[Woj] “A sportsbook industry source told ESPN that multiple betting accounts attempted to bet large amounts, upwards of $10K and $20K, on Porter unders in January game against Clippers.”

“More reporting, per ESPN’s DavidPurdum: At least one other U.S. sportsbook detected unusual betting interest on Porter props in games in question. A sportsbook industry source told ESPN that multiple betting accounts attempted to bet large amounts, upwards of $10K and $20K, on Porter unders in January game against Clippers.

“Betting limits on NBA player props vary by sportsbook and customer, but are typically around $1,000 to $2,000. “People were trying to do whatever they could to bet Jontay Porter props \[against the Clippers\],” the source said. “And then, just a few days ago, the same thing. We had a bunch of people trying to bet under for more.”

dude prob gonna get released shortly. I doubt raps would back him up even if he is “innocent” to any degree

  3. q1someguy

I mean they need to prove some actual connection to him right?

  4. when suddenly sports gambling went from illegal to in every single pocket in the country – I just had this bad feeling we would see this kind of thing.

There is likely a connection back to Jontay, hopefully more details come out

  6. On the brightside… we got room for Ramsey on 2-way now…

Can someone explain this like I’m five? I don’t really get betting and don’t understand what’s happening. Did he put money on himself to do poorly and that’s what ended up happening?

  8. killuminati604

Him getting framed would be a crazy plot twist

  9. So whoever made the bets didn’t know anything about the platform. Otherwise they wouldnt have so idiotically flagged their system by trying to bet 10k. So it wasn’t a real bettor, otherwise they would have just gone through a bookie

And it wasn’t random because you’d never normally go in for 10k on a damn website. Youd go to a bookie with that kind of money.

I was at least hoping their was a 3rd player. But no. I think it’s literally just this guy thinking he could play the market in the dumbest way possible.

What should scare people is there are so many better ways to do this that there are probably a fair number of players betting on themselves.

That is what happened when gambling is not only legal, it’s highly encouraged now thanks to the ad

  11. sports betting isn’t going away, so players need to adapt.

who wants to join my sports betting consulting agency where we will help professional athletes circumvent the $2000 limit by spreading their 100s of thousands of dollars across hundreds of reddit peasants like us for a commission of 20%.

    100k bet

50 people needed if limit is 2k

    20% of 100k is 20k

    20k/50 = $400 per person

but obviously you don’t get the full $400 cause house always win so the consulting agency will need to take a 10% cut upfront and then 10% or 10k will be split amongst 50 people at $200 per person.

so rich people get almost gauranteed +80% on their money and us plebs get $200 for “free”

who wants to build the app?

  12. Yeah $20k bet on porter no wonder they’re investigating lmao who tf is betting on a jontay porter over under

They force players to be role models and then fully endorse an addictive element to a fun game that young kids look up to. wtf
