    Adam Silver admitting he’s losing the league to the players

  2. we’ve been past that point

    dudes aint risking injury for a show match.

  3. HokageEzio

    I don’t get why people keep pitching USA vs International as some fix like Luka and Jokic weren’t two of the guys dicking around the most. It’s like people watched a totally different game.

  4. USA bench slaughters International bench.

    But International starters are stacked yeesh: Giannis, Embiid, Jokic, Luka, ~~Markannen~~ SGA

  5. AutographedSnorkel

    If only Adam Silver cared as much about fixing the officiating as.he does fixing the all star game

  6. biinroii01

    bro nevermind the all star game adam silver, why dont u deal with the draft king ass refs

  7. USA vs Balkan

    Balkan

    Starting 5

    * Jokić
    * Antetokounmpo
    * Dončić
    * Nurkić
    * Bogdanović

    Coach: Gregg Popovich

    GM: Vlade Divac!!!

    Real VMP: Boban The r/bobanholdingthings Marjanović

  8. Give the players of the all star game incentive to win. Money, drugs, women something worth competing for.

  9. PusseySleigher

    They cant even play in international games outside Olympics lmao what more in an exhibition game lol

    It’s funny how everyone agrees the game sucks and nobody cares about it, but the most radical change that they can come up with is “what if we picked teams differently,” and they keep trying this in a bunch of different flavors.

    Have the Olympic coaches pick the teams and select the Olympic team immediately after the game. Make the “All Star” team just the winning team, so the losing players don’t get any honor. Give a player on the winning team an exclusive shoe. Try something more consequential than “but what if we picked teams differently”

    Adam silver just be throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. This man has absolutely zero long term strategy 😂

  12. lucky-me_lucky-mud

    They should call it good guys vs bad guys

  13. RIP-MikeSexton

    “1300 incredibly competitive games”.

    Would be valid if they didn’t sit out for rest half the time

  14. trueNacccho

    Fuck the all star game. Get rid of foster and brothers

  15. maxandgeorge

    Why don’t we just have a 3v3 tournament where the 3 winners split $30M?

  16. Combine the rookie/sophomore vs all stars. Two things happen imo:

    1. Reduce all star selections and select best of the best

    2. Effort from vets increases bc they’re not gonna let youths embarrass them

  17. toastyshenanigans

    How about USA vs International 3 on 3 instead of skills challenge

  18. They will put more effort into random scrimmage against locals in summer runs, than they will on a platform like the all star game.

    I can guarantee you every Rico Hines game is 100x more competitive than the best all star game, and that’s just stupid.

    These players are just entitled, spoiled, brats. Even if they’re an all star on my team like Scottie Barnes or Pascal Siakam.

    Though quick shout out to Kyle Lowry who was the ONLY reason why that game a few years ago was amazing.

  19. dcoolidge

    I think they should do an old vs young. Like split the allstars down the mean and have them play each other. It would be hilarious if it ended up being big vs little.

  20. Make it white vs black players for peak ratings.

  21. thesqrrootof4is2

    There will definitely be a lot of people snubbed from the US under this potential formula and that’s enough to not consider it much really

  22. Learnin2Shit

    Just cancel the all star game. It’s been a shitshow since Kobe died. Kobe was the last dog that brought his all to the all star games and made everyone else try. Lebron and Steph can’t bring that mindset to the league and jokic could clearly care less lol.

  23. compootering

    They should have a money incentive for the NBA ASG like they did for the playing tournament. Each player in the winning team gets 250k… Money is the biggest motivator…

  24. ValuableAssociate8

    Adam Silver ruined the NBA. He became commissioner in 2014. League been soft every since 2015. He tried to make to many changes and ruined the essence of the game. Fuck him.

    The biggest problem with the All Star Game is the fact that we get to see the All Stars play all the time, every night, on regular nationally televised games. It used to be important for the stars, to showcase what they could do, and it used to be important for the fans as a chance to see guys they might miss completely until the playoffs if they miss just a few nationally televised and local games.

    We can’t make that relevant again in the way it used to be. We. Simply. Can’t. There is no real avenue in the world of national games and league pass.

    So we need to open it out more. All Star Weekend should function as an NBA Player Conference. We can still call it All Star Weekend – but instead of the fans voting in the best NBA Players to the (now irrelevant) All Star Game, lets have the fans vote for the All Stars of the weekend.

    The fan vote gets to happen in real time, as the events progress… lets invite anyone in the league.

    * Dunk contest.
    * 3 point contest.
    * 3 on 3 contest.
    * 1 on 1 contest.
    * Skills challenge.

    And you could add some more to that! Maybe, for their own good, limit players to X number of contests based on minutes played per game and games played, so we aren’t dealing with guys who play 5 minutes per night trying to get an All Star nod. Like – you can only enter a max of 3 contests, and you can only enter up to 3 if you’re playing 30 minutes per night, 2 if you’re playing 20, 1 if you’re playing 10, and if you’re playing less than 10 you can’t participate.

    The top end limit exists so you don’t have someone getting hurt trying to enter seven different contests to steal an All Star nod.

    And then you tally up the vote on the 24 NBA All Stars using a fan vote to determine who the All Stars of the All Star Weekend were. Guys who are actually getting on the floor in real games have the best shot, because they can enter the most contests.

    Thanks to a post earlier from u/mangosail for the notion that inspired this cracked-out idea: that maybe we can name the All Stars based on a performance during all star weekend, though he didn’t go anywhere near as far as I did with this wildness lol.

    I believe that this plan injects novelty into the event that would last year-over-year by providing an opportunity to really showcase players who might not have had that cachet with the fans, providing us with the show we actually want, instead of the current voted-in all star rosters and all star game, which merely gives us the show we think we want.
