ESPN on Anthony Edwards throws down ridiculous dunk over John Collins in Timberwolves win over Jazz

Road Victory no matter what challenges they were had to face or overcome in this game whether it be you know the rebounding because Utah again a big team was able to control the boards no matter if it was that the Wolves were able to take care of the basketball they were

Able to find their footing offensively had multiple guys come through hit some big shots it started with nas in that first quarter but then when he was out other guys had to step up and figure out what they were going to do to take on some of that offensive load and it just

No matter what happened the Wolves continue to compete and found a way to win this game yeah and how many times have we seen Anthony Edwards just kind of sit back and think H what does this game need I’ll come out and bring it you

Mentioned no cat no Rudy and then yes no Naz re to come out of that second half and that’s when Anthony Edwards certainly came alive BB 32 points tonight he was Electric in those final two quarters they’re having 25 in the second half you know you talk about the

Field and I think that’s one of the things that we are watching this young man understand a feel for the game what is needed do I need to get my teammates involved because you look at his stat line he’s flirting with a triple double in this one eight assists as well seven

Rebounds and that I mean that’s going to live on forever you look at John Collins who you assume and you think of as one of the best leapers you know in this game and then it just pulverizes him on that dunk so he has such a good feel for

For it the three ball wasn’t falling he was only two from eight for three but he was able to get downhill shot over 70% and in the paint so making sure he took the right shots also three or four in the mid-range so you know that he picks

His spots in the mid-range when he needs to start to feel a little bit more comfortable outside of the paint so whatever it was whatever the defense was giving him he took advantage of you saw Utah start to trap him a little bit to

Try to get the ball out of his hands so he stayed out of the pick and roll was able to play Fast Break situations was able to play in transition get to the downhill and get to the cup but it was no matter what no

Matter what Utah tried to do he had an answer for it he understood that he had to take on some of the scoring low so we see another 30-point game from Anthony Edwards in this one and we see another night where he just Battles Through injuries I mean talk about toughness

He’ll go out there he’ll do whatever it takes you know he loves to compete and hey we love to see it another big night for Anthony Edwards and the big topic too no Nas Reed to start that second half and no Rudy go bear Carl Anthony

Towns the Wolves had to play some small ball in that third quarter and that they really did you and the thing about it was even though Utah is a bigger team when the Wolves came out in that third quarter they were able to go on a run

With that smaller unit so yeah it was small ball but they started 145 run nog at the start first possession he hit a three in the corner and they just played aggressive from there even in they’re small their athleticism allowed them to compete it wasn’t you know the rebound

And showing that they won it they got outrebounded by five in that second half but the compete was there high level compete you see the deflection there with Mike Conley being able to get the steal just moving the basketball playing together they had such a great Rhythm no

Matter who was playing the only place where you saw a little bit of issue or concern was in the paint on post up situations cuz you have a guy like Markin and that’s posting up Jaden in certain situations you have um Kessler that’s being able to get offensive

Rebounds so there you could see the disparity disparity a little bit but other than that the pace that the Wolves played with the smaller unit spreading the floor being able to move the basketball and hit open threes and then playing fast off of turnovers they did a great job having active hands making

Utah turn the ball over and then being able to play in the open court that way so that was an adjustment that was made and that allowed them to play smaller no matter who was out there on the floor so yeah their all of their bigs were down

The biggest guy out there to start that second um half was Kyle Anderson right that was their five but no matter what they made it work so just another way that you see this wolves team growing and being able to persevere yeah we mentioned the depth a lot the next man

Up mentality is so strong despite the short-handed situations that this team has found themselves in we saw some of the highlights there with Jordan McGlothlin big night for JM tonight 11 points through his 22 minutes he helped assist the bench B to 42 points tonight every everybody had a hand in this one

And we talked about the bench in the last game they only had six points in the first half ended up with 27 points um in the game but came out tonight and was a little bit more aggressive I love the fact that Jordan mlin always takes

Advantage of his minutes he just is a smart basketball player he’s going to take open shots not take a lot of bad looks it’s going to move the basketball when it needs to be moved but then you see Monty Morris coming in he has eight Luca Garza another another good name uh

Game for him being able to play in his minutes taking advantage of the opportunity so we just said something about depth but with the dep you have to show up and that’s what we saw from the Wolves bench showing up no matter continuing to have guys that go out not

Being sure that you’re going to be able to play in this one not being sure how many minutes you’re going to play but when you do get on the floor doing smart things playing defense at a high level you see that they were a the Wolves bench was able to compete on the

Defensive end as well and then on the offensive end when the Wolves needed to try to get some separation and get their offense going the bench came in and was extremely effective and efficient with that yeah plenty of capable scorers for the Wolves it certainly is valuable and

Looking back at the last meeting between Utah and the wolves on Saturday Minnesota forced the Jazz to 16 turnovers they were able to capitalize 17 points off those turnovers well tonight another double digit night they forced 17 turnovers in this one with 27 points off of those turnovers kind of

Ties into what you said with the the bench players you want them to score when they come in well this you want to capitalize on those turnovers that you forced and not the Wolves did tonight they did and they they ran with a lot of

Pace you know I feel like they came into this one understanding the importance of wanting to finish the the season sweep and taking advantage of the games that they need to win cuz this is a game when you look at on the schedule that is a

Game that the Wolves need to win so making your own breaks right being able to play in the open floor I love that they just didn’t they didn’t settle for getting the turnover they wanted to come down play with pace and finish on the other and and they did that 27 points

Off turnovers a lot of big topics in this win for the Wolves tonight they’re second straight over the Jazz they finished four- two through this six-game road trip big topic was Anthony Edwards who certainly came alive in that second half 31 points for ant tonight and he

Caught up with our Kevin Lynch after the win wow that was crazy Minnesota wins by 10 Anthony great game my man um so your three big guys go bear didn’t play towns didn’t play Nas plays half the game how’ you guys win this ball game important game man all credit

Goes to Cal Anderson um he was everything we needed tonight um whether it was rebounding frontting somebody playing in the pocket making a right play getting on everybody ass he was he was the MVP tonight for sure all right we got to talk about that dunk you we

Got a monitor right here and you’re going to talk us through what happened on that on that dunk here we go oh my God hey that was my best dunk in my career I’m not going to lie that’s oh you had some good ones I could even react cuz I dislocated

My finger you see it on your left on your left hand too I couldn’t react to it I wish I could have reacted to it I wish I could have all right so you guys start slowly in the early on in the game get down 12 you’re I think you’re down

16 at one point in the first half what was said at halftime because that defensive intensity really picked up um I don’t even think it was what was said at halftime I think as a group collectively we came together um right before the the third quarter started and

Slowmo was like hey we need this game like we got Denver tomorrow we we missing key players so we need this game and um you know we kind of took it personal and I’m glad my teammate stepped up tonight okay another thing you know it seems like when the game

When the temperature starts to rise in the building and on the court you start to get even more hyped is that true yeah that’s just that’s just who I am um in the big moments man I I I love to have the ball in my hands I love to take a

Shot I I live with with if I’m the reason that we lost the game I I live with that I can sleep I can sleep good at night I’m just ready to get in the gym the next day so you know I live with putting the ball in my hands in the

Fourth quarter also you know I was in a couple of your huddles during the game and Chris Finch does a nice job I think of drawing up quick hitting plays for you once you get revved up is that true yeah hell yeah he put me in the in in

The greatest positions to score um and he did a great job tonight of of playing me as a a screener and um you know I was successful in the second half well great game tonight good luck tomorrow against Denver great job sir thank you yeah I

Mean it’s know I want to see it again I didn’t see it um in a replay yet um you know we’ve seen several of those Rim attacks at the end of transition like that I thought that was really what kind of flipped the game around for us just

From an emotional point of view we we needed a really big play um and you know all credit to Anthony too like he he he didn’t start the game the greatest like we looked a little kind of sluggish um you know but he kept at it U and then

You know he knows when we go when guys are out gets down short-handed that he’s got to step up but you know spectacular play you come out with that that lineup um Kyle five what’s kind of your guiding Mantra to them on both ends of the floor

I just wanted I mean l literally just fly around and you know cover for each other switch as much as we can get into the ball be disruptive uh swarm um you know and then just just kind of compete and me wanted to get it was pretty easy decision you

Know move Kyle to the five bring in theils played so well for us um that uh you know I thought in many ways that kind of got us off great start I think we started the quarter 82 right away and and and that was kind of the really the

Momentum swing do you have an initial update on on on Mas uh no I don’t have anything more than just a kind of a head injury so I have no idea so is he good enough to fly back with you guys tonight I have not seen him or talked to any medical

People on my way here so uh JM uh this year 46% I think from 3. yeah three big ones for you again tonight has he put any any changes to his shop or or anything like that from from last year or what’s maybe really working for him yeah you know what I

Think it it is I think um well first of all he’s getting a lot of Great Looks you know we’re really finding him in space um he’s it’s it’s a little like we talked about with Mike in the pregame you know he’s not having to handle the

Ball all the time so the ball is able to come back to him find him and he’s just taking his time he’s shooting it in Rhythm great confidence I think he can anticipate when the pass is going to come to him that helps him be shot ready

Um and he’s just playing lights out man on both ends of the floor he was part of that unit in the second quarter that kind of got you guys back in the game yep it it kind of seems like even if he’s not necessarily generating quick Pace or

Play it seems like just the team as a whole picks up when he’s on the floor do you sense that yeah I mean he he does a lot of things that uh you know everybody brings certain qualities but he he you know he digs out a lot of 50-50 balls he

Get he does pick up the pace um you know it doesn’t necessarily lead to to run outs and LS but it does put the defense on their heels a little bit more he gets to the heart of the defense pretty well um you know he knows our offense so well

Now being in it for three and a half years that he he knows exactly you know kind of how to run the game so um and that plus his shooting and his defense you know he’s really really pleased with the way he’s battling he’s always battled defensively but he’s often times

Now giving up even more sides than ever Chris one question we talked about rebounding before yeah Saturday night’s game a lot of times you can watch NBA games you don’t see a whole lot of boxing out maybe it’s kind of become a thing from 30 years ago or something but

Nas Reed Luka Garza with against a bigger team just putting your body to keep a big guy off the offensive glass just I was impressed by you guys the last couple games doing that yeah I appreciate that it’s uh it is one of the lost arts of basketball you know guys we

Don’t people don’t really box out much anymore um and those two guys know that that’s what they got to do uh to be able to compete in the air I mean Nas gives up a little bit of size at times um and Nas has been outstanding he’s lifted his

Rebounding game for All Season uh and Luca obviously is not going to compete in the air with some of the athleticism that’s out there so he needs to win the the battle on the ground um so yeah those guys did a great job in this little series here so for sure Fore for I’ll give it my enemy dou kill where in the speed force are we destroy enemy ultimate foree is under attack Foree foree fore speech spee speech for for you for speeech foreign spee out a roll with the punches At Your Service an ally has been defeated your tower has been destroyed you have been defeated enemy double kill an enemy has been defeated our base is under attack enemy triple

Enemy quad kill the price must be paid you have defeated an enemy you got to roll with the punches son you have been defeated an ally has been defeated you have been defeated enemy ultimate our base is under attack for
