Houston Rockets Get To 10 Straight!
What’s going on everyone it took overtime but the Houston Rockets officially got to 10 straight wins this one was a huge one on the road against Oklahoma City Thunder uh the Thunder are trying to keep Pace they’re trying to uh fight for the number one seed in the
Western Conference so this was a very important very valuable game for them uh they are currently half a game out of the one seed against the Denver Nuggets uh they are currently sitting at the three seed behind the Timberwolves and the Nuggets but they the exact same record now as the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Houston Rockets on the other side of things are a game back of the Golden State Warriors uh they’re on a 10 game win streak unfortunately for Houston The Warriors have won two straight games uh and the Warriors should have probably lost uh the the previous game against
The Orlando Magic on the road Draymond ended up getting ejected like three minutes into the game or something crazy like that so uh kind of a tough break for Houston but man is Houston just on another level right now um you know you you have this team that’s clearly
Rallying together you see them growing you see them building you see a young team with a ton of promise this team is going to be tough for years to come right I still you at times have questions about the the contracts of Fred Van vet and Dylan Brooks I I know
People have said you know Houston had to spend the money but these weren’t like one plus one deals these were long-term three to four year deals for these guys the Jeff Green one I actually really liked I thought that was solid to me it’s like could you have overpaid for
Like maybe a OnePlus One or something like that I just what is Fred Van vet my problem with Fred Van vet is when he’s on he’s on right when he’s when he’s in a when he’s Cru cruising and grooving right he’s fantastic but you also have those games where he’s just like nearly
Unplayable right and you’re just like God can can you know the the lack of efficiency at times from him is is very frustrating right but I get it you have this young team with a young core that you’re you’re trying to put the the adults around right you want them kind
Of in the room to learn and grow and develop Dylan Brooks has been actually very good for them this year um so again I I don’t I don’t hate it it’s just one of those things where it’s like what does this look like when you have to
Start paying guys and now you’re you’re crazy over the cap yeah some of these guys like Fred vanite Dylan Brooks guys like that they’ll eventually fall off the books and then you’ll be in position but you’re going to have to start making some tough decisions sooner rather than
Later so we we’ll see how that plays out but nonetheless stay on the positive note uh this team I I just really genuinely enjoy uh watching this team play this team is a lot of fun uh they they just they have this just belief that they’re just going to beat anybody
On any given night and so far far they have been right now look I brought into question during the streak some of the wins right it’s one thing if you’re playing you know the Oklahoma City thund Minnesota timber with things like that and look they have some very notable
Wins but this one I thought was very impressive CU there was multiple times this game where kind of felt like Houston uh was going to be dead in the water there was a couple times where it looked like ah you know the Thunder they’re just going to pull away you know
This was a good this is good run why it lasted even kind of late in the game you’re just kind of like ah okay well nine straight nothing to sneeze at it’s unfortunate the Warriors won but hey maybe maybe they can bounce back and and
Get go on another street but no like all of a sudden you look up and there’s eight seconds left and Houston’s up three and it’s looking like oh no there they might actually win this game it’s unfortunate that uh Thompson ended up missing a free throw because if he makes
Both of those free throws then you you never even have overtime but nonetheless you know credit Jaylen Williams for the huge shot uh to tie the game and send it and force it in overtime the Rockets did have a chance and uh nearly got it uh with Jaylen
Green but speaking of Jaylen green this guy this dude is on an absolute tear right now this guy is just lighting it up he put up 37 points nine rebounds seven assists 14 of 24 from the field 711 from three one block two steals the five turnovers got to take care of the
Basketball a little better but you know I’m not going to get too much on him for that uh you know he was a plus 12 for the team but this kid is just because he is he’s a kid I mean this kid is literally young enough to be drafted in
This year’s upcoming draft and he just he is on he’s just in a zone right now his confidence level is through the roof and look I I’ve talked about this before right like he’s a guy that is playing Just Pure on just Raw Talent adrenaline emotion right he has yet to really learn
And understand the game of basketball to the level that you do when you become a veteran right you see guys you know Kevin Durant right like James Harden like these guys they just they understand it they know how to get their shot without having to overexert
Themselves they know how to how to you know get that second wi Jaylen green is just playing 100 miles an hour like nonstop right he hasn’t even gotten his grown man body in once he starts to to see the court differently and he starts
To really be able to get to his spots at will whenever he wants man he’s he’s going to be he’s going to be special watch out this guy has incredible athleticism he can get after it on both sides of the basketball um just you know and and like you look at the other
Shooting guards in this league there there’s very few like shooting guards like top tier Elite shooting guards like even somebody like say like a Desmond Bane he’s more of like the kind of the Klay Thompson MO rather than like the the Jay like the the high athlete give you the like the
Anthony Edwards mold right to me Anthony Edwards is still the the best shooting guard in the NBA I mean he’s ridiculous Jaylen green man I I don’t want to take anything away from this kid this kid is is doing some special things right now I mean it’s like every game he’s putting
Up you know 30 40 points and just on a tear right now seriously I mean just the last like 10 games gave you 27 1916 okay but then 37 26 42 26 41 27 and 37 the I mean what more could you ask for from this kid he’s doing everything
On both sides of the Court he’s averaging you know just a hair under 20 a game five rebounds three and a half assists I I think as soon as next year like genuinely I think as soon as next year he could be a 25 pointy game guy
Right it’s it’s only his third year right and you’ve seen the strides last year he averaged more last year he was 22 points a game but it was the the lack it was just a lot of shot chucking it was a lack of efficiency at times he’s been much
More efficient this year he he’s you can see the growth and the level of maturity and that is only going to continue to improve he’s only going to continue to grow in that area and as we see him continue to grow as we see him continue to improve um I mean this guy’s
A limit for this kid this he’s he’s going to be special and I’m excited to to watch him grow and develop um know and it’s crazy that again we’re going off a reports so who knows how much is true or not but the fact that there’s even talking conversation about the
Houston Rockets were’re interested in trying to trade for them look I made a whole video about the uh the Brooklyn Nets potential trade I think Brooklyn messed up I mean this kid is I think will at least be an Allstar I mean you could be talk again Talking Top at worst
Five shooting guards in the league in the next few years like genuinely I think he’ll be somebody great and look Mel Bridges is fantastic but yeah where’s Mel as far as like your top players in the league like I think Jaylen green could be your we’ll see
Because again he’s 22 years old but at the rate he’s growing and if he can really develop that shot he could end up being at worst your number two guy on a true Contender right you go get that big man right because a lot of like you look
At the top teams you look at like like Denver you got that big man and then you got that guard that just he can make plays and just go put the ball on the hoop right Jaylen green can be that guy where he can make plays and put the ball
On the hoop you you pair him like again maybe shenon right but this team you just look at it they got just such a nice balance of Youth and Veteran again I I I I I question you know the more so Fred Van vet I just I really don’t like the
Contract they gave him Dylan Brooks still think they kind of overpaid Dylan Brooks but he’s kind of been exactly what they need and I and Fred Van vet is as far as like the the adult in the locker room as far as like you know him
Being able to set guys up and get guys going his ability to play off ball also but I just ah I I don’t know I just feel like he just you just watch some of his games and it’s just like man like he he’s might be the most inefficient and
Inconsistent 40 million a year guy um that there is and look I felt like that in Toronto I didn’t think he was worth a Max in Toronto um you know but he is a guy he can make plays set guys up right he he’s a two-way guy but he just man
There’s just games where you just watch like he regularly has games where he’s like three of 11 or you know five of 20 and you’re just like God I mean he’s had a bunch during this win streak like like the Washington game he three of 11 the
Chicago game three of 11 the the Portland game the other night five of 18 uh the game against OKC five of 12 he was also one of seven from three right like the Portland game he was five of 13 right and then he has like the games
Like yeah like just going through his 10 games right Portland he was he had 18 points five of 13 10 assists solid okay cool not efficiency not super great but okay Sacramento 22 five of eight with nine assists there’s Fred Van let’s go right San Antonio seven of 16 seven rebounds
Seven assists 21 points let’s go Washington 27 points 9 of 14 from the field three rebounds nine assists let’s go five of 15 from the field although 16 assists 13 points it’s like uh and then he has you know follows that up with a seven-point clunker but 11 assists okay
Making again the playmaking he can make the plays he’s a veteran in the locker room I I like Fred Van vet just not at the price right like if it was that kind if it was like the the JJ reic rule know where you got to spend the money so he
Gets like this huge pay raise and I’m sure rocket fans would feel differently right now because he is he is their leader he is an important piece for them I just look at the money he’s making the next three years and I’m just like oh that’s like I just feel like you could
Have you like you could have gotten a different veteran guy right like even just like could you have convinced to find a way to get like a Chris Paul or something right I get the injuries and stuff like that but I also don’t think you’d have to pay him as much
Longterm ideally you know who would have been perfect would have been Mike Conley I think Mike connley would have been just I think he would have done a lot of the same stuff for Van vet would have done but just with a little more efficiency at times but nonetheless
Right I I this is a team that is a lot of fun can they get into the tenth seat is the question right that’s going to be that’s going to be tough for them right can they can they continue this because they’re probably going to have to win
Like you know another handful of games at least to get to where they want to go um but if they can then I think that that would be awesome for them honestly because you know because they are so young and you kind of go through your
Lumps right you you you make the play right as the T SE the next year right like look at the thunder right like thunder they squeak in and then it’s like ah disappointment but oh this year all of a sudden the two SE right like I could see something like that where this
Year maybe they squeak in and then next year it’s like oh wow they’re the sixth or seventh seed right and then the next year it’s like oh wow they’re the four seed then the next year it’s like oh they’re the two seed or the one seed and
You just continue to see those strides you you see Jaylen green continue to make progress and goon continue to make progress right like you see Smith continue to make progress right like all these guys continue to grow and and really head in the proper direction um I
I just I really they’re a lot of fun they really are they’re a fun team to watch like I love watching OKC I love what but that Thunder Rockets game was that was a lot of fun it was just two young teams your future of your NBA just
Battling and I mean battling both teams clearly wanted to win both teams playing for something both teams laying it all out on the floor you get this overtime game and it’s like uhoh did Houston just blow their chance and they just stuck with it they stuck with it and they just
