The Denver Nuggets are doing exactly what we hoped they would

All right folks welcome in to pickaxe and roll brought to you by our good friends over at Superbook Sports I’m your host Ryan Blackburn at NBA Blackburn on Twitter part of the Mile High Sports podcast Network and I am excited to talk about last night’s Denver Nuggets win

As the Nuggets defeat the Memphis Grizzlies final score 128 to 103 really great stuff really great stuff from Denver really exciting win if you’re a nuggets fan and you’re you’re hoping that Denver takes care of business on this upcoming five-game home stand they’ve got just 10 games left in

The season they’ve got a chance to do something special for their franchise history which is also exciting uh but I’m I’m thinking about a lot of different topics here think about a lot of different things that the nuggets have sort of gone about and sort of accomplished over the course of this

Time and I just really like Denver’s approach in this last game and that was very exciting to see uh if you can it would be awesome if you could rate review And subscribe to the podcast would be awesome it’s it’s also just great to just see regulars in here Dr

Van Nostrand in here as always really appreciate it uh snow wolf is here uh naen Marcus is here A New Face Blue Owl flooring is here and Rob Sheldon also here just really really excited to continue to develop a little bit of a community here uh folks that are excited

To to see me go live if you’d like to see if it’s 10: a.m if it’s 11: am if it’s noon on these kind of off days let me know what day is most or what time exactly is most accessible for people because I I’m looking forward in my like

Just just over the course of these next few few weeks here like Denver’s just basically on day off day on day off day pretty much every single time so I’m gonna podcast on all the off days that’s just how I’m going to approach this

Thing or I’m G to do my best and so let me know what time works for you guys if you’d prefer me to go later I could I could try to do that too but I tend to think that the morning is is best for for just about

Everybody all right let’s get to it let’s talk about this last win let’s talk about the Denver Nuggets just really approaching things well um starting with Nicole yic we we’re gonna focus on the veterans in the first segment the young guys in the second segment and something in the third

Segment I’m gonna share a stat that I think a lot of people are going to be surprised by about how Denver is taking care of business 128 to 103 Denver got off to a really great start in the first quarter last night they won it 39 to 24 Nicole

Yic basically played the entire first quarter and had 17 points or actually it was 16 for whatever reason there was a weird scoreboard glitch a weird scorekeeping glitch where they took away a couple free throws not sure how that happened but like it it wasn’t anything

Like on the court that happened it was just something in the score uh but he has I think it was 16 points that ended up being in the first quarter and really set the tone for Denver really did a nice job against the jiren Jackson Jr STI Alama front Court immediately got

Jiren Jackson into foul trouble immediately showcased his dominance there was nothing that jiren Jackson Jr the defensive player of the year last year could possibly have done any any possible way he nothing he could have done to give yoka any sort of problems and I’m curious to see what Memphis does

Going forward because obviously they were injured last night like I don’t know if you guys noticed this but they had 12 players on the injury report heading into the game not everybody sat obviously I think most not most but like at least a couple of those guys played

But guys like John Morant and Marcus smarts and they traded for or they traded Stephen Adams away but he was out uh they’ve got a lot of guys that are out so obviously not necessarily a super indicative matchup of what jiren Jackson would do but I’m curious to see what

They’re gonna do with their starting lineup because you know John Morant Marcus smartt Desmond Bane jiren Jackson are going to be out there I wonder if they add a different Center that would be my that would be my big curiosity for the Grizzlies but jic immediately goes to

Work he goes right into the paint takes advantage of the undersized jiren Jackson gets him into foul trouble immediately and then he’s got a guy named gemson uh who I actually I don’t know who this is uh watched him last night Trey gemson played 22 minutes off

The bench was basically their only big man outside of Jackson and and maybe Santi Alama I guess counts like he he played a lot he rotated in but it was just so clear that the Grizzlies were overmatched and it was was actually interesting watching jiren Jackson Jr

Kind of go back at joic and DeAndre Jordan and basically everybody on the Nugget side of things Jackson had he was four of 18 from the field one of seven from three and just had zero touch at all like two steals four blocks was great but just a completely

Overmatched first option and I I would just be very very surprised like he he’ll be better obviously when somebody like John Morant is back and healthy and helping him out a little bit but it was just so clear that he’s completely outsized for his role right now and has been for the entire

Year but uh like it wasn’t just Joker lots of other guys were contributing throughout that Michael Porter I thought had a really nice start in the first half I think he had all 11 of his points in the first half and did a pretty good job of like they were hunting threes for

Him in the second quarter especially they were doing a great job job in general Denver was of creating great shots every single possession I don’t think I questioned really any shot attempt from last night and that’s even without Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon who both sat

Out kcp does a great job stepping up Michael Porter fills his normal role maybe even a slightly lesser role we’ll talk about Christian Brown and uh pton Watson and Julian STW in the the next segment but Reggie Jackson obviously deserves some credit too I thought he played pretty well not necessarily

Perfectly like had a couple layups roll off the rim but 15 points eight assists two turnovers uh four of nine from the field two of three from three five of five from the line in 24 minutes I thought that was a very productive line for Reggie Jackson obviously didn’t have

The craziest matchup he was matched up with Scotti Pippen Jr who’s just very undersized very clearly could not do much of anything with Reggie Jackson which if you can’t do much of anything with Reggie Jackson then that’s how you know you’re outsized and outsourced if you are the Grizzlies

Um but it was just so clear that Denver was in control they got whatever they wanted to get Michael Porter shot three of four from three on the game didn’t really play that much he only played 22 minutes and honestly wasn’t great in the third quarter and I I’m sure he had his

Mind elsewhere uh but lots of guys played really well kcp underrated game really started well defensively for Denver and then hit a three later uh just a nice performance from him as well uh Justin holiday underrated production Off the Bench for sure 11 points four of

Six from the field three of four from three uh did a nice job and then just playing his role tied for the team lead in plus minus with Payton Watson those guys basically shared the floor the entire time so excited to see things sort to come together for Denver where

The plan works and like obviously if Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon are out there plan probably still works there’s no question about that but it was interesting to see the way that Denver went about this where Nicole yic really took on a lot of the burden of of what

Was supposed to happen and he splits that burden a little bit up with some of the other starters out there but also just takes on a a nice little leading role for what the nuggets are hoping for and uh he’s just like I’m I’m seeing a

Lot of MVP stuff in the chat including from Cedric my guy uh joic is MVP leader he’ll lead us to another ship yeah I’m um I’m thinking that’s probably where this is heading like I was just looking at odds and like I didn’t want to do a

Whole bunch of betting stuff but looking at some odds especially with the jonte porter news that came out yesterday but looking at some betting stuff like Joker’s a minus 1,000 a minus 1100 other books for the MVP Award with 10 games to go and it would take a lot it would take

A lot to prevent him from actually getting that and I would be very shocked if he didn’t get it at this point if he continues to have performances like this where nobody can really bother him goes up against the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and just makes him look

Pretty childish like he he muscled jiren Jackson out of the way on several occasions just SP spinning off of him going through him shooting over him shooting around him moving off ball drawing foul trouble like it was just a clinic of how you deal with a guy like

That and it’s just very clear to me that he’s in a great great place on the night Joker finished with 29 Points 11 rebounds eight assists had three Steals and a block I feel like you could have had more steals based off of the way he

Played his hands were so good 11 of 18 from the field one of two from three six of seven from the line just a very very efficient performance from him and he continues to show exactly what he can do four turnovers and I feel like the only

Reason he had four was because he tried some heinous he really did he was doing everything that he could to collect turnovers at various points because he was just trying stuff and like there was one time where he he tried to throw the ball the length of

The floor to Michael Porter despite the fact that there were three guys like back there and he just tried it like just because because he can um there was like plenty of times where he’s just like trying to have some fun doing different things and it was very very

Clear to me that this was a game where he felt like he could do that this was a matchup that he felt like he he had a full understanding of knew what it was expected of him did everything that he could there were times where Memphis cut

The lead to 15 points but for the most part Denver was up by about 20 to 30 points throughout the entire game like it took them a little bit in the first quarter but once they got that lead up it basically stayed there for the

Majority of the game it was just a great performance from everybody involved and Joker obviously he gets the lion Sheriff that with how much of a burden he takes on but it wasn’t just him lots of other guys lots of other story lines to really talk about we’re g to talk about pton

Watson Julian Str and Christian Brown in the second segment should be fun very excited about it we will be right back but first everybody this podcast as you know it’s brought to you by our good friends over at Superbook Sports the most trusted name in sports gambling

Are listening in to the uh the Super Book Sports read because I I wouldn’t want anybody to uh would wouldn’t want anybody to get the wrong idea all right let’s get back to it let’s talk about the young guys let’s talk about what they’re bringing to the

Table right now I want to start with Julian Str um it’s great to see it great to see what Julian was able to bring to the table last night it’s been a while since he’s been in the rotation like actual rotation minutes he’s had had games where he’s played 20 plus but I

Think the only one that he did was second night of a back toback Denver was getting blown out like it was very clear that Julian was just like he was gonna play um and so he plays 22 minutes last night and I thought he looked a little bit shaky initially just like getting

Into it physically but I was clearly wrong and clearly Julian brought some stuff to the table that was that was very exciting for everybody involved 14 points five of 11 from the field two of seven from three two of two from the line couple rebounds and an assist was a

Plus 12 in his minutes which you’re not usually seeing from a young guy like this where he’s trying stuff he’s trying to get back to the swing of things but his role for the Nuggets is going to be taking shots it’s going to be absorbing usage that’s how he’s going to be

Impactful more so than somebody like a Christian Brown or pton Watson because those guys they have a little bit more of an allaround game and can affect it in different ways Julian we’re still waiting on that like we’re still waiting on the defensive production and the rebounding and the playmaking and things

Like that but what he can do is get off a shot and it is very clear in my opinion that like there is going to be some there’s going to be some learning curve there uh Rob says it here can’t wait for it to see him developed next

Season he has legit microwave abilities absolutely zero conscious and no limit to his range it was cool to see it was cool to see him pick that up and play without fear and that’s one thing that you can really say about like Julian specifically is that he’s never going to

Play with fear he’s never gonna play tentatively that’s just not how he’s wired and that’s not how he was successful at Gonzaga so why would he play like that at the NBA level if it got him to the NBA so he’s gonna have to figure out when his shots are but so

Much of Julian becoming a better player is going to be about him being willing and confident at those spots now I will say this the microwave scorer type it is probably the first Arch type of player that gets cut from a playoff rotation because he’s going to have to find ways

To impact the game even when the shot isn’t falling because for a microwave scorer it’s very often that they will go two of nine three of 10 four of 12 something like that and so if that’s the case you got to find ways to impact it

In in a positive way or else other guys are going to have to pick up the slack so I want to see him continue to develop some other trait a little bit more whether it’s a rebounding or playmaking or hey he’s drawing charges defensively or he’s picking Pockets or something

Like that like I would like to see him do one other thing at least before really talking about him as a as a playoff rotation guy and so question here from Dr vrand any chance we see any STW minutes in the playoffs I would be distinctly shocked I would be shocked

And it’s not his fault like he got hurt he’s still young this is and like I you follow up in in a good way here it is exactly like the Patt run exactly like it now ster played more than pwat at the beginning of the year and clearly has a little bit

More stability to his game but what I will say is Denver’s just got another enough Wing options here between Christian Brown pton Watson Justin holiday Off the Bench and that’s not even including the starters they’ve just got enough guys that they can go to that you feel okay about the different

Combinations that they’re going to go to you feel okay with it and like I have very little doubt that Christian Brown and Justin holiday specifically are gonna be the go-to guys on the wing for Denver and pton Watson’s gonna find time as well like he’ll probably play more forward than Wing

But you just have to to defend you have to be smart and I’m a little bit hesitant to just put STW out there put him in the fire because it’s just not fair to him like he hasn’t had that time so we’ll see like but hey we’ll see

Whether whether he can do it in a blowout that would be that would be good I I would love to see him continue to get more reps especially over these last 10 games because that will help him tremendously but now we got to talk about Christian Brown who was

Sorry just laughing at this comment I want him to hit a game-winning shot in the commentator to stay that was the shot that was the strawther that broke let’s say it’s the sun’s back because they’re playing Denver next that would be so funny that’ be so good can you

Imagine like a game-winning shot from Julian St in the playoffs that is the brightest timeline that would be so funny oh my gosh um yeah we’ll we’ll see where it goes let’s let’s talk about Christian though really good minutes from Christian over the course of these last couple there

Are weaknesses in his game and Truth teller in the comments brings up a lack of corner three-point shot of course truth teller you’re sort of discounting the fact that he shooting like 45% on above the breakthroughs so I think that’s okay they’ll they’ll be fine with that it’s just about hey just

Spot up above the break like that’ll be okay um Chris Christian’s playing great Christian is playing really really well right now started this game played 36 minutes in the last game uh Christian only played 22 minutes last night but at 17 points five rebounds two assists was

Only a plus five but that was more because of like just the way that the game went not necessarily his fault or anything like that but he shot eight of 10 from the field one of two from three was very aggressive in transition and cutting and doing the things that he’s

Supposed to do and in a lineup like Denver played last night their starting group where you’ve got Reggie Jackson kyp and Michael Porter all out there Christian Brown doesn’t have to shoot threes like he can roam the Baseline he can be in the cutter or he can be in the

Dunker he does not necessarily have to be on the perimeter the entire time and Denver took advantage of that where when you play Michael Porter at the four as opposed to Aaron Gordon it’s just a little different now if Aaron Gordon’s out there then Christian’s going to have

To make some threes and that’s going to get the spacing a little bit more tight so I wonder if this is a nice little preview of what a playoff lineup could look like where Christian Brown Reggie Jackson they come in Off the Bench and you’ve got kcp Nicole yic and Michael

Porter all out there Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon stagger with the second unit this could be a very clear first rotation for Denver I don’t know if that’s what’s going to happen the entire time it might need to be a little bit more a little bit different than that

Just to figure out what to do with pton in those situations but it would just not surprise me if we saw this lineup a little bit more consistently like this is going to happen so the way the Christian approached it I thought was great hang out at the dunker do the

Things that are cutting screening moving playmaking find ways to be impactful especially in transition and he was he was very very good really liked what I saw from Christian Brown and the way that he’s shooting it’s not just like it is not just spot UPS anymore

With him he is taking more shots he created a first half jumper that was a first quarter jumper that was really nice he’s gotten the floater he’s gotten some like Euro steps in there he is being a lot more creative around the rim and inside the ark and that’s a very

Very exciting piece of development for Christian Brown something that we’ve been calling for the entire year right like it is not just about spot up shooting and I think a lot of people think about that when they’re thinking like okay you gotta space you gotta you gotta do those things is not

Just about that it’s about what happens when when the opponent actually gets to closing out on you you have to be able to impact the game still like it can’t just be kind of half-hearted dribble into the paint see if there’s anything there and then kick it out you have to

Do more and what Christian has done over the course of these past few games really ever since the allstar break has been really exciting like if he could get to a floater if he could get to a Euro Step if he could get to a pullup

Two like things like that that is going to extend his career and it’s gonna make him viable as a starter not just as a bench player so that the brightest timeline for Denver is he expands his game enough that he can do some of those things and shoot it with confidence and

Space the floor in other unique ways and pton Watson like pton Watson is such an interesting player for Denver very very interesting comes off the bench 22 minutes four of nine from the field 10 points nine rebounds looks like they took away one of his offensive rebounds

Two assists one steal three blocks was plus 22 in his 22 minutes tied for the team highend plus minus on the night and just played a great brand of basketball like was very very effective very very impactful throughout and I was very impressed with the way that he comported

Himself because pregame I asked Michael Malone like outside of this is actually not true you do not have to get all the way to the corner on the pick and rolls you can be on the opposite Wing you can be roaming the Baseline if you’re Aaron Gordon like

There are ways that they could build this up truth teller like Christian Brown does not just have to be in the corner all the time like there’s no there’s no reason for that like sometimes he’s gonna have to be there and he’ll have to make some shots like

That’s G to be so if it’s forcing him to be there then sure I’m concerned like I’m really not okay Payton Watson I asked Michael Malone pregame like of the things in the five-game homeand like outside of just winning and staying healthy like what he would want

For this like he said that there are two categories that really leapt out to him post All-Star break outside like they’re 14 and two they they’re now they’re playing great but there are two categories that really leftt out it was the defensive rebounding and it was the paint

Defense and so what do pton do how does he respond three blocks seven defensive rebounds nine on the game and that’s for a guy that has been really struggling that’s been really struggling as a rebounder I’ve highlighted this on this podcast before that if there is one guy outside of

Maybe Zeke Nagi that I think is going to be like that deserves some criticism for the way that the rebounding is gone with the bench it is pton Watson and he stepped up he he was big last night he played really well and some of those were uncontested he’s still going to

Have to figure out like how he’s going to do when somebody’s just on his back fighting for a ball he’s gonna have to be able to hold up in those situations even if the player that’s behind him is bigger than him he’s gonna have to figure it out that’s just the way that

The cookie crumbles with the position that he’s being asked to play but he played really well and it’s just nice to see it is nice to see him respond in that regard because Denver just needs guys who are willing and able to fill the role that they’re being asked to

Fill with the way that the starters are so good you don’t have to do anything too crazy you don’t have to do anything wild all you have to do is Step Up do the things you’re being asked to do and rebounding is one of them for him

Like he’s just got to do it and I talked to him last night and I want to share this quote from him just about where he thinks he’s improved the most because he talked about rebounding he talked about boxing out he talked about how he needs to be a little bit more

Vigilant on that regard and like I credit to him like that’s you got to understand that that’s what he’s going to be like that’s how he’s gonna have to do it I asked him what he thinks he’s improved most this year just in a year where he’s been developing as much as he

Has he says quote I’d say just my mental approach and my routine and then just continuing to keep my same work ethic and motor that I’ve had my entire life my thing is if it’s taken me this far and it’s gotten me here Why Stop Now I

Just want to continue to be the first one in the gym and continue to put the work in and just show this franchise my loyalty to the game and how much I care about not only the team and myself and winning Christian Brown is like that too

Christian Brown is just he’s got the great mental approach he’s committed to what’s going down what’s what’s happening pton Watson is very committed to improving what he needs to improve in order to be the best that he can be and he’s not just going to stop at defensive rebounding or anything like

That he’s going to improve as a ball handler when the team asks him to do that he’s going to improve as a finisher around the rim had a couple botch layups last night he’s going to improve in that category as well he’s going to improve as a more disciplined Defender he had a

Four shot foul basically where posing guy makes a three I think it was Desmond Bane and bton Watson crushed him like crushed him and fouled him and he still has some things that he needs to improve at I just believe that it’s going to happen like there are certain guys that

You are willing willing to bet on that it’s going to happen pyton Watson’s a guy that I’m willing to bet on will do the things that are being asked of him in order to get the job done and between him and Christian and now Julian staler Denver’s future on the wing is

Bright they’re gonna have plenty of opportunities they’re gonna figure a lot of stuff out and with as good as the starting lineup is it’s just so awesome that Denver has this next line of players that they can believe in and like the playoffs are going to be they’re goingon to tell all they’re

Gonna like tighten it up and Pyon Watson’s gonna have to be more precise he’s gonna have to figure some stuff out Michael Malone knows this it’s why Michael M kind of subtly called him out a little bit not necessarily by name but saying hey don’t know who’s gonna play

In the playoffs I think it’s going to be Reggie and Christian don’t know who else beyond that despite the fact that pton Watson might play the most of anybody so I’m curious I’m curious to see how he approaches this going forward but it does feel like it does feel like he’s on that

Track and like there’s plenty of opportunities and Runway over this final 10 games for him to just hone some things in it’s going to be very cool to see all right let’s take a break when we come back we are going to chat about one the stats that I have that

Denver’s have been a little bit better in a in a variety of categories I think a lot of people expected I think a lot of people thought that they’d be dropping off but not in this category we’ll be right back but first Scott the Huff hey what’s up it’s the Huff I love

To have fun so tune in to my podcast to Huff uncensored I give on filter takes on Denver Sports crazy news from around the world plus you never know which one of my characters is going to swing by well I hope one of them’s your mother oh

Show let’s wrap up with this I am very impressed with the way that Denver has comported themselves this year in this one category they had one letup and I guess a couple earlier on in the year but ever since this one let up they’ve been so good at taking care of business against

Teams that are under 500 the Houston Rockets just went on a nine-game winning streak and they are now 36 and 35 at this point they’re now above 500 and for that reason Denver is now like the games against the Houston Rockets don’t count as below 500 teams Houston was the team that Denver

Struggled with early on of the year they lost three games early and then they lost to the Utah jazs on the road like in a important situation where they they probably should have been more prepared for that but they weren’t they didn’t care about that game outside of those games Denver’s not

Lost a single game against a team to a below 500 like team at all and now with Houston moving above 500 Denver’s official record versus teams that are below 500 is 24- one 24- one against teams below 500 for so long and now it’s kind of changed into a slightly different

Thing for so long the nuggets have been a team that sort of struggles with the details that struggles with taking team seriously that struggles with actually getting the job done in those situations and we saw it last night from two teams the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix

Suns the Boston Celtics lost to the Atlanta Hawks going on the road to Atlanta probably partied they clinch the one seed and they clinch basically the entire Eastern Conference so they probably don’t care as much and that’s not as big of a deal but they lost to a

Team after going up by like 24 25 points and it was pretty crazy pretty crazy to see the Suns just lost to the Spurs without Victor wanyama and they’re now 0 and3 on the season the suns are against the San Antonio Spurs and that just shows a lack of

Seriousness a lack of like ability to lock in and I remember this from Denver the year that they were like in in 201920 the year be during the bubble leading up until that point Denver had some of these bad horrendous losses against teams like the Golden State Warriors to finish with the second

Overall pick in the draft that year teams like um I like the Cleveland Cavaliers I think they lost to that year there were plenty of opportunities for Denver to drop games that year and they did throughout Denver’s history there have been plenty of times where they’ve dropped

Games against teams that they had no business dropping them to now the score is just close but they’re not actually dropping the games Denver’s 24 and one in those situations and it’s just really really impressive to see the way that Denver has approached this season has been

Really really impressive and I want to make sure to give them credit like I criticize I try to keep things into perspective I try to not let like I have some subjectivity on this I have some bias on this I try to be objective in my criticisms with this

Denver’s taking care of business in a way that I did not expect I thought that they would be better against the plus 500 teams I thought they’d be better in those games where oh you’ve got a matchup oh well we’re gonna really look to make a statement against you and then they go

On and lose to Detroit or a team like that because that’s what they’ve done for their entire like time that joic and Murray have really been around for Denver it’s just it’s been but that hasn’t been the case this year and I’ve been pretty impressed with the way that they’ve handled themselves the

Way that they’ve comported themselves hasn’t been perfect don’t want to sit here and say that it has been like I’m allowed to be critical obviously when they give up a 20 like they have a 40o lead against the Utah Jazz and then it drops down to 15 like in the blank of an

Eye like obviously that deserves a little bit of criticism but they’ve taken care of business beyond that and the way that they’ve handled themselves in those moments has been really really impressive and they deserve a ton of credit for putting themsel into positions to succeed and it’s why they’re the one

Seed if we’re being the hon if we’re being honest it is why they are the one seed right now because they’ve been able to take care of business a little bit better than even the OKC Thunder OKC is now 22 and5 against below 500 teams I’ve remembered some games that

They had against Detroit and against San Antonio where you drop games that are kind of inexplicable but oneoff matchups that you’re not really worried about but comes back to bite you now OKC’s done a better job against the teams that are 500 and above and they may still get the

One seed they are still like OKC if they win out they’re the one seed the fact that they’re currently in the two seed right now but Minnesota for example is 20 and five the Pelicans who are now in fourth place by the way they have passed the LA

Clippers or are tied in the Lost column tied with the record and they have a tiebreaker Pelicans are 20 and S Clippers are 22 and four they’ve actually done a pretty good job there but they’re just 22 and 23 against 500 and above thems they are not as good at the top

Levels but to me it’s just very very impressive the way that they have handled this I’ve been very very like critical at various points but if Denver is going to approach it this way it shows a level of maturity it shows a level of respect for the opponent Nicole yic I’m sure is

Very helpful with that but even in the games that he’s missed like Denver’s done a really good job of stepping up in those moments and like against Portland against the Clippers early on in the season they’ve had a couple of other wins without not a couple I think

They’ve had one other win without yic if I’m not mistaken but I I can’t remember it off the top of my head but Denver’s approached this really really well and I wanted to give them credit as often as I am critical of them I would like to

Offer some praise they have done a very very nice job truth teller is still uh still uh going went off in the comments on pick and roll spacing and and Corner shooting bro just enjoy the time enjoy the day it’s GNA be okay all right I think that’s going to do it I

Think that’s actually going to do it for this episode of pick ax and roll let me know what you think let me know if there’s a if you have any questions on their consistency and what they’ve actually done like there are some things that i’ I’d like for them to

Improve in terms of the margin of Victory and things like that that but it’s okay should be should be just fine uh big Namek appreciate you stopping by I am feeling better not perfect but feeling much better and I’m sure my voice sounds a little bit better too uh

Always love to hang out with the crowd thank you to the regulars for popping in Dr vand is here Rob Sheldon is here JK wallrus is here just always nice to see the regular crew every every thank you so much for tuning into the show please hit that like button that subscribe

Button on the way out would greatly appreciate it I will talk to you guys on Thursday

Ryan Blackburn reacts to the Denver Nuggets dominant 128-103 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Nikola Jokic was in control, the young guys like Christian Braun and Peyton Watson stepped up. It was an impressive performance without Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Ryan reacts to the win, credits the unsung heroes, and credits the team for doing what he’s asked them to do for a long time.

  1. Important fact. Nuggets are 24-8 since Jan 12th. Everyone us talking about the post all star game streak but they've been killing it now for 2.5 months and playing at a 62 win pace. Looking at their remaining schedule I think 58 wins should be expected and 59 isn't at all out of the question. Not sure how many people understand how amazing that is. Before the season I argued hard that no team in the west would even win 55 game given how tough the west (and the league) is. That the Nuggets are going to pull this off with Murray missing so many games is pretty astonishing.
