Hit shots but that’s when Denver looks to be at their best is when they’re playing that brand of basketball so yeah this was one that they really did uh look like there was joy in playing the game totally man I mean this was a night of beautiful basketball selfless always thinking about passing

Up good shots for great shots like I watched the NBA and then I watched nuggets and I just want to cry because it’s just so beautiful compared to what every other team’s doing out there we’re just so lucky man ball was popping tonight and there were just were

So many possessions where you’re like that’s it and you know like AG had kind of a a qush night tonight 10 points he did have eight assists tonight AG did four rebounds eight assists but it was a quiet night for him kcp had six points a

Little bit of a quiet night for him but it didn’t matter cuz Murray Porter and yic and Porter and yic in particular were just so freaking good the ball was popping and it was fun they have a nice Rhythm um um Denver does we know this

And this is most teams this isn’t just Denver but Denver I think especially in the yic era they know how much it every game takes they got Portland on Saturday I don’t think you’re going to get this effort because that’s effort’s probably not going to be needed but they seem to

Know what’s needed and tonight more was needed and they had it in the reserves and they had it not just cuz yoke was dominant although that was a big part of it but they just had it in beautiful basketball when it mattered and it was cool but that’s what I was saying also

With how Nicole yic manages games and manage this game tonight I mean he didn’t give everything he had in the first half what gear was he first might have been first he he might have been in that gear below first that you go when you’re like climbing up

A steep mountain or something okay yeah L that L he was in that low gear and then you know third quarter comes around Nuggets win the quarter 2720 he has he plays great defense he got a couple steals in there or he was responsible for a couple steals I don’t

Know if he got credit for him oh he had the one yeah where he tips the ball and then Reggie gets it Reggie gets the steal yeah he knows exactly when he needs to turn it on exactly when he needs to you know shift up and it’s it’s

Beautiful it was really good man the starting five is fun and really the story I mean just to Circle back to it it’s Michael Porter 31 points and eight rebounds and 13 the 13 of 16 is what’s crazy for me de here’s the evolution of Michael Porter at first he’s such a

Great shot maker but he doesn’t know what a good shot is but he’s still ridiculously efficient for a guy that took three bad shots a game maybe four bad shots a game still ridiculously efficient but on the team it disrupted the team sometimes so he had to learn to

Scale back so he wasn’t taking bad shots and the number of good shots that came to him in a game given how he played was like 10 but he’s kind of learned how to get the extra six now off of nice cuts off of putting the ball on the floor off

Of reading the plays off of joic and now he can get 16 shots up all of them feel like they were AB absolutely deserved makes 13 of them and gets 31 points on huge efficiency it’s a really cool Evolution where he’s just become such a complete version of what Denver needs of

Him yeah I mean and the game has opened up for him he had 31 points and he only made three three-pointers like that is crazy another thing is sorry to cut you off he never forced anything tonight never forced anything and well his forcing is just a little bit different

Than other people’s forcing like that’s not a he takes tough shots easy for him it just it look it’s tough to see him forcing anything the three misses that he had all three-pointers yeah he’s opened up the rest of his game man that’s crazy he’s perfect from two he

Was perfect from two um floaters he he looks he looks like he’s like really like in tune with his body right now too he had a reverse dunk he had a off the backboard dunk to himself like that’s that’s like a higher IQ type of play of

Hey I’m stuck right here I’m going to throw it off and I’m going to finish finish it Michael Porter Jr wasn’t making those type of high IQ plays where he could throw it off the backboard to himself either he wouldn’t have caught it or he just wouldn’t have known what

For Denver and how to defend them it is a new dimension because right now he has an off the- dribble game that I don’t think he’s ever really had consistently in a nuggets uniform he’s looking to take his man off the bounce he’s looking

To get to the rim and when he gets there he’s cool finishing through contact and playing physical and playing strong he has good touch man through contact totally and I’m telling you I’ve been on this these last couple weeks ever since I really noticed this coming out of the

All-Star break I really feel like this version of Michael Porter might change everything think for Denver in the playoffs last year man some of the drives that Michael Porter had tonight to the rim a lot of the drives he’s had passing up you know contested threes after the All-Star break like those were

All jump shots last year especially in the playoffs against physical defenses those were all jump shots but and I know this Michael Porter’s Focus this summer was expanding his offensive game it was becoming more of a threat than just being a stand still shooter and we’re seeing that payoff and my God the

About becoming a more complete offensive player and I’m just going to continue to harp on this point the Nuggets aren’t losing in the playoffs with this version of Michael Porter Jr you’re not beating the nuggets with this aggressive multifaceted versatile Michael Porter you’re just not and I feel like yol’s

Feeling it I feel like yol’s going into him more and more too yep The twom Man game with him J and yoke is kind of becoming a thing and who knows maybe we see it a game or two if if Murray’s out you might even see it a little bit more

But I feel like that connection is getting stronger and stronger what do we make of Murray’s game tonight 23 points six rebounds four assists two steals nine of 20 one of two from three I thought he had some really great moment his behind the back pass no finale oop

Tonight but the the Murray behind the back pass was basically the Ender and that was a hell of a way to end it I thought it was a great play and he also had that finish in the fourth quarter so many this game was so funny because it

Had just the feel of a regular season game in the first half and then it slowly started to ramp up it seemed like and then you know in the fourth quarter it’s like okay this is like a playoff game you know um Jamal’s Knight he scored it well you know 23

Points nine of 20 shooting four rebounds four turnovers though here’s what I’m was think well here’s what I was thinking about during this game and what I’m going to say right now this game was only close yeah because of the bench stint to start the fourth quarter yep yep nuggets would

Have cruised and it probably would have been technically a blowout with the garbage time if that bench tint didn’t go as badly as it did first four minutes of the fourth quarter a double digit lead was pretty much erased is it too much to ask Jamal

Murray to lead a bench unit to an even Point differential against the Knicks like they they got Alec Burks who at 18 Off the Bench tonight Y is that too much to ask right for Jamal Murray to lead a bench group and just break even is that like Jericho Sims

Bogdanovic aoua Burks it’s not exactly a murder’s row they play hard again it’s the Knicks they play hard we’ve seen how bad a lot of benches are throughout the league man like is that too much well so here’s the thing I don’t want to be personally too hard I’m curious what you

Think Dev I don’t want to be too hard on him tonight even though I do agree with you that there was a moment where I thought Murray one needs to take over that bench and needs to score getting locked up by Miles McBride a little bit in the post he’s getting frustrated

There and then um you know there are some points where you almost just feel like he’s okay now he’s going to try to make a point to go at him or this or that but out I don’t want to I almost feel like I’m picking n here I just feel

Like he’s at a level as a player where he should be able to do that where are you fall You’ be the judge I mean I think that he should be able to do that but I think that there’s so much asked of him and so much of kind of taken away

From his game and who he is that it becomes difficult at times because if he locks into running that unit and carrying that unit scoring it takes away from what makes him so special alongside Nicola joic in running that two cuz you want him to find that guy so like

There’s times at the game that you just like want him to snap and just be able to score yeah he’s like I don’t you know I can’t just do that every single time and that’s why it’s so important to have a really good you know backup um point

Guard so you don’t have to put so much pressure on him at at times I loved in this game that he was so aggressive he didn’t make every single shot in this game but he took a lot of shots and um this was a physical game which I also

Think that Jamal if anybody likes the physical games a little bit more um than other times I think that he kind of got aggressive and pressed on some of those shots but also you you want Jamal to take things personal you want him um to get involved and when he got tackled by

Alex Burks that was that’s when he locked in it it actually is that’s what happens every single time right it’s it when he takes the game personal is when Jamal is the best Jamal and that’s why the playoffs is so you know good for him cuz he’s so locked in he’s so he’s

Taking every possession personal um and I wouldn’t trade that right I I just wouldn’t trade that and Nugget’s now 13 and2 post All-Star break post text message yeah yeah 13 and two you can’t take it for granted man like I know what is the I think the Knicks are 15-2 with

OG in the lineup and that’s an insane number and everybody’s talking about that number this or that nuggas are 13 and two just post text message post Allstar break so they’re playing this ball that is like extremely remarkable extremely notable um and and you know nights like tonight

Against a very good team last thing on that real quick like I know he’s playing with Christian Brown Payton Watson they’re not going to give you a lot of offense individually he had DeAndre Jordan out there with them tonight but it’s Jamal Murray you know

Yeah I’m with you I’m with you and and if the Situation’s not great with that bench like the ownership of hey what do I got to do that’s this is the thing there’s a couple things that differentiate All-Star caliber Superstar caliber players from everybody else one and I remember asking Kevin Duran about

This in 2017 about nikic and he said there’s a lot of guys that could be good in spots but to be at the next level you just have to be good every single night talking of yoke and at that moment he wasn’t he did have his emotional Funk

Games he had this or that yoke very quickly became good every night and we’ve seen it I don’t know if Murray can do that or not but the other part of it is the team becomes yours that second unit is yours and look Murray has taken

Over this team in the spots you know obviously with yoke and this or that I’m unassailable in those ways but that bench unit it kind of is on him Malone is going to roll him out there he needs to figure out it is on him to get

Everybody to do what it is if it’s like okay I’ve got to score what do you need from these guys to make it easier for you to score what do you got to do because right now a 12-2 run in the fourth quarter tonight the Nuggets

Survived it but they’re not going to be able to survive it all the time let’s talk about the other guys though Christian Brown and pton Watson again project Dynasty Dev kind of a not very noteworthy night from those two yeah I don’t think that the bench played

Well like at all I think that Reggie was the only one that was decent in this game but that’s that’s what needs to come along because we all know um how good the Nuggets starters are we know that there’s not a starting you know unit in the league that could beat this

Team for you know four games and and they’re going to have to play the the the starting for a long time in those but you also need those stretches you need those relief so when somebody doesn’t have it going on if a Michael Porter J Jamal don’t you know make all

Those shots then then what happens if Nicola yic doesn’t go Godly um you need someone else to step up and give you that energy um and just something extra and I feel like the bench didn’t have that extra um this game looked to be a little bit too physical for them um so

You just kind of want them to not only like find that identity just but just to have that energy that like Hypes the other guys up um and it was lacking tonight I think you’re right I’m liking what I’ve seen out of Reggie Jackson over the last couple of

Games six assists two turnovers against Minnesota but he was a big positive in that game tonight four assist one turnover it’s nothing that we’re going to like plan a parade about right but he hasn’t been a huge negative I feel like in these last couple of games like he

Was you know for the last couple of months largely that I think is trending up um but also man I feel like time is up with the bench we’re at that point in the season we can see the Finish Line like what could really happen we’re not going

To have some like miraculous Revelation about the Nugget second unit this is what it is yeah we know it’s going to be cut down in the playoffs we’ve tried to mix and match and stagger All Season it never really worked yeah just like it never really worked last

Year but that’s how I feel like we’re going to be heading into the playoffs the last note I have is just DeAndre Jord tonight 9 minutes was a minus5 I I have nothing against DeAndre he’s not he does his role on this team perfectly well his role is to be the

Mentor veteran bench presence I do always get annoyed whenever I hear people clamoring for More DJ minutes and it’s always like when Zeke’s playing poorly it’s like put DJ in there I’m and my thought is always you guys know it’s going to be the same with DJ right like
