NBACHEV REACTS TO RAPTORS LOSING TO THE KINGS 123 – 89 | RAPTORS VS KINGS RECAP

Happy Thursday everybody how y’all doing how yall this is going to be one of the ones we GNA have a good time this was worth the wait this is worth the wait oh my God I got such a great perspective on this thing I needed that I needed I

Needed the the couple days off cuz I had did something wrong in my last video and I had to figure out what I was doing wrong I I y’all might not have noticed the mistake but I did and I’ve been trying to corrected the whole time and I

Fig I figured out what I did wrong by the time I got it all together you know as far as destru is concerned it was time for the game so I’m watching godre I’m listening to Godfrey and Club sh Shay and I’m I’m watching the game and

I’m and after the first quarter I just started getting annoyed I’m not going to even lie to you I start like cuz I hate losing I knew we were I knew what it was I understood it you know what I mean like it’s it’s with no quickley no RJ no

Scotty no yaka Perle no Chris no jont Porter left after the first quarter like so it was like it’s and we’re going up against the six seed in the west who need everyone every team one through eight they need every win to stay in the playoff picture

Honestly n and 10 they can just hold on cuz you know everybody below 10th is like except for the Rockets because they they’re still talking about the Rockets going to make a chance to be in the play in over Golden State whatever [ __ ] whatever want a cookie but there there’s a sense of

Urgency and I’m watching our players and it’s like they’re playing at the pace that they want to play but they’re not aware of what the gravity of this these next three weeks of the NBA are really about like they’re just oblivious to what the [ __ ] is really going on like

[ __ ] these they coming in there for these teams are coming in they not trying to let us win a game for the rest of the year so for the next three weeks whoever we play they’re not trying to let us win especially if they’re in the

Playoff hunt we might not see a win for a while we might get one or two more wins cuz everybody that we’re going up against has a sense of urgency they need the win and we don’t have the the the the roster and the expertise and the

Skill sets and the talents to stop anybody right now we we’re we’re clearly playing with new people and I’m watching them and when you look at professional ball players I have this thing in my head and and and I I hold basketball NBA players to a certain standard because

You expect them you’re the best of the best you’ve made it there to the highest level of basketball despite whatever adversity the odds all of that [ __ ] you made it so you have to be competent and we understand you may have leveraged your genetic Lottery and and didn’t develop certain skills that will

Translate to a better plat like starting point professionally some guys have to take major steps back to develop fundamentals which is you know that’s I understand the reality is we may all have been viewing this thing wrong the whole time in our comparison when we think about their pay their pay scale

Versus the expertise and the experience levels and all that [ __ ] we may be off a little bit right walk with me for a second I’m listening to Godfrey Godfrey Godfrey’s episode with Club sh is the best I’ve ever heard that’s the greatest one I know Cat Williams is the most

Popular but the greatest one is godfre I’m going explain to you why he told a story about him and Seinfeld Seinfeld asked him how long he’s been doing comedy he told him n years up until that point he says so you’re a nyear old do you do you get do you get where

I’m going if you’re a mature a 9year old so remember what you were like at a n as a nyear old you didn’t know a lot very limited not a lot of experience you were dependent on the Elder Statesman and your parents and the the the grown-ups

In your family and the grown-ups in your surroundings to protect you to provide for you to help you to nurture you CU you didn’t know and to also teach you right and I’m sitting here I’m like and when he said that I’m like and that’s

How sign felt like so you’re a NY old and then he said now I’m 27 years in the game I’m a 27y old comic and he said it in a way like it’s it’s relatable to adult years and regular human lifespan right so when you look at it in that

That that context we’ve been looking at it wrong in comparing or I’ve been looking at it wrong I’m just going to hold myself accountable and then if you if you’re relating to it cool if the shoe fits put it on Cinderella but I’m I was like damn I was

Wrong I was [ __ ] I was I was wrong I was I was wrong I was right I was right but I was wrong because when you look at people in Corporate America and who make the same amount of money they are 30 years old in their industry 25 years old in their industry

15 years old in their industry and that’s not that’s not in dog years that’s in real regular years because Corporate America could be gauged differently because it’s more intellectually based where in the NBA it’s more physical and athletic and genetically based we know once you hit a a space athletically you don’t have

Athleticism anymore you don’t like you have to move more calculated at like an older person does because you don’t have the same energy you don’t have the same stamina you don’t have the same bounce and you know Vitality that you used to have you don’t have those natural

Athletic assets anymore they’ve aged so I’m like how do I how do I how do I scale that how do I make make sense so I’m looking at so I started thinking of the dogar concept I’m like so your first year you can multiply that by

Four so your year old in the NBA two your second year you’re an 8y old and third year you’re a 12y old and fourth year you’re a 16y old and fifth year you’re 20 year old and 6 year 24 year old and seven and 28 year old and you

Know what I mean eight you’re you know you’re 32 year old and then you get all the way up to LeBron is [ __ ] 80 years old let’s just say LeBron is a 80 old dude still doing it right he’s still hooping he’s a he’s a that’s 80

Years that’s how that’s how I can rationalize it because I can put it in context of what I was like or what life is like at that age it helps me really understand that experience because we’re going off of physical which ages differently than the mental which you can get stronger and more

Durable and flexible and more and stronger mentally as you grow older so your 30 years may be that of you building strength and experience but athletically you no matter what you do that’s going to be gone soon because because Father Time hasn’t lost yet when it comes to physicality I mean you have

The LeBron and you have the Kobes and that nature but the athleticism is definitely going to be gone right so now you’re looking at these years and that will enable you to understand that’s their age in basketball in the NBA that’s their NBA age so when people act

A certain way or play a certain way you’re like yo that is something you’re you’re only 12 years old so I’m mean in in the NBA in ba years in the NBA concept cuz your third year 12y old most 12y olds rely on you know the Elder Statesmen the older

People around in their environment to teach them to you know what I mean they expect protection as they grow and mature and figure things out and learn everything is brand new new you know what I mean you you remember what you were like at 16 you remember what you

Were like at 20 and 24 and 20 so you can connect the dots better when you look at it from that perspective because now your expectations are more realistic some of these guys now guys who are in their eighth year and they’re middle-age ball players so to speak then

You’re like [ __ ] it’s time to go you like like yeah yeah you’ve been here eight years you ain’t really you’re 32 in basketball years you should know better now that’s where that starts you should know better you should be better also you could do that in you

Know after the seventh year or in the middle of the seventh year because by the time you’re 28 you should know better than be doing you should have a better understanding 24 is like the ending of the real fun and more of Life reality you have to be more strategic

Because you’re starting to you’re in your Prime but you realize 30 is around the corner it listen you starting hey you don’t relate with the 20 year olds and the 16 you’re having a different experience you know what I mean every age once you go to the next age you

Don’t you get you’re no longer a part of a certain age group and in life every 3 four years you age out of an age group or you know and then your before you know it you know you’re far removed from it and you have to be more cerebral and

More thoughtful and mindful and aware of your environment we had players who just they’re you can tell they’re four four year olds and eighty olds in basketball age and they play like it they their their awareness their awareness of where they are and what they’re supposed to be

Doing and what can be done is apparent so you just you I get it okay cool that’s what I’m looking at that’s how I could rationalize it and understand it cuz we went up against the Kings team with nobody and these guys they had no chance going up against the six seed

Team they had no chance against the Kings they needed that win they had everything like we’re talking about the eighth team the eighth the eigh and scoring third and three-point shooting no no third and three-point like three three-point shots made 11 11 and shooting you know what I mean Fifth and

Shots taken you know what I mean the the their Fifth and three-pointers made fourth and threes taken you know second and perimeter shooting like these [ __ ] like like they they’re they’re they’re in that pocket is what I’m saying athletically sixth in assists 12th in [ __ ] Second Chance points 16 16th in [ __ ] fast

Break points seven points in the paint it was going to be this regardless we’re looking for certain things in certain players though because in all reality this is your dream this is we get to gauge how close or how far you are from your dream we get to see it

And you get to see it as the player experiencing it it’s tough like a lot of these guys just there’s no way and it’s because of the the lack of experience at the pro level they’re just young no matter how much they’ve played anywhere else in the NBA you’re four you’re eight you’re

[ __ ] some of them you know that’s what we had on the court what do you think a AO does in real life in life situations basketball NBA is a life of his own it’s his own lifestyle it’s his own thing so you can really take life

Experiences and put it in that space to rationalize what you’re seeing so I can’t be as upset because I’m like [ __ ] watching an 8-year-old that’s pretty much what they do I’m watching a 4 old that’s pretty much what they do there’s no way and that’s NBA

Terminology not at you know what I mean so I have an understanding I have to I I get to scale it back genuinely and be like yeah just give it time we can’t judge it yet I can’t judge so harshly so soon because it’s still in the infancy

Stage and embryotic stages and things that I I can’t really say what I really want to say until it gets to about the the six year to after the sixth year that’s when they’re 24 and you like Hey listen come on now it’s four years in

You’re six years in what we doing and it all as far as time is concerned it goes by so fast it goes by so fast but you can still I can honestly have that expectation going into the sixth year like okay now I can be harsh but up

Until the 6th year I got to be understanding that you’re still growing you’re [ __ ] you’re not even legal yet when you finish your fifth year you’re all right you’re legal going into your six year you’re legal now now I’m going to give you the Beats now I’m going be a

Headache your efforts and your energies have to be lined up you have to be aware of where you are you made it this far you should know better you should understand everything and you’re still in your Prime in real life as well as your NBA life so there should be no

Disconnect between the opportunities in front of you and what you’re capable of doing consciously and with your subconscious basketball habits so I can’t even like even if I want to I can’t really say [ __ ] even though I hate losing but I had to make sense of it and

It’s like these guys got to understand where they are like this is you’re playing against to suceed you can make a name for yourself here because this game means the world to them so if you have a great performance if you show that in this in this heightened awareness that you aren’t really

Conscious of but you know there conscious of and you just keep up with them and you perform at the highest level that you can you’re going to look like a better look like more of a asset than a liability you’re going to look like someone who when it really gets to that

Point and it’s your time you’ll be ready because even in your infancy stage you’re aware that’s what that’s what Savant saw that’s what baby prodigies are that’s why when you see a 8-year-old Play Beethoven and Bach you’re like you’re amazed because that awareness and that ability and that coordination at

That early age and it may be just due to exposure and teaching but just having it sooner than later makes it better so if you reach that point of awareness as a basketball player earlier you look like a bigger asset it’s the opportunity that young players cannot Meander and move across without

Acknowledging because it’s like that’s a reality that you have to touch on and deal with anyway so embrace it go after it and I didn’t see enough like we were so just conservative 89 points on 80 shots but look at what look at what we had on the court so it’s understandable but

It’s still like it’s opportunity that on so many layers has to be understood because this is your this is what you’ve been waiting for cuz sabonis was waiting for this sabonis was waiting for this every chance he gets to play against us he’s given us his all because Scotty’s

The reason why he’s over there in Sacramento Scotty gave him the Beats see Scotty in his infancy stage before he even finish his first year B sabonis he’s the reason why sabonis got got got traded even though I we all know they traded the wrong guy they should have

Traded Miles Turner because the way that sabonis plays he compliments that team and then can you imagine having also still having Pascal with that team you’re talking about a team that could come out of the East cuz they have someone who you have two players that complement all of the

Guys around you that are Shooters and scorers they make up the difference as opposed to one guy and that then you lose murin so Muran is out and you lose that now you need somebody do the Dirty Work and apply pressure Miles Turner is too passive aggressive as a big man to

Be the factor that he needs to be to help Indie go where they supposed to be going they took a step back losing with thur understandable sabonis if sabonis was still there this team that if if I don’t know if it would have worked out the same but you just what if right

Whenever he plays against us he’s goingon to have an axe to grind because Scotty’s the reason he was there and Scotty did it early everything Scotty’s doing Scotty’s doing early that’s why it looks better he’s that young kid who played Beethoven and Bach at 4 years old Rookie of the Year

Allstar third year which is like imagine a 12-year-old in regular life doing something astounding like graduating high school or a 12-year old on his way to college which is amazing because it’s happening sooner than later his awareness at that stage isn’t expected the things that Scotty does at that

Stage with what they’re expecting him to do is amazing because they’re almost lined up perfectly and these are things you expect uh a six-year guy to to begin to get into a seven-year guy to already be into a 8-year guy already being grossed into a 9-year guy already

Getting the benefits of those last three years of awareness and achievement because LeBron didn’t win his first titles until the the first title that really meant anything was the Cleveland one he didn’t get that till way later in his career his he was a middle-aged ball player where he consciously went after a

Title like he like he was going off for instincts and [ __ ] when he was playing with Miami they just had a had a more talented team than everybody else he didn’t have that in Cleveland it had to be more deliberate and a lot more it was

It meant more because he had to put more thought into it and you got a chance to see that IQ and his understanding at that age which he was more of a middle AG in middle age people tend to have their [ __ ] together logically and technically and if you got enough energy

You can do some magnificent things with that knowledge but sabonis he he really comes and he plays well against us because he feels like sh Scotty did him Scotty did him dirty like we just go yeah you know what I mean and his team is going to Rally behind him and play

For him and they had all the incentives anyway they need the win and they get a chance to beat us it’s a win-win for them right I think I want to I want to see guys aware of the fact that these teams need these wins what could I do I

Got to do something I gotta get in the way I gotta get in the way I got to I got to step up cuz this the summer’s coming it’s three weeks left in the season you got to make a name for yourself this is your opportunity you have to do something that Mak

The owners and the fans believe in you so I’m not talking about the game I’m thinking about the opportunity it’s your this is a once- in a lifetime Groove baby you can’t act like there’s a tomorrow ain’t no [ __ ] tomorrow it’s over after this you going home like Sacramento was every bit of

What they normally are you know what I mean everything they normally do they they they average about 120 points anyway you know what I mean same amount of regular shots same [ __ ] like they did what they normally do we put out a young roster in NBA years

And they do what they supposed to do we never the only way that we could have won this game is if we hit a bunch of Threes cuz they’re a weak defensive like three-point defensive team they’re like last they’re worse than we are defending the three well other than that we they were

Going to do what they normally do which is at a higher level than the guys we had on the court and but we I can’t I hate losing but I understand when you look at the age and you match it up and you make real sense of you like all right cool

I can’t really judge NBA ball players unless you’re after your fifth year like honestly because then you know better you’re legal after your fifth year you are legal then you know I can be harsher your six year seventh on up because you should know better up until if up until your fifth

Year I got to let you make your mistakes it’ll keep me from being stressed out I don’t know how y’all feel about that but watching that game I did have moments where I was frustrated but I remembered the Godfree Theory and I started to rationalize it while I’m

Watching the game and it made it a little more enjoyable for me to watch cuz I knew I was watching something that had to mature and needed more time for maturity before I could be critical and you know be the unbearable [ __ ] that I am at times but you know it just put

It in prop perspective a little more so for me cuz you don’t really look at it like that you just see he’s a professional he’s been here for years but and you comparing to people who’ve been in their industry for 30 years 25 years 16 years in real time real

Intellectual time when you’re judging something that’s intellectual to something that’s physical so athlets like athletes age faster because you’re relying on you know your DNA to hold up long enough for you to bear fruit that’s why they get paid so much so fast because at the end when it’s over it’s

Over when you turn when you can’t play anymore you’re [ __ ] 32 33 years old in most cases and you have 50 more years of life if you’re lucky that’s a lot of time so you’re getting paid for all those next 50 years so you want to make

Enough to make to make up to hold on for the next next 50 so it’s just an accelerated pay scale an accelerated lifespan it’s an accelerated experience but we’re judging it against something that has more leniency and time and accumulation speed and efficiently it gets more time to build because it’s intellectual

Something physical you really don’t have the same time everything is just put in this this this this space and it’s rapidly this microwavable situation and we try to compare it to things that are allowed to be put in the oven for 6 or 7 hours the ribs ain’t going to come out

The same if you put them in the oven than if you than if you put them in the microwave but it’s just how I like it just cuz the game is just the backdrop to the thought to me like I just had this and I’m like I can’t just talk

About the game when I see it like this and if you understand what I’m saying hit me in the comments section so we can further this conversation but trust and believe I looked at the schedule and I was like listen I know I’m going have so much material for patreon and Spotify so

If you haven’t G to patreon and Spotify oh we going to have some things there will be things on YouTube as well today it’s going to be a full day it’s going to be a cuz I knew I would be able to make it up today cuz everybody I

Everybody I like talking about played all together only team that didn’t play was the Knicks but everybody else I like talking about showed up so we gonna have these dope conversations today you know what I mean it is what it is let’s continue having these dope conversations and figuring this thing out

Cuz it don’t make no sense for us to have a headache and and ramble on about old [ __ ] when if you see it from a certain perspective it’s really going in the direction it’s supposed to go in the way it’s supposed to go but it’s just an accelerated space where everything moves

Faster it’s hard to put proper context when you’re comparing it to things that get a chance to cook a little slower so you have to readjust how you see it your perspective to match and be able to have those two things be real you know parallels to one another and make sense

When you when you’re able to look at them and explain yourself but yeah

We loss a game but important that I don’t lose proper perspective. I had to think out the box to understand what’s in the box better.

  1. I don’t mind it as long as our guys are getting meaningfully reps out on the court. This whole thing is a 2-3 year process so I ain’t trippin.💯😤

  2. Hi Chev, Thanks for your analysis as always. While I wasn't expecting for us to win I was disappointed in the lack of effort & pride on the court, especially from certain guys. I saw a lack of basketball fundamentals on the court along with 2 main of the tenets in establishing relationships, communication & trust. The Kings players knew this & capitalized with less than 2 mins left in 2Q . The lead went from 12 -23. The game was over then.

  3. How I view it, they’re doing an audition for next season. Add upcoming changes in the Summer, we’ll be in a much better position in 7 months🤩😉✊🏾

  4. @nbachev I know the Raptors waived marquis. I was watching the 905 game a few nights ago and he was on the bench with the team. Seems he's still been in Toronto. Maybe he'll get another shot to make the team in training camp in October.

  5. Growing pains, but with all those injuries, what else would you expect? Our focus is for the future. All these other teams are in win now mode, but it's all good. The north will rise again soon.

  6. Godfrey is sooooo underrated…..That dude should be waaaaay bigger than what he is. Him and Bobby Lee are a riot together…..

  7. Yup I understand what you said about the age.. Carlisle called Pascal a young 29yr old (8th year in NBA, played baskeball for 11 years so far). Carlisle said that Pascal started basketball so late that he does not have the mileage on his body like the average NBA players… Now you are saying talking about the nba age and what we see on the floor I have a better understanding of the phases. Now I know why FVV got so mad at dumb plays, his clock is ticking he is trying to maximize his bag, he don't have Pascal timeline of earning. ..
    Great show..
