@Boston Celtics

The Celtics have blown a 30-point lead. This is their biggest blown lead since the Nets’ 28-point comeback last March that Joe Mazzulla always brings up as a key moment in shaping his offensive philosophy.

Fucking pathetic that this team keeps doing this.

  2. JaylenBrownAllStar

    Scal called it

Up 68-38 and they just slept walk it

  3. Well, as bad as Atlanta has become, they are in the play-n series. And so they’re getting ready for the big time–a good team to test themselves against.

  4. TheMediaRoom1004

The blown leads have been a problem under every coach with this core but the aversion to calling timeouts in obvious spots is a Mazzulla problem

We’ve been struggling against physical defense. That’s been the book on us for a while. Atlanta is getting away with a lot of handsiness, but we need to push through. We can expect that in the playoffs

  6. People will be doomers but these situations are definitely beneficial for close playoff games

  7. DrDrBender

They clearly just get bored after whooping these teams for a few quarters, not the best tendency but really does not mean much in terms of the playoffs.

  8. luke_workin

Green teamers will excuse it somehow, and blame the “doomers” along the way

  9. Rednaxela623

I love when the Celtics don’t run plays on offense and play iso ball as if it’s a pick-up game

  10. Going to be a hell of a film session whenever they have the next one. A lot of the old faults/flaws showed in this one, especially at the end, too.

Hopefully it’s a nice reminder of how you can’t just sleepwalk through a game (regardless of going cold from 3 in the 2nd half) and win.

Man nobody hates the Celtics more than their own fans after a loss. This sub is foaming at the mouth

Mazulla is possibly the worst coach I have ever seen. If you gonna rest players and play stupid lineups and risk losing to give players playing time … then decide your gonna lose. Don’t bring starters back in and make them play 2x as hard to try to win it back. What the actual fuck. And don’t get me started on Tatums whining and bitching and playing half ass defense. Jesus Christ.

  13. One-PercentCow

I still say it’s a coach issue. Need a high caliber coach for a high caliber team.

  14. Jegagne88

Losers. A bunch of losers that can’t put away a bunch of nobodies trying harder than them. You’ll never win if you can’t beat the jv team. I’m so done with this. If we have a 30 point lead it’s basically a guarantee we’re going to stop trying and let the other team come back and win. This is so fucking embarassing

  15. Alarmed-Sorbet-9095

If what the Hawks bigs did to us is any sign of things to come, that’s what scares me the most. Not the going cold from three. Not the dumb Tatum iso ball. Not blowing massive leads. It’s getting out rebounded and bullied in the paint with fouls, second chance points, and momentum swings.

  16. eatinsomepoundcake

I understand that in context this loss doesn’t mean all that much, but it is annoying as fuck to feel as a fan like no lead is safe and lose the same way every. single. time.

  17. thegoatmenace

Its a bad loss but we had won 9 in a row with key wins against good teams like the bucks and pretty good teams like the suns. We cant win every game.

  18. Time. Outs. Use them…not a hard concept. It drives me nuts that he doesn’t call them when he should

  19. BlackElohim

Second row Joe sucks. This team can’t win close games even against the Hawks bench

  20. GooseMay0

I would have been fine if they blew the 30 point lead and lost by 15, well not fine but it would have been whatever. Hawks team missing a lot of players, near the end of the season, shit happens. But the piss poor end game execution in a close game AGAIN, is annoying.

  21. readingonthetoilet

For everyone here bitching about how they’re “sick of all these blown leads”:

The Celtics rank dead last in the NBA in blown leads this year with only 13, and they rank 19th in 10 pt blown leads with 7. Last year they were second to last behind the bucks.

The Celtics have definitely struggled at times with blowing large leads over the last few years. But what everyone seems to conveniently ignore is that every other NBA team has done the same thing more often.

I swear this fanbase is so entitled and expects absolute perfection every game from this team. We are so eager to shit all over them when they lose and say they’re weak and lack grit when they have put together an unbelievable season and consistently gone deep in the postseason every year.

The only thing I’m embarrassed of is this subreddit after losses.

  22. gzapata76

I was at the game tonight and the problem tonight was the bench. The backups of the backups that played too much in the 3rd quarter. That’s when the Hawks got hot. They let them come back and we weren’t making anything, not even layups.

  23. Try-Imaginary

How is a 30-point come back the biggest comeback since a 28 point come back. It seems like it would be the biggest since a previous comeback that was greater than 30 points

  24. 96powerstroker

As soon as you start to play playoff basketball with them and they don’t get a few calls they start to get tight and implode. They forget to just hit the open man, trust him to make the right choice and get some points. At some point getting 2 points has to be better than 5 missed 3s in a row??

Until they Win a title or lose a close game 7 in the finals this team and its key players won’t win a title as bus drivers.

  25. jamdonutsaremyjam

eh, prefer sleep walking and no injuries then pushing it and then injuries

  26. Holiday-Usual-3600

So they have 1 bad loss and then they win 8/10 games or better

Some of yall need to pay for therapy

Tatum or brown don’t need to take your advice they played well without a point guard and having negative spacers in the second half

Tatums lineup with kornet + springer + svi + howitzer might have been one of the worst lineups Tatum ever played with and it’s on the best team he’s ever had

I just checked in 4 minutes their net rating was -156.7 😂

    https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/advanced?slug=advanced&TeamID=1610612738&Month=6&DateFrom=03%2F25%2F2024&DateTo=03%2F26%2F2024

I want to say Tatum had the top of the key bucket and springer had the layup and everything else was a brick

  27. moa-hunter

20-30 point leads aren’t safe anymore. This is the new nba.
