Draymond Green is DIMINISHING Steph’s legacy & leadership! – JWill reacts to ejection | First Take
Another rejection for Draymond Green yeah uh can the Warriors depend on him no they can’t I mean he he’s unstable I mean I I think that’s that’s honest to say that’s being transparent and you know legs one of my the issues I have with this is
That and I listen to his podcast all the time there’s no doubt that Draymond is super talented I get what he is on the floor even though I think that’s starting to gear towards diminishing returns on where he is athletically at the stage of career but he’s a walk in
Contradiction so on one end when I listen to your podcast and you’re the protector of your team you’re the epitome of the teammate you’re looking out you’re running to the defense of your teammate there’s a heightened sense of awareness that I get from him all the
Time when I listen to his PO which makes me just lean into how special he is but then when I see him on the court and there’s that alter alternate personality that comes out where I’m like wait you’re everything that you’re telling the world that you you’re not now all of
A sudden like now you’re not defending your teammates because you’re putting them in situations where this team is holding on for a 10 spot trying to fight for a position in the playing tournament and you can’t gather your emotions so for me it’s when I hear Steph Curry say
Things like we need him he knows that yes he does know that it it it’s several months ago that he missed 16 games and how big of a deal that was so when you put your hand on a referee and that gives you your first tech and Steph is
Standing there next to you look at I wish we can pull that up can we pull that up just pull up the video of Steph Curry yeah the initial reaction standing next to Draymond it’s all going down cuz the initial reaction for any player is pull stuff away like pull him away get
Draymond away from the situation look at Steph Curry’s face watch this look at his face you tell me that it’s not the face of somebody who is absolutely exhausted who is mentally checked out on Draymond Green it’s like a relationship where that that girlfriend who or that boyfriend you have does something crazy
When they do something like they go out here it goes again how many times have we you keep giving them Grace you keep giving them Grace hey I’m going to stand by you I’m going to stand by you but finally it’s like your your actions keep showing me you’re not capable of
Changing yes and it feels like that that that line that is this is the epitome of the line that somebody’s checked out it is what it is you’re checked out whenever that line happens yeah like you are checked out of the situation I can’t control it anymore how many sit down
Talks do we need to do do I need to publicly ridicule him what do I need to do I’m exhausted of all options that’s what it feels like Steph Curry is or Draymond Green remorse right is only greatly appreciated right when there’s change behind it right absolutely and
That’s where we’re at now it’s the iron is your question I love the question can they count on him and my my answer typically and played with a lot of different personality types in the course of my career was I I wanted guys with consistent demeanor those are the
Guys you can count on right the irony with that is the reason they can’t count on him is because of the consistency of his demeanor because he will not adapt he will not adjust there is no other word Molly for what you saw last night than selfishness there is no other word
Because he put his desire in living in this vacuum of his own emotions that was all that matter my ability and desire to rant at this official right now for as long as I want to means means more than anything means more than stephh Curry means more than the organization it
Means more than us desperately trying to hold on to this playin spot and play meaningful basketball beyond the regular season none of that is as important as me expressing my emotions right now over this call two calls that I think were bogus that is the epitome of selfishness
In a team sport at some point that has to be put to the side and look at the bigger picture the problem is he’s incapable of doing it he does not have the emotional break that we most of us have in the moment when you start to
Lose control and you realize what is at stake in the moment and I’m not even talking about necessarily just sporting events it’s daily life there are times you want to lose your cool and you realize like what are the repercussions if I do that and you’re able to reain it
Back in he cannot do it know that he can’t do it or he’s just not choosing to there are certain times right when you start to get heated and you say to yourself okay I got to pause I don’t want to be reactionary I don’t want to I
Don’t want to act out of emotion but there’s times when you’re like I just don’t give a damn well listen was I ever guilty as a teammate in my life of doing something in a moment that was about my emotions where it hurt my team yeah probably at some point can’t think off
The top of my head probably everybody Los their cool the difference is this though I guarantee you right now I would have lost sleep over the fact that those guys were not they were not able to count on me and I’m Jay and I were talking about this look Molly there’s a
Lot of things and entities you’re accountable to as a player that you think about you’re accountable to to you know your teammates you’re accountable to the organization fans your right all that stuff yeah nothing matters more than the guys that are wearing the same uniform as you in that
Locker room and the fact that you’re not there when they’re hanging by a rope and you got a team on your heels that now has won 10 straight games trying to run you down into the home strats where you might have a player like Steph Curry sitting at home when the playoffs start
And you had something to do with that because you weren’t available on a night when they desperately needed you to guard Orlando’s best player Pablo van is their best player that’s the major that’s the main uh matchup right there you already don’t have kaminga you’re short-handed as it is and you allow your
Emotions to get away to that extent four minutes into a game that you leave them out there by themselves that Draymond Green is brilliant at processing information we see him do it every possession on the court literally oh okay Big’s going to flare oh slip okay
I’m going to make a good decision back door cut he’s making reads all the time but yet internally it feels like he can’t make reads on himself in those situations the second thing 30 deserves so much better yeah at this stage of his career at 36 years old for the numbers
He’s putting up to drag this team in that position he deserves better and one of the things that’s happening about it is it I’m getting texts from people that I really value their decision right high level people and what these texts are reading is well how about the leadership
Of Stephen Curry that’s where these conversations are going and in my brain right processing information Molly wa what do you mean how about the leadership Ste calling step out yes right for him not controlling Draymond so in my in my brain the way I process is that it’s because I know Steph I
Spent time around Steph we were talking about this during get up we wish we could have a camcorder in Steph’s car right like all the things that Steph would be saying to his wife and how he’s frustrated about because he’s one of the most competitive dudes you’ll ever meet
No doubt Draymond Green is diminishing the ultimate Legacy of how people are looking at the leadership of Stephen Curry That’s What’s happen only thing I will say Jay I think that’s in a a group of people I don’t think that’s like the universal mentality right is to think about Steph and where
Are you in this Steph at all I do think there are people that are always going to be Devil’s Advocate they’re contrarians they’re going to raise this kind of question about somebody to me that’s an UL what does this have to do with Steph though like what should Steph
Be doing here what are what are these critics saying these people are saying that Steph should not well look I disagree with him let me state that for rec right because I know him I know how things have been addressed yeah internally multiple times but what happens is perception is reality for a
Lot of people a lot of people aren’t familiar with things that are happening behind closed doors so there’s a tendency when you hear them talk about it people just keep tiptoeing around it instead of calling Draymond Green out publicly now I get that right I understand that that’s not the case
Because we know what’s going on legs but that’s what’s happening even if it is a smaller niche of people like these are high level people now that are starting to look at it that way and by the way like that to me is on Draymond that’s on
Draymond because I think Steph is taking the higher Ro and how to deal play the Steph sound again can we play that really that’s the way Steph deals with it I want to just hear they’re going to get it together for us because I want to hear it one
More time and and react to it one thing I want to say that bothers me about all this and it happens every time like where in draymond’s mind because he comes off this way as if he’s some sort of a victim in these in these episodes right that he’s somehow like targeted
That’s the way his reaction is to it this dude just got suspended indefinitely by the league for a physical altercation on the court that was supposed to elicit all kinds of change right this I know this isn’t a fight with a player it’s not the same
Thing this isn’t Rudy goar in a head headlock I understand it’s totally different but it absolutely is connected with your inability to control yourself in the moment to an extent that is going to hurt your team on a given night how can you not put that first at all times
That’s what I don’t get play the sound one more time it’s Steve ker first and then Steph Curry too bad it was unfortunate um he deserved it um and um you know he’ll he’ll bounce back I’m just proud of the guys um for um stepping up all I say is
We need we need him he knows that we all know that um so whatever it takes to keep him on the floor um he’ll be available that’s what’s got to happen what did that body language how tired is what did that just say to you like do you feel like that’s someone
That’s not being a leader needs to do and say more no no no I I don’t buy into that at all because because of the way this guy’s approach has been his entire career right and what he does every single night right so if anything man you’re owed something by 23 yeah you’re
Owed something Steph that’s about as strong as you’ll get out of him but again here’s what bothers me even in that little sound bite Steph said we need him and you know why that bothers me because we always talk about these episodes and we preface it by all the
Things that Draymond has done and all the important things and they wouldn’t have four rings without him and and and he’s this he’s defensive player here and all the ways we okay I’m not saying that stuff anymore I refuse to preface it because those two things are mutually
Exclusive you that doesn’t mean well if if Draymond had more control of his emotions maybe we wouldn’t have four rings no there’s lots of dudes that have rings that control their emotions so I’m not doing it anymore and even it’s just a little bit that’s what Steph just did
Because you can’t help yourself we got to have him we need him he’s super important we got to do whatever it takes to be goes without saying man don’t don’t say that stuff anymore just go to the other part that can’t Happen

Why is everyone coming down on Draymond so hard.. let’s talk about the refs! Why was he giving the tech? Because the refs can’t handle what was said? It was clear Draymond was trying to talk and get some clarity. Yall just want this grown man to shut and say yes sir every time? If you make a call and it’s wrong imma let you hear about it.
They've protected the guy for too long. He should have been gone from the team. Not Poole. Although it looks like they're better off without either.
Man Steph face 😢 says it all brah it’s heart breaking. But i feel dray really want to be that protective leader and he just don’t have it.
Even Michael Jordan held Dennis Rodman back from getting ejected! Where is Steph doing the same for Draymond?
Draymond been backdooring Steph since 2016 he works for Lebalco
When I seen Steph bent over (Pause) Then get up and rub his eyes and put his face in his jersey shows he is tired of Draymond. He definintely got split personality when he gets on the court
tim legler is right draymond is 100% selfish
Enoughhhhhh of Molly interrupting
How old is Draymond? Grow up boy.
Steph knows that he’s emotionally done with Draymond for this day forward. Last night he seems to be mourning his care for trying to save Draymond.
Ship him off to Detroit
What’s the point of having a player that you won’t be on the floor when you selfishly only about you you you! Lying hypocrites. He is a THUG! It’s GS fault keeping him!
I think Stephs emotion comes from the fact that he knows in that particular scheme on this team nobody can do what Draymond does. What he does allows Steph to operate at optimal levels. Without it he doesnt stand a chance to win.
Draymond just needs to chill, hes the heartbeat of this team. Sad that this keeps happening but Ill still support him getting in line.
Honestly this is all Steph’s fault. As the leader you must have your house in order
Now see had the league suspended 20- 30 games things could be better but they did indefinite and went easy on him.
Watching Steph cry in front of arena that’s sold out tells your everything you need to know he is tired physically and emotionally has checked out sad to see for such a great player
You can tell Steph is getting FED TF UP wit Dray antics. The Warriors Dynasty as we know it is OVER!! I doubt if Dray or Klay be back nxt szn. Steph is in the twilight of his career and wants to win at least another chip(5) before retiring so there’s no doubt who’s the PG GOAT !! But him not saying nothing and being too quiet questions the respect.
I'm just curious but why didn't Steph try to discourage Dray from that scenario, trying to bring him away from the ref, and stop complaining
Draymond been on all b.s. forever.. he doesn't love his team as much as they love him.. hes selfish and A user.. its clear.
Draymond Green is not in a Warriors jersey next season.
Let's face it there is no leaders or voice of reason in the NBA . Some guys just want to play ball . Now I'm not blaming Steph but we all can sense when a leader is present and others will back down out of respect of team goals etc etc. I have seen too much basketball to know when a team have a leader and let's be honest unless your part of heat culture where issues are hashed within the team we can't honestly look at the NBA and see there is a bigger issue not with Draymond but with the league at large when you put the elders out of the game in favor of kids who doesn't want to lead they just want to play. I think that sums it up . Or I could just say jokingly that Steph don't want to get Jordan pooled so we know Steph not built like that both can be true ijs😂
Curry doesn't want to get punch in the face by Draymond
Y'all already know how I feel about BiPolar Dude/Green and how The Splash Bros. (and their Head Coach) have let BiPD just run amok and terrorize everyone: just ask LeKing about gettin' kicked in-da-nutz during a particular playoff series; or nearly getting his eye gouged out – wasn't that in the same playoff series? SMH
If the race issue is such a big deal it shouldnt be appropriate fron either side and knowing that if that ref Called Draymond a P.A.N they would ruin that refs life and Ban him for life so the NBA the ball is in your court show the Ref some of that SOLIDARITY AND BAN DRAYMOND FOR LIFE!!!
If only his IQ was good as his bball IQ
Dennis Rodman would have this clown eating out of the palm of his hand.
I wonder if after 4 rings and realizing they might not get to 5 if draymond has switched foucus to trying to cath rasheed wallace instead
He probably doesn't take marijuana. It would drastically help him. I was kind of like that once in my life. But marijuana helped that aggressive attitude. Just saying. Also he doesn't even have to smoke it. Just a couple of small drops of thc will fix any anger
Lol Draymond is 34 and some people act like he's 16. Just put him on the bench and not renew his contract. This team is on the decline.
Steph need to man up and say get this goofy tf outa here respectfully 😂
Draymong isn't going anywhere without Curry's consent, and I don't think Curry will give it.
Draymond fck around and be betting against himself too ending his career and all this is just a distraction 😂
Draymond trying to form they cool after the game
If I'm Steph I'm telling dude to stop the nonsense or he's off the team. I ain't doing no arguing or yelling.
It's not a big deal. He didn't feel like playing and got himself ejected. Come on yall it's Orlando seriously lol
How many more chances does he get?
Steph stood there just like he stood there when Draymond got into it with Poole. Same as when Draymond got into it with KD.
If ESPN can condemn KD's leadership for a Kyrie tweet they can surely question Steph for Draymond's actions.
