Payton Pritchard TOOK IT PERSONAL When Pat Bev Did ‘Too Small’ Gesture | Celtics vs Bucks Postgame

Pton what went through your mind when Pat Bev did the two small who did he do it to like when he scored was it to me or I remember him I remember seeing it but uh I don’t know kind of lit a little fire on me did you

Take it personally even though it may not have been direct yeah I feel like he just he’s trying to clown one of our teammates so definitely took it a little personal what did that spark in you on the floor to bring more energy bring more dog to it I mean I think that

That’s what he Prides himself on so trying to bring more than him do you enjoy games like that when it gets chippy 100% I think it brings the the best out of people uh the biggest competitor so was that the source like you’re were showing a lot of emotion out there in

Addition to playing hard was that the source of it or just something else I feel like that was kind of a playoff game I mean it had the atmosphere like it uh the energy in the building so I don’t know I just was ready for it what were you able to take advantage

Of what were we yeah but you during that to I think we just we went to some of our like octagon which is like a side pick and roll uh use that a little bit but I feel like for us it’s just like the energy like the pace we were playing

With the intensity um that’s kind of what we were able to really start to exploit there for and make like a big run there so second quarter um you were kind of in charge of the offense especially the first four or five minutes or so what

What were you seeing there what were you trying to attack what were you trying to get your team into um well first of all you’re just trying to get a good shot every time and for me when I’m like handling I’m pushing the pace getting it

Down quick uh seeing who’s on me who’s where’s JT at on the floor you know obviously like that’s hard go to so um and I don’t know you just making the right reads when they isolate and like everybody’s fanned out then it’s my time to you know attack that rebound you grab

Away from Lopez that got a big reaction from you what was what was behind that just a winning play um you know he’s a seven-footer and I’m six foot in you know little in the NBA standard so uh I don’t know just just a competitor yeah

New have haven’t lost a game to an Eastern Conference team in this building this season does that give you confidence going into the postseason uh I think so I think we we’re handling our business at home I think that’s a big difference from last year this year is uh

You know we’re just taking care of things and not like letting little games slip away and so like you know last year I felt like this type of game could have slipped away at the end but we regrouped and finished it is there an emphasis on that 100% 100% where’s that coming from

Um I don’t even know if it’s necessarily at home but it’s like Joe talks to us all the time it’s just you know being smart and uh what’s the right plays at the end of the game what are we living with what are we not living with and you

Know what’s going to come to winning and then what does it do for you seeing JB check Dame that entire game and how he’s a competitor and uh he a dog and he he wants that matchup so we all respect that how do you guys come out of Zone

Like they went to the zone you guys kind of were a little stagnant what what do you guys have to do better against a Zone oh I mean we we’ll be all right I mean it’s sometimes it it happens in college too like I remember playing like

You a team plays man and they play zone and it can slow the pace down I don’t even know if it’s necessary like I still feel like we got good shots it’s just the pace slows down you know we’re starting our offense at like 12 or 14 seconds so it’s just this something

We’re going to look at and we’ll get better at

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics secured their seventh consecutive win with a 122-119 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Payton Pritchard contributed significantly off the bench for Boston, adding 19 points and six rebounds, with 10 of those points coming in the second quarter. Pritchard expressed that he took it personally when Patrick Beverley made a ‘Too Small’ gesture towards one of his teammates, saying, “I remember saying that but I don’t know, he kind of lit a little fire under me… Yeah [I took it personal], I feel like he just, he’s trying to clown one of our teammates. So definitely took it a little personal.” This comment highlights Pritchard’s competitive spirit and solidarity with his team.

  1. If no one has, I highly recommend checking out Pritchard's college highlights – he was an absolute killer. And I really like these games where he gets enough leash to play at his pace, and pick his spots; as bench change-up guys go, not many better in the league.

  2. I’m so glad that I’m part of the few Celtics fans that believed in him
When he went through that beginning of season slump, ppl can’t say I switched up on him.

  3. Payton Pritchard is a gem of a player. Incredibly fast, great defender, great shooter. And height isn't a deterrent, after all Steph Curry, Trae Young and Dame Lillard are all in PP's size range.

  4. I was taking a dump while watching the game, and I shouted in the bathroom "fuck yeah!" when he did that crossover on the right wing 😂

    Got some looks after that

  5. As a fellow Oregon Duck and die hard C’s fan.. can’t express enough how happy I am to see this guy capitalizing on his opportunity this year. So happy we gave him an extension… what a steal of a contract!

  6. I'm just now getting back into the NBA. I sort of drifted away from it for about 10 years. Always been a Celtic fan and watching them this year has been a real treat. I love this guy off the bench. He always brought that fire but I didn't realize how good he was until recently. Him and Hauser are just incredible.
