Win yes I got the stats right here what H what a win what a win after getting pretty much stomped versus Phoenix in the previous game uh before last night’s game the Spurs came out looked like they wanted to set the tone early and that’s what they did and that’s my takeway

First one right off the bat is setting the tone early Spurs outscored the Suns 29 to 22 in the opening frame and really set the tone there would being a lot more physical being more aggressive uh connecting on their shots and that carried over throughout the game look

Phoenix was Phoenix you know they made their run too they had the biggest lead for them was at nine but the super largest lead was at 11 and you look at the that final frame and when Phoenix came back to take the lead late in the fourth the Spurs have that that metal

Just to hang in there and credit Jeremy San more on him later uh for hitting the game when he shot and yeah you’re final score 104 102 so yeah Spurs really set the tone early played with tenacity played with grunt as papovich would say throughout the entire game so kudos to

Them takeaway number two is that they play was some passion they all but admitted that getting stopped by the way they did versus Phoenix in the previous meeting before last night’s game uh I think they lost by 20 plus points at one point it was 30 plus Point deficit for

Them just really getting embarrassed and that they felt was well they took it personal they said yeah they shouldn’t have done that you know and they wanted to come out and prove that they were not that team that got curb stomped by Phoenix heading into last night’s game

And you saw it on that Court uh defense look for today’s standard holding Phoenix the Phoenix Suns was Bradley Beal Kevin Durant dein Booker to 104 points uh I’m sorry 102 points excuse me uh really impressive and the whole that team Phoenix Suns 102 points so pretty

Good on them and yeah you really like that out of them you know they came with that Spirit uh for the entire game and look one of the big the other takeaways I’m bringing about it’s not really the last one but this kind of coincides with takeaway number two is just seven

Turnovers this team has been a turnover machine of late but seven turnovers for the game not too bad they valued the ball kudos to them that’s really have been a big issue for them uh throughout the season but at least versus Phoenix they played and well and they took care

Of the ball minimal turnovers and takeway number three it got to be Jeremy soen look he finished with 26 points 18 uh rebounds in about 35 minutes of play more importantly he played pretty good defense I mean really good defense on Kevin Durant he got praised from Zack

Collins actually Z asked Zack Collins about uh you know the way you know soan just played that defense versus Durant following the game he told me that uh that pretty much Jeremy was good on both ends of the night uh that he was locked in to start the game he forced some

Turnovers uh hit those jumpers and uh yeah yeah just a lot of Praise from him I talk to Sohan himself after the game he said he was just locked in he just knew what he had to do versus Durant so you really got to tip your TAP cap to

Points at one at one time yeah it begs a question well not actually a question Rudy I mean it’s a fact this team is not good I mean they say you are who your record are is guess what they are that they’re that outside of wimy Rudy and

Based on the last two games at least prior to last night’s game versus Phoenix uh is it time just to have a fire cell is it time just to blow it all up minus wimy and restart the rebuild from scratch you know you’re you put a

Uh a perfect bow on everything when you had said that you know your record is what it basically you are way your record is and that’s kind of what the fact of the Spurs we we saw the same guys pre wemi they’re not a good team

Pre Wy when you trade away a dejonte Murray and a Derek white you’re already thinking for the future so um blowing it up Jeff it’s very difficult to blow it up because let’s be honest 80% of these guys that are on the team are probably going to be here next season uh going

Into the off season uh the only guy who I might see that’s a big name for the Spurs is Kellin Johnson maybe moving in the off season uh for a trade but uh you’re going to you’re going to see Sohan you’re probably going to see uh Vel back probably Trey Jones you’re

Gonna see majority of the guys back um but if it’s us I mean if it’s fans and everybody else you’re wanting to make that massive you know trade that you know blow it all up and start fresh but in today’s game and really in any game

It’s kind of tough to just do a complete fire sell uh you’re going to get Pennies on the dollar for a lot of these guys you’re not going to get a whole lot in return so kind of move forward and instead of maybe blowing it up just kind

Of build on what you have because let’s face it you can’t get any lower than where you are right now yeah I mean look it’s bad it’s bad how did Vegas know this team was gonna be how did Rudy know this team was going to be bad still

Baffles me still baffles me but you know there you look if your proponent for just blowing it up you know yeah then there’s a problem there the problem is you’re resetting the rebuild you’re starting from scratch who knows maybe a reset could be good maybe you reset the rebuild with power

Players with dra with draft pick who you’re gonna pick you know if they do tank again next year you know maybe they get another high draft pick or you know parlay some of these picks and players they have and bring in Power Players via trade if we get it big n free agents

Won’t come to San Antonio maybe wimy will change that but as of this recorded historically they don’t so no ways to force them to come to San Antonio be a trade so you know if the Spurs were to flip a lot of this these players and these contracts and these draft picks that’s

Sitting on and some of the cash are sitting on maybe trading away for just an instant team could be good you know how the Spurs would always say you know Spurs fans oh we’re we’re built we’re not bought well maybe it’s time they start buying instead of building Rudy if

You want an instant successful team you’re going to have to buy you know you’re not going to be able to and they can do that they can afford to do that they can afford to do that but so let me let me rephrase the way I wanted to answer this was they can

Afford to they can afford to buy a team but at what cost because if you go and trade for a Trey young you’re probably gonna lose draft picks Kellen or Devin so you add Trey does Trey move the needle to 28 wins wimy 30 wins yeah it’s

Kind of hard to say because if you lose Devin you’re losing your second best player and you know basically so you kind of switching one for the other um it’s like they’ve got to go get you know a veteran this is where I said the the

Best off season is you know you go and get a Trey young you go and sign a Klay Thompson yes he’s at the end of his career but he brings in that shooting that you massively need you may not have to give up a Devin so now you’re looking

At a St lineup of like a Trey Young Klay Thompson Devon Vel and Victor wiim Manama that seems to be more appealing as to okay this rebuild is going forward full head Steam and you don’t lose a whole lot so that that part right there is kind of tough you mentioned not many

Fre agents want to come to San Antonio and if they do they’re in the TA end Tracy McGrady Glenn Robinson you know Big Time Players that came at the tell end of their career Dominique WIS is another one but I mean you got to make a move it’s got to be

Through a trade if not you’re going to get the same team back next year the biggest thing is through the draft you’ve got so many draft picks you’ve got to start hitting on them I mean where the Spurs were were Geniuses on draft night you know from anywhere from

Leandro Barbosa even though he wasn’t in the Spurs uniform you know he he made a difference you know for the Phoenix Suns uh to finding guys like Deon Murray and Tony Parker even mono jobble in the second round so they haven’t hit on these draft picks and with all these picks they’re good

For nothing if you can’t start hitting on them yeah and and that’s the thing really it it’s you know it was just so was such a horrific weekend it really was it was just bad you know and I understand why Spurs fans are upset and you know at the product this is a

Product that was touted as a winner before the start of the Season by who so by who by players by coach pop you know you look at that and that’s why I think this off season is perhaps one of the most critical already for Wy uh you know

Moving forward because let’s face it it’s going to be his show it already is his show and look he talked about it after the game of over the weekend he was over Phoenix after Phoenix game where he said like yeah he would like to be a part of the rebuilding and planning

And and structuring of the team let him get involved in that and we’ve we saw during the kawhai Leonard time remember the report he came out and said that he wanted the Spurs a trade for Paul George yeah didn’t happen yeah if wmy does that again if wmy says something similar and

I’m making this up oh oh yeah trade for Trey young I hope the Spurs will listen and make that happen that if he feels that makes him a good player and that’s where I think the fire sale could come in look we talk about how Kellin is like one of the

Most one of the players you can dangle the most in front of a team to make a deal well what’s wrong with saying that for Vel is he really Untouchable Rudy is he really that Untouchable nobody on the team is Untouchable I mean I I’ve even

Said you know you have to take calls on your best player being wimy and even whoever but I mean you’re not going to make the move but when it comes to Devon vasel he’s not Untouchable I mean the guy is your best asset outside of Victor wh Bama so teams would pay not

Necessarily a huge premium but they’re going to give you a better deal than if you dangle you know Kelvin Johnson or Jeremy soan in there so uh you know the the dangling part about some of these guys is like Trey young I mean he’s going to commend some draft picks in

Return yeah yeah and that’s kind of where you gotta you got to figure is Trey Young worth losing younger prospects especially in a loaded 2025 draft I mean if I can get a lot of draft picks for 2025 in that first round I’m doing it so I don’t know if Trey’s worth

That much I don’t know if one player is worth possibly getting two maybe three difference makers in 2025 you’re actually helping the Hawks fast forward their rebuild by doing something like that if you’re getting rid of 2025 draft picks if it’s this year by all means if

They get their pick and Toronto’s pick I mean the possibility is there to trade both of those picks for a Trey young and then I’m all for that because you’re not losing anything yeah yeah it’s an interesting time you know for the Spurs already at a you know in wy’s rookie

Season because they’re going to have to do right by him you know they’re going to want to build around him he’s putting up monsters numbers you know everybody’s applauding him he’s only and he’s only going to get better and the last thing they need is this team to get better I’m

Sorry for him to get better and the team get worse I mean think about it they got worse record-wise last year than this year they’re a worst team than I mean by record they are and they’re likely going to finish that way but as far as the

Fire sale is concerned yeah I I mean I think I think you have if you’re the Spurs you have no choice but to keep your phone lines open for everything everything uh even if it’s forel maybe not wimy wmy I’m close to just hanging up

But it’s it’s just it’s just a you know I think it’s a time where the Spurs just really need to start thinking about buying teams versus building teams because they build teams Rudy they’re gonna s they’re going to fall further behind the pack you know as other teams

Lap them and lap them you know the Spurs historically has made any Blockbuster moves of late and when was the last time they made a blockbuster move I mean like a trade either in seon Rich Jefferson probably or is that a signning was he a signing can’t remember no he was a trade

It was a trade probably Rich Jefferson was that really the last Blockbuster move they made yeah train wise unless you would have considered Dereck white and Deon Murray getting draft picks in return I mean okay I’m sorry it’s not Richard Jefferson it would be the Kawai

DeMar Rosen deal yeah I mean that was like the last but but that they were forced their hand they they forced their hand we never seen them them be aggressive and be like you know what sure you know let’s put it out there here’s Kellin here’s Sohan bring in you

Know peren all star still in his prime to pair with wimy I mean we haven’t seen that type of level and they really haven’t The Big Three era was dominant Robinson error was somewhat okay you know it was all right Sean laed him and you know Dennis Robin for a spell but

Yeah I think it’s time for this team to make a blockbuster move and that if that means a fire sale they got to consider it do you think fire sale or the concept of itar you know blowing up the team should that be on the table this offseason should that be something they

Should look at I think so it’s a possibility I mean you’re you’re coming into the off season knowing you’ve got all this cap money all this cap room you’ve got all these draft picks you’ve got young players who people you know who gmss are probably interested in I

Mean I know Deon Vel and K Kellin Johnson can make a difference for some of these playoff teams um so I think that you go into the off season with the uh anticipation of making a lot of phone calls you’ve got to get some kind of

Deal made somewhere if not I mean you’re going to see the same team come back next year with a couple of extra draft picks who honestly Jeff I I would be so so happy to see the Spurs get you know draft picks but because of their recent

Draft pick history I’m not as excited for the draft I feel like a lot of it could be screwed up um you know we still haven’t seen anything from you know Wesley or Malachi honestly between those two guys I’ve seen more out of szoku than I have between those two guys so

I’ll push back a little bit on you I think Wesley has been playing a lot better you know Wesley’s coming around I mean I’m not gonna say he’s not but I think with szoku you’re getting that player that makes a bigger difference than a lot and then a lot of these guys

On the team do uh you’ve seen kind of the emergence of Dominic Barlo you know as a big man for the Spurs so it is you go into the offseason with a fire cell but to be honest do you really expect them to do anything because I really

Don’t expect them honestly it’s kind of like Jerry Jones you know we we like the team we have basically oh man I don’t see I don’t see anything happening and if I do it’s so you wait wait are you saying you expect you would have be

Surprised if they run it back no I I really would have because it’s like they’re scared to pull the trigger on stuff unless their hand is forced so do you okay do you really think the San Antonio Spurs front office gives a damn what fans think oh no of

Course exactly so of course they don’t you scream Trey young Trey wants to play with wimi you make the call but Atlanta wants to gut your draft capital i I mean to me that just doesn’t happen you don’t you don’t dra you don’t this isn’t you know herel Walker you don’t give away

You know all of your draft capital for one player who you expect to help you win it doesn’t happen like that no absolutely it doesn’t but you you know again they got to make a move I mean it’s it’s obvious I mean it’s clear now this team is just not well put together

And they got to get better and the one way they can’t instantly get better right now is considering a fire so but you know would they do that I don’t think they will you’re likely to see some players come back likely aell I I would hope they keep Trey Jones even if

He stays off on the bench I think that’ll be a smart move for them I want to give soan another season you know keep him around but outside of those three guys man I don’t know I think that’s about it for me I don’t even think soan I mean

Really he was it’s hard to say because I remember the draft night to uh I think I was doing a live draft show and I remember questioning like why why is soan at that pick I mean and then I I’ve heard people say well you know he’s kind

Of you know Boris sto he can do a little bit of everything but I mean have you even seen remotely anything similar to Boris di I mean you see spts you see glimpses of what could be but I don’t see very much of anything and again another draft pick that was

Missed wow I put sohan’s picture on there for you to you know look him in the eyes he say that I will say Jeremy I do not expect you to be here next season if I mean if you are you are but you’re one guy that I definitely would take

Good you know three games now he’s bad I mean you think it’s just the inconsistency with him uh it’s it’s pretty much the inconsistency you see like I said you see kind of you know glimpses of what can be with Jeremy but the Improvement outside of okay so

Three-point shooting yeah I mean his free throw shooting went up when he started going one Ed so there are improvements but do those improvements equal to wins no not necessarily I mean you’re you kind of got a guy out there that’s just and man this is so disrespectful Jeffy you’re gonna get I’m

Gonna get killed this comment yeah go for but you know when I said I didn’t really trust Jeremy when they were drafting him I didn’t know what we were getting I still know what we were getting it’s it’s almost like when you go to Gold’s Gym or the why and you have

A guy out there that just he’s in there to play he’ll do a couple of things that are good for your team he’ll you know he won’t contribute most of the time he’ll contribute you know couple of plays here a couple of plays there but it’s one of

Those guys you you walk in you’re like where does this guy fit anywhere in this on this court I don’t know you tried him at point guard obviously didn’t work you kind of just let him be and it just doesn’t work so there’s really no image or anything for Jeremy right now and

That’s really the frustrating part when it comes to uh Jeremy soan for F yeah yeah even for me it’s the inconsistency and look he’s a great person really you know when he’s on he’s on when he’s defending he’s he’s at one of the best but you know there’s still some growth

For him it’s just a sophomore season technically he should still be a Baylor right he should be what his junior senior year I believe yeah so you know there’s Papa said it over and over again these guys you’re learning the fundamentals and so you maybe give soan

Another season let him see what he can do um and take it from there oh you’re gonna say something Rudy yeah I was going to say you know one one thing that people always praised him on with his defense and that’s where I think that a

Lot of people uh might miss the fact but I’m actually with them H have you seen any Improvement on his defensive side I mean I’m have you seen it I haven’t honestly I haven’t seen much at all but yeah I mean I don’t know I mean collectively the team is one of the

Worst defensive teams yeah they all of them are bad yeah so for wmy outside of wimy you know but that that’s it you know yeah I think he has the best defensive rating this SE or second best defensive rating behind goar so I mean yeah it’s it’s tough to

Put a uh a pinpoint on what Jeremy’s actually doing with the Spurs right now all right the next qu next comment excuse me is from Van like uh this is about wimy and the DPI he says it’s less of a snub and more of an in intentional

NBA Shenanigans so he thinks that the NBA is intentionally fix Rudy so Rudy goar gets the honor dpoy is an individual honor yet the armchair critics would argue that the team needs to be factored into the argument in other words a team at the top of the league standing or near it should

Produce the defensive player of the year uh and not a bottom feeder despite the fact that wy’s numbers do not lie that’s going to be debated and I think years from now by the way thank you van like for the comment I think years from now Rudy there might be some people that

Look back and say you know what what were they thinking individually wimy is a better defensive player than pretty much the NBA in his rookie season we did this before with Tim Duncan we look back like wait a minute how did he never get the defensive player of the year award yet

He ranked up there you know in a lot of categories defensive categories but what do you take this do you think it’s less of a snub and more NBA Shenanigans as van like says so with the defensive player of the year I I’m kind of in the

Middle I I understand both sides I understand the league I understand R likes comment and other fans is where but I just mentioned it a second ago Rudy goar leads the league in defensive rating wimi is second so if you go by stats technically stat-wise Rudy goar is
