Per Hawks, Trae Young “had his one-month follow-up evaluation yesterday. Young is making progress in his recovery. As the next step of his rehabilitation, he will introduce small finger motion exercises this week.”

I feel like he’s not coming back unless we play a series, cus if Trae has an opportunity to play, he will.

but would be great if he can play in a playin game to get back in some sort of “form” before he gets cooked in a series loll

Yesterday Celtics commentators made fun of him for having to have “A pInKy SuRgEry on his *oFf HaNd*”. Who’s gonna tell them some players can & do use both hands? Anyway, good news, we move!

I still feel like he may be back a week before play in unless he can’t use that finger or risks further injury… he seems too involved on the bench for him to give up on the season.

  6. Finals is out of reach in all honesty. Rather him take the extra time than rush back and risk this impacting next season.

  7. We’re pretty much locked into the 9 or 10 seed anyways.  No need for him to be in a rush.

Pinky finger rehab must be so hard to take seriously. Do they just have him lifting tiny weights and using tiny bands?

I broke the knuckle on my off hand ring finger and was in a protective brace for about 6-8 weeks whilst it healed. Whilst I avoided surgery, it took almost 4 months post injury to get full range of motion. Your finger doesn’t bend at all when it comes out, you have to slow get the ligaments moving to restore their flexibility. It also is super annoying when you knock it at any stage until it’s 100%, not because it’s super painful, but because everything swells up again as a defense mechanism.

My point is – it sounds super funny, but it’s actually a relatively serious injury. The worst case scenario is actually something similar to JC’s finger in terms of range of motion.

Even if we make the playin Trae should rest and not risk injury and let jalen cook
