I think Thibs’s quote of “Hasn’t had any setbacks” is key. Previously, Begley reported that there was some concern that Randle was stuck on this stage for a while and wasn’t progressing as hoped. I think what Thibs saying here pretty much contradicts that previous Begley report (sidenote: Begley has been all over the place with his reporting on injuries these past few months so take anything he says with a grain of salt).
All in all, it sounds like Randle is progressing and rehabbing well and will likely be cleared for contact when the Knicks decide to. I personally think he’s gonna be cleared within the next two weeks.

I’m more worried about OG. How has the elbow not calm down yet.
Just want a lineup of Robinson – Randle – OG – Hart – Deuce out there for the full metal bat experience 😂

oh man randles gotta come back at least so we can see if he needs surgery asap or not

I can’t help but be nervous man. I hope it all works out, even if they barely get time to play together in the regular season. I just want this team healthy in the playoffs.

fuck man, this was gonna be Randle’s third All-NBA season and we definitely would’ve gotten to 50+, possibly 55+ wins with him in the lineup. he’s such an iron man too but last year and this year has had some unfortunate freak injuries (to a point, fuck you Miami)

I think Randle is at a point where rest is going to make him better so they are likely trying to maximize the timing where they can give him as much rest as possible while also getting him some games before the playoffs. One thing that helps is assuming the Knicks are a top 6 seed they will get 5-6 days off for the playoffs-in before the playoffs.
So if the Knicks are able to get Randle 3-5 games in before the playoffs start just to shake off the rust a bit he then will have some time for additional rest.
OG is a concern hopefully a few more days is all he needs. Getting Mitch back would be nice.

I take this as positive news. It could be much worse.
Randle- close to contact
OG just needs his inflammation to go down, it’s nothing worse than that ( I hope)
Mitch is basically back within days

See this is my problem with injuries. You just never know about when or how the player will return. That’s the scary thing and what makes this season upseting since we never got more than a month to see this team.

Elbow, calm the fuck down!

I was really hoping that Randle would come back at the same time as Robinson. I don’t want to stifle the chemistry Hartenstein has had with the offense. Hopefully everyone is ready to go and gel off the bat when it counts!

It’s really hard to be optimistic about our playoff hopes when our team has yet to play a single game together and the season ends in a few weeks.
More clarification on the Randle update:
Per Begley: [Randle’s been doing controlled contact but hasn’t been taking live contact. Randle has been in this stage of rehab for a few weeks. Thibodeau says Randle hasn’t had setback.](https://x.com/ianbegley/status/1772381061483253760?s=46&t=pWrZaJJywF0-_QRc7UIutQ)
