With with Cage’s play in this game and for those of you guys watching on YouTube you may be wondering who what what what’s up with Darth coup why why is Darth coup out um K Cunningham came back you you were wondering if he was even going to play again this year you

Should be happy um Darth cou Darth coup is out one because he’s probably gonna be out for the rest of the year until this season ends Darth coup will probably be be here every single episode I’m not gonna lie to you um the SEC and second thing you guys like Darth C so

You know Darth cou you know being around being liked is something that that that I I enjoy so that’s second and then third the biggest reason obviously is that despite how will Kade played does everything around him just continues to go to hell and and it’s just it’s it’s

Tough to watch man it’s it’s truly tough to watch so Kade came back tonight um after missing a few games due to that left knee injury Management in just not even 29 minutes of play 28 minutes and 41 seconds he had 32 Points 11 of 23 shooting three of eight from Deep seven

Of eight from the free throw line he was a minus six in this game the Detroit Pistons lost by 15 when he checked out of the game in the third quarter with about three minutes left it was a two-point game the Pistons had a lead in that third quarter against the

Minnesota Temple was one of the best teams in the entire NBA when K checked out it was a two-point game in the next three minutes the Pistons found themselves down 12 he came back into the game they were down 15 I just don’t like it’s just I have to

Believe that it’s it’s seriously like for people watching at home it feels crushing and for Kate I have to believe it like I can’t imagine like how it feels to constantly come out of a game and then come back in and it’s just it’s basically over like the Kade kept the

Pistons in this game against the Minnesota tle one of the best teams in the NBA without anybody on his team really without anybody he kept them around just for it to go to hell in the three minutes he sat down just for it to

Go to hell just for it to go to hell in the first four minutes of the four quarter when he came back in the game was already over he didn’t have a chance to try to keep this thing close for the rest of the game and he only played 29

Minutes so it’s like there’s only so much he can do something I want to talk about with Kate as well is that you know I think we have enough of a sample size to know this or to to reasonably say this um obvious when he’s healthy he has

Proven to be an absolute star this year when he is healthy and fresh and and feeling good he is he has proven this year he has taken multiple steps in multiple areas of his game still can get a lot lot a lot better his finishing ever since February has kind of fallen

Off a cliff he’s missing a lot of bunnies if he was finishing better around the rim with some of these easier finishes his efficiency would be off the charts be averaging way more so he can still get a lot better but even with that when he’s healthy we have seen him

This year being a legit star when he not healthy when he’s dealing with that knee management when he’s popping up on the injury report due to his knee we have enough sample size I think to know that he’s just not at his best at that time so I

Think when he’s when like I said when he’s healthy you can expect him to play well but I think this might be something that just keep your eye on now this is his first year coming back from that major surgery and that’s big time I’ve talked to some people that that that’s he’s

100% as as close to 100% as you possibly would be after that so this off season is going to be his best time to really get back into like Peak NBA condition the surgery he had last year last uh last season and then just immediately jumping right back into the NBA action

This year it the hope is that after another off season he really gets back in that Peak condition to where this isn’t as big this isn’t something he has to manage um throughout a season um so I I think that will be the case hopefully

But even even with that if it’s not if it’s something they have to manage if the Pistons just and I I know this is a big if I guess it might be a little bit of a big if even though I don’t think it is going to get to this he’s young I

Think that the fact that this again this is one off season into or one offseason after that major surgery I think next year he’ll be fine but if the Pistons just manage his knee his his knee his leg injuries if they just manage man that correctly I I

Hal one of our friends Hal who’s been on the podcast numerous times he’ll be on when draft process comes around tweeted this I thought this was absolutely on point if the Pistons can just manage his leg injuries correctly they have a superstar in their hands you have to

Manage him correctly if it is if it does become an issue I’m not convinced it’s going to be I’m not convinced yet I think this is just like I said the season coming off that surgery give it another year I think he’ll be in Peak condition because I think at numerous

Times this year you could see he was not at Peak condition yet he was what I’ve been told is that he’s at the best he possibly could be coming off that type of surgery that’s what I’ve been told so after another offseason I think he’ll be better I I I think that’s the

Expectation among everyone around him and everyone in the organization that another off season he’ll be straight um but again just if if they just manage the the the injuries correctly he’ll be they have a superstar in their hands they just got to do that um but anyways yeah he played really

Well in this game played exceptional for this team in just 29 minutes of action he had that stat line in this game what I really liked about it if you want me to be honest I love the fact that he went into straight score mode because I

I do think there’s sometimes where Cade and you know it’s it’s funny because we’ve criticized him sometimes for uh holding on to the wall a little too long when he gets trapped and trying to do something himself instead of letting his teammates attack a four and three so

It’s a Balancing Act you got it’s just something that he’s going to learn and grow with as a young player you got to be able to balance both things and know when to do what but I like the fact that he was in straight score mode in this

Game because he was hyper aware that there’s no one else on this Flo that’s gonna be able to do anything he doesn’t there’s no one else on my roster right now is going to be able to do anything against this team and I don’t care if I

Got one of the best defenders in the league guarding me and Jay McDaniels I don’t care if that’s if I got one of the best defenses in the league checking me I’m going to go out there I’m going to my s I’m not he only had one assist or two

Assists I’m not going to go out there and rely on others I’m not going to go out there and act like I have what I don’t which is a a good Supporting Cast if we’re gonna stay around in this game I gotta go out there I gotta be

Assertive I gotta take 20 plus shots in just 29 minutes of action for us to even have a chance I’m willing to do it I I I love that about his game as well so thought Kate played extremely well in this game man I think if he wasn’t and

Obviously it’s part of managing it uh him missing the last few games and um all of that why he only play 29 minutes so I’m not sitting here saying he should have played more uh I’m just saying that you know if he was if he was able to

Play more minutes I feel like the Pistons could have had this game close in the fourth quarter if his teammates were you know if they had any type of roster around him to where they just didn’t completely crash to Hell anytime he went to the bench maybe this could

Have been a close game in the fourth because it was a close game through three quarters and Kade was keeping them in so yeah I I have to believe that Kade goes home like if I was Kade I I I’d go home after games sit back you know kick

My feet up get a drink and just sit back and laugh look look at maybe I you know I might just even you know if I was I for sure would just go home kick my feet up get a drink turn my own highlights on the screen

Like I’d wait for House of highlights to tweet my or to put the video out of my highlights from that game I turn my highlights on sit back watch the highlights and just laugh as I watch myself do everything I possibly can with the roster I have out there just laugh

About it I I like I that’s what I would do I’d sit back and literally watch my own highlights after games and just laugh with a drink in my hand as I get drunken and and cry my sorrows away at the end of the night the fact that I

In this game and even the obviously the roster that was being played for the the Detroit Pistons Wade was out and I I do want to say this I know I said in the last episode or two episodes ago the one before the fan episode that we were no longer going to be

Talking about the Pistons season because I said if the Pistons want to decide to end their season early we’ll end the season early as well we we’ll act accordingly well Kade came back in this game durren came back in this game and played so we’re going to talk about it

If those guys are going to play we’ll talk about it if just going to sit everybody and they’re going to be playing g- League guys like we’ll act accordingly so I I’m keeping my word with that just wanted to you know give a little context with that

But what what’s this roster that that’s being put on the floor well I truly like I don’t take anything from like I don’t think any fans should take anything from obviously the minutes of Jared Rhoden the minutes of Buddy beheim um the minutes of Malachi Flynn who actually

Was like probably the second best player for K tonight um at least the second leading score for sure um don’t read in anything from Troy Brown Jr the only thing if I was Pistons fans to take any substance of of of anything from are is the play of maybe James wisman Jaylen

Duran obviously um mate 2 Sasser and tosan those are the only five guys that I would try to look at and take any type of substance from at all when watching these games and we’ll go down each player how I feel about them and why I feel that way so obviously James

Wisman I I think he is someone you have to watch because I really would not like them to do this I’d like them to try and make win now moves this offseason but there is a chance that they bring him back as the back of five next year and he has

Improved a little bit from the start of the season so you want to see if he continues to develop and continues to get better for if they do decide to do that you you need to see that progression to feel comfortable doing so I if he doesn’t play well then obviously

That’s a signal to not bringing him back as the backup five I don’t think they should do it anyways and that’s not even a shot at James wisman that’s simply a shot at this rebuild and knowing that they need some win now pieces they need some guys that can impact winning right

Now because of how this has went but that doesn’t change the fact that James Wiis I think is going to have a chance at coming back next year year if he continues to play well and show Improvement I think he has some fans in the front office and they obviously don’t

Want they don’t want their trade to blow up in their face so if they can save it any way possible I think they’re going to try to do that so um that’s why I’d watch for James wisman also like I said I think he has got a better gotten

Better a little bit since the beginning of the year either way even though I think he might lead the league in in legal screens called um the next player is toan because I think tosan is an interesting two-way guy I don’t think he’s played incredibly well but he

Flashes some things that are interesting for a two-way guy um I don’t think he’s I don’t think he’s proven to be an NBA guy legit NBA player I just think he’s proven to be a interesting two-way dude um he he he he popped off a little bit

In the summer league off the screen I know he played well in the g- league and I know he also had another 10day contract somewhere else um but he’s a two-way guy actually think that was a good good addition a good signing because he does show some versatility on

The basketball floor I just don’t think he hits enough shots really to make it make himself enough of a NBA player but he does showcase some things so if he does hit shots at the end of the year and like you know he plays well that way

That’s a I I feel like that would be a fine two-way sign that the Pistons had um or 10day contract I don’t know actually I’m not sure if they converted his contract to two-way or not um I think they did but I’m not 100% sure so

Don’t quote me on that um then we’ll move on to who I think like metu he’s an interesting player because he has the perfect body type for a highlevel wing he has the type of athleticism for a highle wing and he does like some interesting things on the floor he’s

Just another guy that just doesn’t make enough shots like he gets to the rim and he’ll miss layups he missed a reverse dunk tonight um he just doesn’t hit enough shots I I think to make him last in the NBA but he does interesting things like

Even in this game he had eight points didn’t shoot very well at all because again he just doesn’t make shots but seven rebounds two assists two steals a block like I think he’s fine defensively he knows how like he’s strong he’s athletic I he had a few rotations on defense I really like

Seeing offensively he get the ball sticks a little bit and he has the ability I think a few times to get to the rim he’s just an interesting player because he has the body type to be an NBA player and flashes the ability to be

Like an NBA player but again with him it just comes down to hitting shots so honestly when Cage’s on the floor and everyone’s like actually tuned in watching like I actually watch for metw to see what he does because I do think he has flashed some things he has some

Tools it just comes out as he GNA hit shots and so far he hasn’t been able to but some of the other stuff I do think has flashed a little bit with him Jaylen Duran’s obvious K Cam’s obvious the other play I want to spend most of the

Time talking about here is Marcus Sasser I’m sorry everybody I’m going to go ahead and and make my stance clear here I’m not GNA beat around the bush I’m just GNA give my opinion it is what it is I’m not a big fan of Marcus

Sasser I I if you guys remember going if you guys listened all the way back in summer league even in summer league I came on the podcast and said I don’t know if Marcus fard is going to be the type of player as a favorite of mine and

I I I I you know I’d said it in a nice way that you know he can do this stuff he can you know he looks like you’ll be able to score and shoot like I know why fans are going to like him but I don’t

Know if he’s going to be my type of player I saw some of this in in summer league immedately I could see it and now about to be the end of his rookie year I’m just not too big of a fan on of his I think he has obviously NBA Talent he

Creates separation extremely well his shot creation is crazy um the space he creates is absolutely insane that’s all legit and overall his shooting is I think is legit even though he’s been really cold as of late I think overall his shooting is legit I don’t think it’s

As great as it was at the beginning of the year but it’s not as bad as it was over the last few games how how coldies went um since coming back I believe either yeah coming back from All-Star break and and brief injury where he’s shooting 28% from from Deep over the

Last 13 games I don’t think he’s that bad of a shooter but I also don’t think he’s that great of a shooter that he was to start the year and that’s where the lies because outside of that Sasser does not do much else for you on the floor

He’s not he’s he’s under sized he’s a small guard he’s undersized I don’t know I don’t know what they have him listed at but it’s probably two inches of Lies like at least two inches of Lies he doesn’t do much else on the floor besides if he if

He’s hot then he can keep you in a game because he’s a he’s a he can get real hot real fast but if he’s not and he’s not going crazy with the ball in his hands he’s not gonna create for others he’s not going to make the right passes

He’s not a quick processor I would say of making the right reads he’s looking to score nonstop I don’t think he’s been as good of a Defender as people thought he was going to be this year now I know some people may put that on Monty in the

Position he was put in but even today I don’t think he was that good defensively next to Cade which is something I was watching to see and then also I think he just makes poor decisions as well like he here’s two plays right here that jump

Off the page and you guys know these are the type of players I just really don’t like if you’re not if if these are not players I’m fans though if you’re not going to be a good processor and make the right reads and play the right way

It’s the quickest way to fall out of C’s favor there was two plays ton night that jumped off the screen to me that had me pulling my hair out first play K cyam runs a pick and roll with James wisman on the left wing James wisman rolls they

Switch goar on the Cade and then they switch Anthony Edwards onto James wisan Kate picks up the ball notices the or before he picks up the ball he actually tells wisman to post up you got the mismatch wisman post up goar closes out hard on Cade Kade tells sass who’s on the right

Wing he tells Sasser he points at wisan to throw him the ball because the angle would be a better pass from sasser’s place than Cades with goar all over him so he swings the ball to Sasser and then after passes the ball to Sasser points again at Wiseman said give the ball to

Wiseman he has the mismatch and instead of doing that Sasser backs up isos tween tween tween behind the back hases he tween almost Falls over then step backs into a Josh Smith long two and misses that’s the first play that that right there is just I know Kate had have been

Thinking in the back of his like bro come on like we had the mismatch we had to read this right we have to play the right way and that just was a bad read by Sasser that’s first the next one happened in the fourth quarter the

Pistons run a pick and roll again with Kade and uh Jaylen durren on the left wing and I’m going to start stealing this this this terminology from LeBron and JJ in the left quadrant um they run that pick and roll Duren Dives they switch goar gets out on Kade

Kage’s already picked up his dribble because he he was going to give it to Duren but then he NOS the switch so he immediately swings it over to Sasser on the left side immediately swings it over to Sasser who’s in between like the wing in the corner behind the three-point

Line immediately swings it up over to him calls for the ball back because he has the mismatch with goar on him he’s actively calling for the ball back and instead of giving Kate the ball back Sasser waves him off between hesy hesy tween step back three clink

Like those more so than the fact that he shot two of 11 from the floor more for the fact more of the fact than he that that he hasn’t been shooting the ball well those type of plays happened all year with Sasser whereas he he doesn’t

Make the right play often he’s he is in the game quite literally to score the basketball he is in there to shoot the ball score the basketball if you’re asking him to do anything else he just isn’t able to do it and the fact that he that’s the way he’s playing as an

Undersized guard with what this team needed at the wing position it’s why ever since the draft I’ve never understood why the Pistons traded up to take an undersized guard with this type of mentality instead of addressing what was a clear clear need for them at the

Wing as we’re watching J GG Jackson go crazy for Memphis like that kind of I’ll never understand that so i’ had to get that out there Sasser is falling out of favor with me I really don’t like I I if you’re a scorer you’re a scorer but the decision- making and processing is

Remaining I believe so he’d have to play five more five of the nine games left I think he wants to do that coming off injury he hears the noise Kate hears the noise about oh he’s not healthy he has injury prone issues uh he’s always hurt blah blah like he knows

That he hears that stuff and not only does he hear that stuff the new NBA rule of needing to play 65 games to be available for awards now I’m not saying you’re saying Kate’s about to be available for an award but I think 65 games taking out the fact of that he had

Surgery and he wants to prove to everybody that he’s he’s healthy and that he can play a lot of games and he’s not injury problem take all that and it being a goal of his to get the 65 games like take all that away with the awards capping out at 65

Games play like you had to at least play 65 games I think that’s going to be a goal for almost every player in the NBA now I I think every player wants going to want to at least get to 65 so they can at least be eligible and even if

They’re not going to win an award they can say hey I I think like in 10 years from now a talking point you you’ll start to hear is well this guy was eligible for awards every single year of his career like I know back in like the

2000s like if you look back in Michael’s Michael Jordan’s uh career like oh he he played 82 games every single year that’s one of the things that people argue for with Michael and obviously there’s other players that you do the same with Michael was just the first one that came

Off my head I think in 10 years it’s not going to be the 82 games it’s going to be 65 games played in however many consecutive seasons is what’s going to be the new talking point the new brag the new credit um is that oh this player

Was able to get be eligible for all Awards eight straight years or this guy was able to be eligable every year of his career like I think that’s going to beig be the big thing I think every NBA player is going to aim for that so I

Think kad’s wanting to aim for that as well without all the other stuff so I do think he’s going to want to get to 65 games if he doesn’t get to 65 five games I’m going to assume don’t take this as pure fact I I wouldn’t say pure fact but I’m going to

Take a guess if Kate doesn’t get the 65 games is not of his own control if he doesn’t get the 65 games is because the Pistons shows for him to get shut down not get the 65 games I think if it’s in Cage’s control he’ll hit the 65 games

Which is why I believe he’ll get there I think it’s important to him I think he understands how important it is I think that’s a goal of his and he wants to get there so I do think he’ll get to 65 games there only five more games I think
