  1. Never seen them get so much shit besides tonight in the GDT

People are still bitching about last years mvp? I don’t even think it’s the biggest robbery in recent memory. I think Harden should have won it over Westbrook in 2017. Westbrook literally won it over Harden that year just because he averaged 2 more rebounds per game.

  3. Jim Pete’s right. LeBron should have won 5 in a row.

And with the way the Nugs are performing this season, being lead by Jokić, 4 in a row seems highly likely, too.

Here’s a comparison of the top 3 MVP candidates last season:

    22/23 Jokic: 24.5/12/**10** on **70.1% TS**, 48-21 record in **69** games played, **+640**

    22/23 Embiid: **33**/10/4 on 65.5% TS, 43-23 record in 66 games played, +424

    22/23 Giannis: 31/**12**/6 on 60.5% TS, **47-16** record in 63 games played, +341

It’s certainly close but IMO this season was the first one where Embiid was actually outplaying Jokic prior to his injury(35/11/6 on 64.5% TS and a 26-8 record with a worse team than last year) and Jokic generally had a moderate but definitive edge in other regular seasons

Don’t necessarily have a problem with Embiid winning one because he’s had an insane run in the RS but the “Jokic is a playoff fraud” narratives that were popular around this time were always so stupid if you look at the teams he was playing with in 2021 and 2022

  5. Solid-Confidence-966

Last year was a wash and could’ve gone either way tbh

  6. Typical-Gold-29

Voter fatigue absolutely helped Embiid last season. He did have a solid case for mvp tho, even if his foul merchant style makes the game unwatchable.

  7. A_SandlerthaGOAT

If he won last year he wasn’t gonna win this year lol they aren’t gonna give someone 4 in a row especially when there’s so much talent in today’s league.

Saying Embiid didn’t deserve it is crazy though, he was killing it last season. Denver decided to coast or just hit a slump(whichever) while Philly had the hardest remaining schedule post allstar and they dominated it, ended the bucks 16 game win streak and beat Boston with Embiid scoring 50 on like 4 missed shots.

Very few have won 3 in a row and they weren’t going to give it to someone who hadn’t had much playoff success even though it wasn’t his fault.

  8. dnfnrheudks

Could you imagine he does win a 4th one what kinda stats would he have to get to win 5 because that’s goat territory

  9. referee-superfan

Don’t sleep on Giannis, but also they’re right.

  10. I always thought the first one should have been Giannis’, but sure

  11. 693275001

Babe wake up more ’23 mvp discussions just dropped

  12. Why does Jokic get this hype for MVPs more than LeBron did in most of the 2010s? Nuggets aren’t exactly dominating the regular season

Edit: Well someone wanna actually reply or you just wanna downvote because the Jokic MVP argument is not as strong as you think it is just because he is humble

  13. Supreme_God_Bunny

The point of glazing lol the only player that has ever had a case for winning 4 in a row is Micheal fucking Jordan and he couldn’t win 3 in row at that

  14. SandyMandy17

Bro averaged 25-12-10 on 63-38-82 as a 1 seed and they gave it to a crybaby flopper

It was Jokic’s award all year

Jokic starts playing less minutes bc they got the 1 seed locked up and Embiid drops 50 on tanking teams resting their players and they gave it to Embiid bc he cried and Perk started bringing up race

  15. Panik_Switch

Last season Jokic was my pick but I don’t think it was some crazy awful pick to give it to Embiid he was great too.

This year it’s Giannis for me and it’s not close at all. 31/12/6 on 62FG% (66TS%) while playing elite defense and being a top 2 seed. Historic in every way, and when you consider how weak the teams been because of the Dame trade then Dame underperforming plus injuries to guys like Khris, it’s a pretty crazy carry job.

  16. StacheBigote420

OK these guys who are commentating must be on here. Who’s going to find their burners?

  17. hackthisnsa

Can’t have some fat white dude winning MVP 4 times in a row

  18. U-casualty

So many Nuggets fans were complaining about the Wolves announcers which tells me no one can ever win

  19. Blackroseguild

I mean he should win mvp this season and last season playoffs showed he was the best player so I don’t think the point is that crazy

  20. redmostofit

He should have won last year. If Embiid had stayed healthy and kept up his play he would have won this year. So it kinda evens out..

  21. BodegaDaddy

voter fatigue is real. i’m sure if it wasn’t, lebron would probably have caught kareem in mvps and jokic would be getting close to catching it.

  22. Yesboi227

Ya jokic should be on his way to the 3rd now. I really wish mavs was a little higher seed like 5th or 4th cause luka is having an incredible season what he has beeb doing is nothing short of generational.

  23. 808zAndThunder

Twolves catching another fine by Silver-Sensei

  24. Lebron also should have one like 5 times in a row in 2010s but voter fatigues a real thing sadly

  25. Repostbot3784

He should win 4 mvps this season bringing his total up to 6, yes.

  26. I mean theyre not wrong, and in not even a fan.

  27. OutlandishnessShot87

If you think Jokic was robbed last year but have nothing to say about Embiid being robbed the previous year to give it to a six seed, you dont know shit

  28. Jhon_doe_smokes

Luka deserves MVP the guy is 35 9 and 9.

  29. stormbros

I’ve come to despise these mvp talks we’ve had every year, even if my guy is winning. Just unnecessarily toxic and just obnoxious to deal with.
