a little bit and I thought our guys did a great job of executing the game plan anything else you’re on the road you’re missing yourp

Couple what does this tell you about theough of this team uh it’s a tracking of our mental toughness uh and that’s something that you know we’ve been talking about and we feel like it’s a skill that’s developed over time uh so for our guys to be in

This type of situation uh it’s an exercise of that muscle and um you know it’s it’s everything doesn’t come overnight it takes time but I thought our guys were phenomenal down the stretch um you know at just figuring out a way to keep themselves in the moment

And whatever the job was that was in front of them they just executed that job um and again that’s a credit to their togetherness and their mental toughness anything else back JB just along those lines car is a guy Ro may change tonight you know depending on who’s available for you

Guys what does it say about him that he can have a game like he did tonight where he really need it all yeah I mean that’s again one of the things that I’m most appreciative of Caris is Caris is willingness to sacrifice for the team um

We know you know if car Carris was a primary uh offensive player on a team he could average 20 plus points a night um but he’s accepted a position with this team you know coming off the bench most nights to just fit and help this team win basketball games um you know not

Only is he able to score and you see the 11 assists his ability to playmake he goes gets eight rebounds then he takes tough defensive assignments as well so he’s a complete basketball player who I am like so appreciative of his character his willingness to sacrifice for things

That are greater than himself have you seen that kind of grown maybe when you guys first got him to now a couple years later no this he’s been the same person um you know he’s obviously had to figure out different lineups where he fits playing with different players and I

Think sometimes that takes a little bit of time a little you know getting used to uh but as far as his willingness uh from day one he was willing to do whatever we needed him to do uh to become a better basketball team she V don’t so late my loyal subject he my car you stasis First Blood nothing an ally has been [Laughter] defeated an ally has been defeated you have been defeated You have defeated an enemy an enemy has been defeated time kill an ally has been defeated enemy double kill your tower has been destroyed an ally has been defeated an enemy has been defeated my turn get over here an ally has been defeated you have defeated an enemy watch my
