Right now and the Golden State Warriors if it’s going to be a battle for the N or 10 seed you damn well want that nine seed uh you want to be at home and even though the Warriors won this game tonight there’s still a half game behind

The LA Lakers in the battle for the N9 seed they’re currently three and a half back of both the Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns for the seven seed and they Trail the Sacramento Kings by four games for the six seed not out of the question but there’s only 14 games remaining nine

Road games remaining five home games remaining for the Golden State Warriors and upcoming uh uh this was they had to win this game for a lot of reasons but when you look at the schedule and what’s coming up the Indiana Pacers are no joke and that’s who they play on Friday then

The Warriors go on a road swing that includes the Minnesota Timberwolves and Anthony Edwards and that vaunted huge front court and lineup of theirs they’re on the road in Miami the last I don’t know if you folks remember last year’s road trip when they went to Miami and

Did Orlando and Charlotte I mean that that was the epitome last year of how bad that season was there is a chance for the team this year to avenge that road swing so again pivotal games coming up especially the next three Indiana at home Minnesota on the road Miami on the

Until we saw a moment that I think a lot of Warriors fans were kind of clenching their their their collars clenching their shirts when Draymond Green started to show his old self a little bit he he gets into a a bit of a tussle I I still

Don’t know exactly what started it uh he was playing defense on um Santi Alama uh who had a great game tonight both inside and out that dude was six of 12 from three he was nine of 18 from the field he got an offensive rebound on Draymond

Scored on him I don’t know if words were exchanged but draymond’s grabbing his jersey pushing them for some reason the NBA officials who apparently got a memo a week or two ago saying from now on whatever if it’s a 5050 situation don’t call the foul back off we’ve been

Playing it way too easy on offensive players this year and we’re seeing a tightening in a sense or maybe a loosening I I don’t know what the right verbiage is there but basically they’re not C they’re they’re letting them play now which I personally love I we’re finally seeing basketball without the

Officials being a huge part of it um but the flip side of that was and again I I don’t mean to attack Dre saying this but it was a it was pretty wild for the refs to just let him get away with that he again grabbing uh alama’s Jersey um and

Then and then pushing him as well not a single repercussion for that and then a moment later uh you see Taylor Jenkins having a conversation with the officials and then Draymond decides to kind of slide in there and get involved in that conversation himself Desmond takes offense to that uh those two

Started grabbing each other’s arms because Dre feels like Desmond Bane’s getting into his personal space which he was um and and it almost erupted into a fight thankfully doesn’t Draymond Green gets hit with just a technical and it was an offsetting technical both on him and Desmond Bane so no penalty for all

That Draymond gets away with it a huge side of relief but honestly the Warriors needed that I mean I mean that was a wakeup call and then the the other huge wakeup call was Steve Kerr calling a relatively angrily timeout uh because he didn’t think Jonathan kaminga was

Playing tight enough defense on that same player Santi Alama who was lighting up the Warriors especially in the first half in fact let me pull up his first half numbers here um because Alama was just a pest for a while out there in the first half of this game Santi Alama was

Seven of 12 from the field six of nine from Beyond The Arc and at 21 first half points finished game with 27 so so it was a combination of his shot not falling in the second half coupled with the Warriors really tightening up the defense and the intensity but Dre being

Himself I think is the best way to describe that scenario uh thankfully he didn’t he didn’t cross any lines where he got ejected he didn’t get a flagrant again relief um but Jonathan kaminga clearly took the message to Heart from Steve cerr being challenged for his

Defense on Santi Alama and look from my perspective watching this game I thought it was just a a an overall entire team lack of effort when it came to their defensive lapses including an Alama it wasn’t just kaminga gingham and get as as evidenced by you know the affirmation

Uh Draymond Green incident that he was eating a lot of players up but kaminga took that to heart and when they came out of that timeout kaminga responded strongly he gets he gets not one but two steals those lead to monster slams and again we’ve talked about this before momentum

Is a real thing and Jonathan kaminga has such a force to his game that when he’s fully engaged and and when he’s playing at the peak of his powers this Warriors team is borderline Unstoppable it wasn’t just him though that was lighting it up tonight I I’m gonna give Andrew Wiggins

His absolute due the dude has just not been consistent this year but if if if for the remaining 14 games this regular season if Andrew Wiggins plays like this Anything could happen for the Golden State Warriors I genuinely mean that but the problem is every time we see a night

Like this from Andrew Wiggins he follows it up with like a single digit scoring night uh real fast the stat lines for these Players let’s start off with Jonathan kaminga uh one of those rare nights where he led the team in scoring 26 points in this game five rebounds in

This game four assists two steals which was and I think both of those were immediately following that timeout but his efficiency just continues to impress 12 of 17 from the field his three-point shot continues to be lights out lately he was two of three uh from Beyond The

Ark tonight and and again that’s uh uh you know I was watching the ESPN broadcast of this game and Bob Myers was the color commentator he was saying a lot of fascinating things in fact every time he speaks I’m I’m listening intently uh just because the man knows

Basketball he he was the architect of this entire Dynasty and I I I am fascinated I’m intrigued every time the man talks so when he’s doing a when he’s the color commentator for a game that’s like three plus hours of just Bob Meyer school and I you know my my focus is all

In on his verbage and um and he says a lot of interesting things and and uh so you know anyways so so but he bought up Jonathan kaminga and kaminga ceiling and I’ve been saying on this show that kaminga ceiling is most likely uh Jason

T of the Boston Celtics I don’t know for sure yet it’s it’s still like a TBD situation but Bob Myers said Jaylen Brown might be the ceiling um I think Jason Tatum would be a slightly higher ceiling but either way if that’s who Jonathan kaminga ends up awesome I mean

When he’s getting those steals that is the ceiling that is what could eventually become with Jonathan kaminga and that’s part of what excites me so much about this kid who knows what we’re gonna end up with for the for this guy I mean I it’s it’s fascinating I’m very

Curious to see who Jonathan kaminga is two years from now and who he is five years from now when we see the total picture but it’s three-point shooting again the last five games uh just to put it in perspective going back to March 11th at the Spurs he shot 67% from Deep

Uh at the Mavericks he shot 100% from Deep at the Lakers he shot 67% from deep in that Knicks game I don’t think he had a three-point attempt so the stats say 0% and then tonight again two for three the dude is shooting lights out from

Deep you saw all those monster slams um there was a give and go between him and Gary pton II that was just basketball poetry in effect right in front of us and and then there was another play that really stuck out to me was Chris Paul

With uh what we normally call a lob but in this case it was more like a laser I mean it was just a dart pass I at first I thought it was going to be a turnover and then there’s kaminga grabbing it in midair and just slamming it home

Fantastic night for kaminga he had 18 points in the first half finishes the game again with 26 points and really quickly Andrew Wiggins I have to give him his due this was might have been at least from my perspective the best game we’ve seen all year

Whether or not you know how seriously we can take it considering considering it was the Grizzlies on the other side but look this was a must-win game for the Warriors it absolutely was let’s not kid ourselves here for even a second uh I mean the Warriors have to start playing

With momentum with confidence and with Effectiveness and with execution going into the playoffs uh you know you could talk all you want about the final regular season record and where they are in the standings when they go in but how they’re playing going into the playoffs it means everything and they

Have to be firing in all cylinders if they’re going to have any chance of a run and if we get this version of Andrew Wiggins 29 minutes of play nine of4 from the field he was four of six from Deep his shooting stroke is what’s been

Sticking out to me for the last few weeks uh or a month plus in terms of what’s turned around for him um that that outside shot is huge when it’s falling but maybe the best part for Andrew Wiggins tonight 10 rebounds when when we look back to the 2022 Warriors

And when we think back to the Andrew Wiggins that was the second best player in a team that won the World Championship it was his tenacity his ferociousness inside grabbing big rebounds playing like a power forward that that really was a differenc maker for this Warriors team and the

Rebounding part of it statistically is what sticks out for me when I see Wiggins and whether or not he’s a version of his old self especially from that world title team so to see him grab for to sorry to see him score 22 points to see him grab 10 rebounds uh and and
