It’s huge it’s huge right at some point they were scared or concerned that he might miss the rest of the season they applied for that uh exemption to deal with it like it’s big nothing can go the the tibs ideal 48 minutes of Rim protection with him and hartenstein the

Offensive rebounding gets so much better right he’s probably best offensive rebounder in the whole league uh I’m really just curious to see what this all looks like now at full capacity if the Knicks can ever get there with OG and with Randall in there all at the same

Time and with Mitch yeah I’m very interesting to see how they work that out I mean for me for for number one because you know hartenstein has done such an incredible job with them this year in Mitchell Robinson’s absence I mean when we look at them even being in

The fourth seed this year he has to get a lot of credit for that because it didn’t seem like they were in protection that really skipped a beat and then offensively I mean he’s been such a a nice pivot there for Jaylen Brunson either in a two-man game or just as an

Extra facilitator out there to make make that offense go hardenstein having an incredible year for the team no he’s been great he’s been great uh you know he’s a free agent this summer yeah Mike Coston Nicks a little bit how good he’s been whether either paying him or

Somebody else decides to pay him but he’s been he’s been amazing he’s been one of their low-key kind of most valuable guys because he’s been able to step in for Robinson and really they haven’t missed any you know they haven’t missed anything for the most part since

He’s been gone yeah H haven’t at all and so you know I I think as well as Tom tipido said this going to be a slow process for Mitch they’re going to ramp him up slowly you have just about I think 13 games or so left before the end

Of the regular season so this will kind of be a uh you know a cardio thing get him back into shape and you know that was one of the keys when he came back from the last foot surgery was when he came into the regular season two years

Ago he wasn’t in the best of shape tips has said that you know he’s maintained his weight which is a good sign I I guess but you know a lot of the experts that you speak to say well could take like up to a month for big man to kind

Of get back into his Groove and for Mitch you know he had been playing so well at uh before he went out and so you know hopefully he can get back up to speed quickly because I it’ll only stand to help this Nick team yeah and I mean

Getting him back into shape like let’s be honest he they don’t they have about what today’s March 27th they have about three weeks to get him back into shape right like you’re talking about game one of the Eastern Conference playoffs that’s the target de I would think not

You know games 78 of the regular season right right right and then you know I always joked I said they’ll have him out there running with the second unit and he can you know get into shape quickly by cleaning up all the Bricks by my guy big money Burks and bogdanovich I mean

They’re in this construction business the B&B construction team on coming off the Nick bench you know he’ll get a lot of opportunities offensive rebound clean them when they’re getting blown all blown by on the perimeter so he he’ll get into shape very very fast playing with those guys in the lineup man that’s

That’s all it is the whole trade was just uh they were thinking ahead they said look we we’re going to need a way to get Robinson to get back into shape real quick let’s pull the trigger let’s let’s pull the trigger uh so so great

News for Mitch can’t wait to see when he gets back and how that looks now that’s the good news to me concerning news Randall and OG let let let’s start there man what what are you thinking in returns in terms of these guys and their injury

Status yeah I mean Rand though I feel like there hasn’t been a lot of movement uh over the last few weeks right and obviously that makes some sense because the nature of the injury and like I think there was a lot of optimism when he first got hurt and there was reports

About um how soon he might be back but I I think that was just kind of optimism you this is a tough injury to come back from in season right like the rehab you need the time of rest you need the ability to play through it like to get

Back in a in a matter of months as we’re seeing is hard to do OG seems a little bit more tricky he already came back he had the surgery he came back I don’t really know uh how to diagnose it either just because like this seems to be a

Combination of things from the injury itself to the pain management to the trouble it’s actually causing him when he’s out there and so I mean it’s the same thing with Mitch they got to get them to the point where at least ojan and Obi might be comfortable uh in

Playing for game one of the Eastern Conference playoffs like forget you know the last three weeks of the Season or whatever is two and a half weeks yeah I I feel like OG if it’s if it’s game one in the playoffs I’m fine with it I he he’s

Already proven when he came back that he doesn’t need that much ramp up time you slide him right in there he’s going to continue to do his job and so they got to do whatever they need to do to make sure that paint subsides because just I

I think even before the Piston game tibs were saying that it they still need to calm it down which is you know yeah kind of interesting but I’m not a medical expert but hopefully he uh he he gets it together but the Randall thing you know

I’ve been saying for almost a month now I think this is let’s see what happens game one of the playoffs you know because for him to still not be cleared for physical contact you only got two weeks left you know how much time a lot

Of people saying he needs to get into a rhythm he needs to get into a rhythm but I just don’t see where they risk him getting reinjured during game 78 against the Bulls when they really need him in game one against you know one of these five teams potentially yeah and just cuz

You’re clear for physical contact doesn’t mean like cleared to play playoff basketball right like you know physical contact and playing in the NBA playoffs are two different things right like I don’t think it’s a one to one comparison um but yeah so he’s he’s still got a number of hurdles to cross

You got to get cleared you got to be able to practice um you know he’s not going to need like three weeks of practice we’ll get back but you got to do all these these Milestones you got to hit um and then the Knicks have to integrate them back into it too right

Like they’ve been playing different Dante D venzo has had a different role it’s been a while since OG play play to kind of peak capacity like this is a team that if they ever do get healthy has never actually played together all at once yeah that that’s where things

Get dicey have you ever um you know while you were on the beater covering the NBA have you ever covered a player who was coming back from a from a dislocation like this no I I don’t think I have I heard some of the old-timers say that like they used to put there

Used to be gu I think there’s like a guy on the magic somebody told me played like a whole season with this but that’s like a crazy you like the stuff was wild back then way way wild that’s probably like the 80s and 90s were a way

Different time uh so yeah I don’t remember anything like this and like I mean just dislocated shoulders it’s just you know there’s a lot that goes on there and like it fact it it impacts more than just like the shoulder and the Hand itself that you’re using uh that

Gets hurt like there’s a you know kind of physical chain that’s involved into all these injuries tricky tricky indeed man and uh as as we take a look at the stand ings you know Nicks kind of gained some ground last night I’m not sure if you saw that Milwaukee Bucks and Lakers

Game last night but you bucks had several 15 20-point leads they ended up uh choking it out there uh Paul double overtime they lose to the Lakers and Anthony Davis what’ you think about that game last night first and foremost I don’t know how they lost it that was an

Awesome game but I don’t know how they lost that game they had a lead weight in overtime too like they should have won that thing that cost them too now they’re only two games up on the Cavs for number two seed like like they’re getting they’re getting in close

Situation the whole top quarter of the Eastern Conference is very tight it it’s it’s tight man and you know the the one thing with the Bucks is well at least what we from what we saw last night you know things change from game to game but

At least last night you know I I saw a similar Trend that I see with Giannis that you see often times in these tough situations and in the playoffs where he either shies away from the ball or they go away from him offensively because he

Just doesn’t have that deep of a bag and also ad was playing good defense now they have Dame to counter that but on the defensive side when you’re going to leave Malik Beasley and D out there they’re sitting ducks man that’s why with Milwaukee I I just I’m just not

Sure about their chances when when you get into the playoff run yeah I mean they’re gonna be hunted relentlessly right like their teams are going to be trying to get Dame uh get Malik Beasley in isolation they’ve been better for sure like since doc took over they had so many troubles defensively

But over the last two weeks uh Milwaukee’s you know 16th and defensive net rating they’re actually up to 14th for the season I think a lot of that has come since doc took over um but they’re gonna have some real questions I don’t know if they’ll be able to survive like

An onslot a guy like Jaylen Brunson just continuously hunting them if Brook Lopez doesn’t provide that interior defense if Giannis yeah doesn’t become a maximum Defender like that there’s a lot of ball handlers and guards that are going to tack the CRA the crap out of them probably with some success yeah

Absolutely and so with with that being said with the Milwaukee loss the Knicks now moved within two and a half games of the bucks for the second seed they still play the Bucks one more time the fifth time this year in Milwaukee to close out

The season or part part of the close out uh closing weeks they’re half game back of the Cavs who are sitting in third they have a game up on the magic and three games up on the Pacers what do you think here man but in terms of uh where this Nick team could

Finish and they played one fewer game than the then uh the Bucks and the Cavaliers as well so um I mean they could definitely get the three seed right they’re only half game back at Cleveland right now Cleveland’s kind of going through it themselves I think Donan Mitchell I think Shams reported

Donan Mitchell’s supposed to come back Friday but like uh it seems like he’s going through a number of injuries there as the season’s going on I wouldn’t be surprised if the Knicks finish as high as third I still think maybe getting a number two is going to be tough they’re

Two and a half games back you got like you know 10 11 games left in the season they’re good teams but I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish as high as third but then again I wouldn’t be surprised if they if they finish fifth either like the magic are good they’re a

Game back and that’s kind of the crapshoot of the season right now they kind of in that three to five tier right there and how they go and how much they want to play hard like really chase a top seed the rest of the season is going

To matter I mean you know a tips team is gonna they’re play they’re playing a win but you don’t know if the front office at some point make some business decisions about injuries and kind of wrestling guys and make making them as whole as they can be for the playoffs

But I there’s a big difference between being in that four five seed right when you’re in the Boston bracket for the second round and being that three seed where you’re facing Milwaukee in the second round potentially yeah Orlando’s playing good ball man they’ve been like

You know one of the hottest teams in the league I think people kind of forgot about them because they’ve still kind of been hovering between four and five in the East but they won like 11 of 15 they’re playing some good balll poow continuing to ascend in his second year

Their defense has stat all year number three in the league still um so so they’re very interesting and you know with Cleveland with the Knicks only being a half game back of Cleveland I was taking a look at this while I was on uh bleach report earlier I think where

Things could change in terms of um standings here which is very interesting and a and an interesting time Cleveland still has to go out west to finish the season I mean they’ve got to finish out the year they’ve got a go to Denver on Easter at Utah at Phoenix and then do

The LA twostep before coming home against Memphis Indiana Charlotte they still got to go out west yeah that’s rough I think that’s where the Knicks catch them for third yeah and you know like the other thing is as you’re looking through first round matchups too like I would much rather play the Pacers

In the first round as a 36 matchup than I would play the you know Cavs or especially the Magic in the first round like the magic to me match up really well with the Knicks in the first round because they’re one of the few teams that can m match the physicality right

They can match the size because that’s a that’s a big big team especially in the front Court yeah um so like if if the Knicks can get to three I’d much rather play Indie especially if the Cavaliers schedule the rest of the way is that tough and you could see them sliding

Into that four five with Orlando how how would you rank these five um you have Miami Pacers Orlando 76ers Cleveland how would you rank those five from best matchup to worst for the Knicks I mean I think the Sixers are the best matchup that’s if no embiid right okay um

They uh you know if embiid is back I think Pacers are the next one up at least my opinion bead’s had his troubles and like I don’t know how quickly he can get back into full strength Cleveland Orlando and my man I don’t know I don’t know I don’t know

What to make the heat I don’t know what you think but like I don’t know like you know they’re just like doing whatever coing the whole regular season and then April I’m just like frighten I wouldn’t want them right they’re they’re on the same Pace as they were last year seven

Seed damn near the same record at this stage in the game right like it’s off by like one win or one loss I think I was I was on Twitter I saw that yeah you know you have Jimmy who he’s practically just said to hell with the regular season you

Know I’m I’m making my coffee I’m hanging out with Fallout Boy I’m just doing whatever I’ll turn it up when it’s time so you just don’t know what to make in this team I mean yesterday they had a big game against the Warriors and he’s like um you know load management I’m

Chilling so oh one thing I can say is that why I put them as to me the toughest or could be the toughest for the Knicks it’s a coaching factor I I I I just think SPO clears everybody damn near in the East and when it’s time to lock in on your

Weaknesses I just I just trust him to do it you know whether it’s you know the Myriad of defensive coverages that they can provide you know how that impacts the Knicks and and guys who don’t have experience in the playoffs the non Brunson guys I think spoke can make it

Very tough for the Knicks man yeah I think probably I’d have to rank them like toughest the easiest I’d go Miami Orlando Cleveland let’s throw Philly in and fourth in it’s case they get in beat back just a hedge a little bit and throw Indie last in that spot yeah just

Because if a teams can’t play defense like I think the Knicks will just eat him apart yeah um but yeah I mean to everything you said about Miami like I’m not a big fan I wasn’t a big fan of the Tero your trade when it happened I don’t

Think it’s aged well either but you know if SPO pulls off his magic where he just flips all the right buttons in the playoffs and they’re they’re able to integrate him where he can be a secondary playmaker and ball handler for them uh that’s a guy that Miami didn’t

Have last year and they made all the way to the finals right they were able to make that work somehow um to me like the the worst matchups for the Knicks are the teams that can match their size and their physicality because that’s so much their strength and what they do so much

More and so much better than their other than the other teams they face so if you have a team that can match that um that’s that to me is a tough matchup for New York yeah I agree wholeheartedly and one thing that I I think both the the

Matches can the heat do well which I wonder how the Knicks can exploit is their ability to take away uh your looks at the rim and nicks haven’t are have never been a a good team shooting at the rim and getting high efficiency points that way they just never been that and

So you know teams like in Miami and in Orlando they’re going to crowd the paint up on Brunson they’re going to show him so many different looks will they will the Knicks be able to make these teams pay now from three with the additions of Divan chenzo if OG’s out there and

Healthy and shooting the ball well and Josh Hart because you know Josh Hart as much as he’s been Mr Everything Mr Iron Man for this team when this team locks in when when the playoffs locks in in the half Court he’s still going to have

To shoot that ball I think that is going to is going to be what swings things in terms of his impact for this next team in the playoffs yeah and the magic have Jaylen sugs who’s just a great point of attack Defender and I’m not saying he’s

Gonna stop Jaylen Brunson but if he gives him makes him play little more inefficiently right yeah stops him from getting all the way to the paint that gets the defens is bending and moving that creates open shots that clogs up the offense a little bit for the Knicks

Right like I think a great point of attack Defender can create it’s just that that like little bit of marginal trouble that they create it’s not like hey he’s going to shut him down and make him shoot five of 21 every game it’s just slowing things down just a little
