The Spurs’ Secret Plan For Wemby: Genius or Disaster?

The Spurs’ Secret Plan For Wemby: Genius or Disaster?

I strongly believe we are just a handful of months away from the Spurs putting together a super team for Victor wimpin Yama after this year is done and as crazy as it sounds there’s a good chance Victor could be competing for a championship next season let me explain

How let’s just get straight to the point wimy isn’t an ordinary rookie he’s an All-Star Talent already and honestly I strongly believe he’s a top 10 siner if I had to name Sinners who were 100% better today than him it would be Nicola yic Joel embiid Anthony Davis Damonte

Sabonis Rudy goar bam aobo Kristof porzingis and aliran shingon other than those guys I’m taking wimy over any other Center in the game no question due to his crazy talents it seems as if the Spurs are tempted to steer away from the normal let’s be trash for like 5 years

And hopefully be an elite team by building through the draft they recognize that their time is now most young and bad teams have to develop their top draft pick into Stars which could take 3 to 4 years at the least however like we just mentioned they already have their star so they can

Start the process really early it makes even more sense when you consider the fact that they’ll have another top pick in this year’s draft as well maybe we’re witnessing the start of a dynasty and we don’t even know it Victor is one piece this upcoming draft pick could be

Another and an offseason s could be the third piece and we’re going to reveal who they should go after later in this video but a lot of fans don’t understand how dynasties are built and that’s because nothing is organic anymore in this era dynasties nowadays come from

Stars just jumping ship and teaming up on a new Squad every other year because of that sometimes we can forget just how beautiful it is when a super team or just a championship level team is built from the ground up no shortcuts and what better example to use than the team

We’re talking about the year was 1997 and the Spurs led by the dominant Big Man David Robinson were in dire need of Rejuvenation after a disappointing season fate intervened in the form of the NBA draft lottery where the basketball Gods smiled upon San Antonio granting them the first overall pick

With that pick the spur selected Tim Duncan a prodigious Talent out of Wake Forest University heralded as a franchise altering presence Duncan’s arrival in San Antonio ignited a spark of hope among fans and teammates alike his relaxed demeanor and unassuming nature belil a fierce competive of spirit and an insatiable desire for

Greatness paired with the Admirals veteran leadership Duncan wasted no time in making his Mark earning Rookie of the Year honors and leading the Spurs to a dramatic turnaround as Duncan star brightened the Spurs continued to improve their roster seeking compliment pieces to surround their upcoming superstar in 2001 they struck gold once

Again selecting Tony Parker a lightning fast point guard from France with the 28th overall pick in the NBA draft Parker’s emergence inject Ed a new dimension into the Spurs offense his quick silver drives to the basket and super Elite Court Vision earned him widespread Acclaim but it was in the

Summer of 2002 that the final piece of the puzzle fell into place the Spurs always keen on scouting International Talent took a chance on an unheralded Argentine shooting guard named Manu jino despite going relatively unnoticed in the draft janob possessed a flare and creativity that immediately caught the

Ice Spurs head coach Greg papovich together Duncan par and job formed a trio unlike any other in the NBA a perfect synthesis of skill selflessness and pure determination dubbed The Big Three The First Taste Of Glory came in 2003 when the Spurs defeated the New Jersey Nets in the NBA Finals to capture

Their second championship in franchise history Duncan Parker and job were the architects of San Antonio’s Triumph their Collective Brilliance shining brightest on basketball’s grandest stage but their Journey was far from over over the ensuing years the Spurs continued to dominate the NBA bringing home three more championships in 2005 2007 in 2014

Duncan’s masterful post playay Parker’s Wizardry with the ball and job’s Fearless shot making became what many thought was the blueprint to a dynasty which at the time it was you see the Spurs struck gold in the draft and who’s to say they won’t do the same this year

One Prospect who was born to be a Spur is Nicola topic watch one of our most recent draft videos videos to see a further analysis on his game but this kid has a lot of potential and perfectly fits what this team needs he’s a 6’7 point guard with Incredible Court vision

And a pretty good ability to get downhill I strongly believe he could be amazing for this team one of the many things that’s holding the Spurs back in the win column is their point guard situation or lack thereof topage could come in and add a whole new flare to the

Spurs offense and give wimy more touches which will increase the wins how many wins not sure it all depends on how well topage plays and the thing is nobody’s asking him to come in and be a top five point guard all he has to do is average

Around 6 to8 assists and build great on and off the court chemistry with wimy he doesn’t need to put up 20 points per game nor be Steph Curry from three however in today’s era bringing in top free agents to construct Elite rosters is the new way of the game and while

Just last season that would have been bad news for the Spurs Drafting wimy and seeing how B line Elite he has been has put the entire league on notice I mean seriously every Elite player in the NBA has come out and talked about how incredible wimy is on the floor from

Kyrie Paul George Draymond LeBron KD you name it they all acknowledge Him as being that dude not just a rookie and that’s why it isn’t crazy to think that some of the best free agents wouldn’t want to sign here this summer free agents like LeBron Paul George and James

Harden are going to be available but of course let’s be real while they are still Elite players they are leaning more towards the end of their careers than the beginning especially LeBron but that’s not the end of it because during the 2025 season next year there are a

Few players the Spurs should keep their eyes on one player being Lowry marinin at 26 years old there is no doubt in my mind he wouldn’t be a nice fit next to wimy Lowry could play the four and he could be the five or vice versa despite

What some may think big lineups work just look at the defending Champions Nicola joic mpj and Aaron Gordon are a big forward in center Front court and it helps on both ends of the floor also the Cavaliers this season have one of the best defenses in the league when Moy and

Jared Allen are on the floor and of course the Minnesota Timberwolves have Rudy goar and Carl Anthony towns in their front Court Lowry’s averaging 20 points for the Utah Jazz while shooting an insane 40% from three having two giants who can score like wings will be too much for defenses to handle because

If low or wimy get the ball down low you have to double or overh help a bit but when you add in the fact that marinin is a terrific off ball cutter and wimy shown flashes of being a good passer you can just imagine how well this offense

Could flow especially if they draft Nicola topic who will run the point now who would the Spurs have to give up not sure but keep Jeremy Sohan at all costs soan is an extremely versatile Defender players like him simply don’t grow on trees finding a 6’9 Defender who can

Defend three to four positions will be crucial for this team to contain the best teams and scores in big games tell me what you guys think about a marinin and wimy pairing but for whatever reason if that trade didn’t happen I would go after Donovan Mitchell if the Cavs get

Upset again early in the postseason I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted out or the Cavs moved on for him to retool their team Mitchell had a lot of success with Rudy goar in Utah and has worked well with Allan and Moy with the Cavs so

It’s clear his big men benefit from him and vice versa he’s quietly having an MVP level season putting up 27 points per game and the hope would be that there would be a domino effect once Mitchell is in San Antonio because I mean who wouldn’t want to play with him

And wimy and it doesn’t even have to be more Superstars it could simply be highquality role players Josh giddy is someone I think they should take a look at as well especially if Nicola topic doesn’t pan out to be who they thought and this all is if they even select him

They very well could pick someone else but he hands down makes the most sense I know Rob Dillingham is a bucket but you already have Kellin Johnson and Devon Vel putting up good scoring numbers and that’s barely moving the needle for this team’s success so they need a

Facilitator to run the offense and set things up and topic can do that with the rise of Jaylen Williams and Cas Wallace that has made giddy more Expendable he and wimy would be amazing together in the pick and roll it’s just a thought Victor wanyama has been a monster

Putting up 20 10 and three while leading the NBA in Blocks he’s also an 80% free throw shooter which is very good for any player let alone a 7 fo4 Center he’s proven he’s already at least a top 45 player in the league so there’s really

No point in making no moves this off season or by next year’s trade deadline and being bad for another season plus there aren’t any more generational prospects coming up in these next few drafts so that’s another reason to go all out on building a playoff roster whether it’s with low marinin Donovan

Mitchell Josh giddy or someone they’re able to snag like Trey young next season it could be the start of something special it all depends on the direction the Spurs want to take but what do you think about all this should the Spurs skip the rebuilding process and try and

Bring in a star to pair with them or should they just continue to be bad and build through the draft let me know in the comments down below thanks for watching and I’ll see you in the next one

  1. I havent watch much of the NBA in a while (Sadly, I am a Wizards fan…), so I am unfamiliar with the current NBA. However, Wemby is absolutely phenomenal. If I could pick a power forward to pair him with from the past, I would choose Dennis Rodman or Ben Wallace. Obviously, they are tremendous defenders, that can guard multiple positions. They arent offensive focused, so they would allow Wemby the inside scoring. Of course, they can score off him dumping the ball or put backs. Im not sure who would be the closest match today the NBA to them would be, but that would be a nightmare of a front court to try to score in.

  2. Spurs are dead last without Wemby on the floor, so they need reliable defenders all around.
    Lauri – could work
Giddey is average at best in most categories, his vision is what still keeps him in the league, but if he doesn't improve drastically in 3pt shooting he'll be out of any reasonable conversation or even out of the league

  3. Giddy gets booed every time he hits the floor in most cities, SA included. So that ainā€™t happening. The Spurs cut Primo for less, why would they be interested in a (alleged) child predator?

Spurs need 2 solid ā€œroleā€ players and a pg. Markkanen makes sense, Topic does also.

  4. I wouldn't trade this kid for anyone in the league…i don't care what you say…and thats a fact jack…this kid changes the game defensively like we haven't seen since the days of the great center's of the 80s and early 90s…player's don't even want to go into the paint and throws opposing teams offense into disarray lots of times…id have to get multiple Allstars and draft picks and still i would be hesitant to do it…

  5. I like the trade for Lauri, and they def have the picks to get it done. Jazz is well-known for wanting picks to rebuild. A Wemby, Lauri, Sochan frontcourt would be elite to say the least. Draft Nikoli Topic then straight up sign Trae Young the following year. Trae has voiced wanting to join Wemby, just sign him. With that starting 5, go out & use your extra draft picks to fill the biggest positions of need.

  6. Build for the draft. A talented super star, with a fair price, will come to San Antonio at some point, for the mere reason, to play with Wemby. It's not something they have to put as a priority to really seek out. Building through the draft, and trading up for higher draft picks is probably the better long term strategy, but I'm sure everyone wants to see Wemby in a championship game already. He's incredible, but it kind of feels like that's a lot to ask, so quickly, kind of like how the Cavaliers were hoping LeBron would win a championship for them before he was 20 years old… I suppose it can happen, but it strikes as a high expectation. How about the Spurs get back to the playoffs next year? Seems a reasonable goal…

  7. Josh giddy???? Really
I noticed you didn't analyze just what Josh giddy does better than players they have????

I mean Jeremy Sochan shoots better from 3
And Josh is just about the worst finisher I've seen play

Actually watch giddy for a game
Sga gets that team some great looks

But man you gotta explain how Josh giddy helps being 4 years in the league avg 11 on horrible efficiency šŸ˜®

  8. Spurs need defense first sochan did not convinced me and vassell is ok in offense but on the other side of the court not really so we need a forward that is a 2 way player through draft zach collins is not good enough offensively or defensivly so a veteran would be great spurs needs d3f3nse to win so many times thats why they have lost tight games iā€™would say about ten games so another vet on the perimeter would be great

  9. Spurs has enough assets. It would be so sweet if they can trade for Trae Young and Mikal Bridges.

  10. Above everything else, the Spurs need better shooting at every position around Wemby. Teams double and triple team him cause they can leave nonshooters. Spread the floor, give Wemby more space and the offense becomes elite.

  11. Trey Young would be great for the Spurs. Or topic(h). But the Tre Jones isnā€™t bad. That may not be his natural position,, but he and Wemby play well together.

  12. I had to stop watching after the bold statement of Wemby being the tenth best Center. There are two things to consider "trade value" which unless you offer the starting five Denver Nuggets, no one is trading for Wemby. And "analytics today" value on paper today. Trade value, mano h mano, I am not even sure you could get Wemby for Jokic or Embiid today? I think I will take Wemby +10 years. So Wemby #1. On paper today, I have not run the numbers, but doubt Wemby is worse than anyone but maybe Jokic. Embiid, get him out of the Hospital, and let me know. Put Wemby in Boston, Sac, Miami or next to LeBron, and see how he looks.

  13. The Spurs could get that 7.4 300lbs center from Perdue to pair with Wemby and get a legitimate point guard in trades.

  14. Sabonis Adebayo Gobert Porzingis are all worse than Wemby. AD might be borderline suspect with his injury unavailability history.

  15. … that's crazy…I wouldn't take no center or player over wemby…wemby is putting up crazy stats on basically 28 mpg…every other player play over 34 mpg…and they have better players around them and they're not rookies…wemby would be better than them next season except for jokic and embid…but he'll be better than jokic and embid in his 3rd season… depending on what the spurs do in the off season i wouldn't be surprised if wemby was the best center next season…on 28mmpg averaging almost 21ppg and 10.5rpg 3.5bpg 3.5apg 1.3spg…just imagine what he can do with better playersšŸŽ‰ around him and more minutes and a year under his belt…yeah I wouldn't take any center or player over wemby…

  16. Your list of centers better than Wemby is way, way too long. Porzingas…Sabonis…nah. Jokic, Gobert, and Bam are the list. Embiid chokes in the playoffs, Davis can't be relied upon to play three games in a row, and the others just have too many holes in their game. Opening day of next season, Jokic will be the only name on that list.

  17. Every big benefits šŸ§ from having a productive point guard alongside him. I feel like the logical safe choice is for the Spurs to go for Trae Young šŸŽÆ by giving Atlanta all their picks back alongside a few young players. Whilst drafting the next best large guard from Serbia (Luka being previous).

If the Spurs could land those two this off-season via draft and trade that would be a W for Pop and SA in the new positionless-scoring era.

  18. Thats how the bulls developed a Dynasty. Kerr best 3 point shooter, Scottie defense and best 6th man. Rodman, best rebounder etc.

  19. Youā€™re actually autistic and coping with that intro šŸ˜šŸ’€ Wemby wayyyyyy better the every center expect Embiid and Jokic and Maybe AD

  20. Lebron will play for the Spurs next season. He loves Pop and wants to go out on top. They could probably trade for Cade Cunningham as well.

  21. I'm sure the spurs will be a playoff team next season but not a championshop team that depends on how they play the first round.

  22. Sheeshā€”no mention that ā€œfateā€ with spurs = David Robinson breaking his legā€”thatā€™s why they got the pick they used in Duncanā€¦

  23. Donā€™t love Markkanenā€”they need someone much beefier and tougher to go with Wemby. I hope they donā€™t get Zion, cuz I want him for my team!!

  24. I am an excessive nostalgic die-hard born in San Antonio and loved the Spurs since birth person and would love to see a "Twin Towers" type situation again, but my personal thought is that their most pressing need is a true PG/facilitator that can run the offense in such a way as to avoid so many damned turnovers. Their defense is often leaky, but all the turnovers are like holding calls in the NFL: Momentum crushing. Again, going back into history, while I hope they can get a new Tony Parker, an Avery Johnson type would do the team well as they continue to develop how to best utilize their core, which in my personal opinion is Wemby, Devin Vassell, and Sochan.
