D is kinda absurd but you gotta admit trading for Kyrie is a risky move when you already have another ball dominant guard who has questions defensively. Bc my goat is like a president he can handle some difficult personalities well but it could have not been the case. Hell, people wanted him gone till like 10 games before the all star break.

ESPN has clear agendas and posts outlandish grades to get people talking about them. The Kyrie situation is epitomizes why we need to get sides of the story before rushing to judgment.

I mean. At the time there was no guarantee he would resign. He had also forced his way out of the last 3 teams he played for. So it was quite a gamble at the time. I probably would have gave it a “C+”.
Everyone knows dude is a hooper. Question has always been if hes healthy or doing a spirit walk or some shit.

I believe the Washington and Gafford trade was also a D. I’ll take That every year if we can get it.

It was a cheap no brainer deal we gave up 2 more or less average (I liked both but let’s be real) nba players and a pick for a top 7 guard in his prime. The media noise in NY was just that……noise lol.

Love the D.

Raptors fan here, ESPN trade grades are awful. The trade where we sent OG Anunoby for Quickley and Barrett? Yeah, that somehow got a C. The trade where we sent Siakam for essentially 3 picks? That got an A-

D for domination
Didn’t we also get a D for PJ and Gafford?

[Even worst in February ESPN regraded the trade a year later and still gave it a D!](https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/39464998/2024-nba-trade-deadline-regrading-last-year-deals)
