I have been a half-season ticket member for a while, the Pistons require you to opt out of auto renewal (they just automatically charge your card if you don’t complete the opt out form in the required time after renewals open), but on the opt out form there is a box you can provide a statement or reasons for opting out. Here is what I put in that box, copy pasted into a note since it doesn’t allow me to copy paste here. Was just curious if there is anyone else out there opting out or in to season tickets. We will still maybe renew once we talk to our rep but at lesser seats. Otherwise I have a Pistons home theater and a Bally’s sports subscription to watch Pistons games.

Where do they give away free tickets??????
Detroit is farther than the Palace? Where in the hell are you? The Palace parking lot used to be a nightmare to get out of. LCA has plenty of parking lots around and you’re not in gridlock trying to get out of them. Your complaints about the product on the court are obviously inarguable.
Seats in my section would sell on SeatGeek for half of what I paid as a season ticket holder most games, so I stopped renewing after the 19/20 season.
I’m very happy the Pistons are downtown, as it’s more centrally located for me and much of Metro Detroit, but it just felt like they stopped putting effort into their season ticket holder program. Cool exclusive stuff like framed and autographed art was replaced with a gift card. Perks for food and drinks went away. It seemed like I got a new rep every season. Prices kept going up for a team that kept getting worse. I used my rewards points (all I could “afford” was a Hooper pennant lol) and they spelled my name wrong on the envelope. Enough was enough.
Parking is actually better downtown for me, because I park for free at MGM, while The Palace was $20 in the final seasons with no real alternatives. But still, the Pistons garages are like $50 with no discount. I just wish they’d stop calling me from different numbers to get me back.
One day, the team might be good and I’ll sign up; the real value is when the team is good and you can get a good value for the tickets compared to the secondary market, but who knows, we could be two more decades away from that.
EDIT: come to think of it, I never got a refund for the cancelled Covid games! Thanks Tom Gores!
Where tf are you sitting that you have bad views?
Be more specific..where youre seats and where exactly are you parking? Plenty of options for parking around the stadium. The Palace was in the middle of no where with nothing close by. And it was going to take you 20 minutes minimum to get out the parking lot.
Agree that the palace has perks but having the arena in downtown only makes sense.
That said i opted out of the half season after only one season (21-22). Team is worse now
Full-Season Ticket member renewing
1. Maybe different for full-season but ticket prices didn’t change this year.
2. Kind of depends on where your seats are, but in addition to my seats, have sat in mezzanine and a variety of lower bowl seats. Didn’t experience a single bad view, though the mezzanine does feel steep.
3. Parking is easy, variety of options that can be both cheap or expensive depending on your willingness to walk. It’s pricey but personally I prefer the UWM garage.
4. Ticket exchange system just involves choosing to return the ticket and then choose a different game to apply the credit to. If you want to resell, from my experience, value is just fine. I only go to 15ish games each year and end up making back most if not all of what I paid despite us being one of the worst teams.
5. The Palace is in the middle of nowhere?
6. Sure, Gores tenure has been poor but the team itself seems to have a promising direction it’s headed in.
There’s so many things to complain about with this team but “I miss the suburbs, parking hard :(“ is not one of them
