On the surface you want him with the ball, but he has to initiate a play. It’s fine if he takes ISOs sometimes, you have to, but not literally every damn play

“JT, can you get us a good play?”

“We have good plays at home”

Good plays at home: heavily contested ISOs

  3. Close the game. Stop being a stubborn ass. If not keep blowing games for hero ball crap.

I actually like that play call. But I would have liked to have seen it run for JB rather than JT. That’s not because I think JT is unclutch. It’s more that JB has elite burst that allows him to decisively take advantage of slow footed defenders such as Bogi. Tatum can beat defenders off the bounce, but it takes counters and methodical footwork, and he didn’t have enough time to create

Holiday was wide open but Tatum still decided to go for the same dumb shot he takes in that situation.

Let’s keep doing the same thing over and over that never works and expect a different result.

    – Wait, isn’t that the definition of insanity? Get a clue Joe.. and u too JT

You can give him the ball AFTER you run a play to create a mismatch for him. Don’t just hand it to him with 20 and let him air it out.

Tbf I do think we were trying to take time off the clock because we knew they had a foul to give so we’d get the shot clock reset and get the final look. But they didn’t give the foul until 6 seconds left and at that point theres not much more you can do if they shut down your out of bounds plays

How about drawing up a play for JT so he doesn’t have to create from nothing at the end of games? He can still finish and take the shot, but free him up or give him a mismatch, something!

The ISO thing is insane. Then JT throwing up a heavily contested off balance three is even crazier. Why not going to the hole and try to draw a foul? Or drive and pull up for a mid range jumper?

  11. Ngl this is kind of an infuriating answer. He didn’t make a play. He dribbled for 20 seconds and everyone else stood still. It also wasn’t a good look. It was a heavily contested off balance shot

  12. JT should never be allowed to take the final shot ever again. A story I’ve seen a million times!
