What Does This Season Mean For Jokic’s Career?

What Does This Season Mean For Jokic’s Career?

The NBA is a big men’s league it always has been at the end of the day they’re closer to the rim that’s why the list of the best centers in league history is full of names that have turned entire franchises around but there’s one player despite sharing a position with these

Legends who understands basketball in a completely different way niik leic continues to do the impossible in fact breaking 50-year-old records has become a simple routine for this season in which he’s averaging 25.9 points 12.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists per game has only one precedent in league history Oscar Robertson in

1962 62 years ago this is just one of the crazy stats you can find on him really how many centers would be above him historically if he manages to win another ring this season yeah we could talk about Will Chamberlain and his absurd averages or Bill Russell’s 11 championship rings or Kareem’s scoring

Ability and Longevity Sha’s power and draw strength or hakeem’s dominance on both ends of the court but the truth is that yic is much closer to that group than we think yic has it clock tick got to pull one up yic for the win so how’s it possible that the most unathletic big

Man in the NBA is dominating the league at will how’s it possible that his play style is revolutionized basketball to the point of us entering a completely new era and where is it right to place yic in a ranking of the best centers in league history well let’s talk about

That you guys like guessing right well let’s compare two different careers of two different players player a has been a two-time NBA champion two-time Finals MVP two-time Defensive Player of the Year and has a regular season MVP on the other hand player B has been NBA champion once Finals MVP once and

Regular season MVP twice well at first glance the answer seems logical but what if player B won another championship with another Finals MVP and another regular season MVP wouldn’t his legacy become OB objectively better well player A’s career is the Milestones achieved by one of the greatest centers in league

History hkim lauan and player B is not surprisingly niik jokic’s career at age 29 if the Serbian manages to win another championship something that seems far from fantasy his track record would be better than that of the Nigerian American and considering that the prime of NBA players comes between the ages of

27 and 32 it seems that yic has a long way to go before calling into a career this current season it’s been business as usual the center continues to dominate the western conference with ease and his February’s been remarkable if you had to choose which stat line

Would you pick maybe a game of 21 points 19 rebounds and 15 assists on 10 of 10 shooting from the field or would you prefer a game of 32 points 16 rebounds 16 assists and four steals or we a 29514 game with 12 of 17 shooting this is only

From February yeah this man’s over here just playing 2K My Career people also seem to have forgotten that the Nuggets posted a record of 16 wins and four losses during the last playoffs the reality is that they’re the team to beat none of their opponents were able to

Stand up to them in a seven game series however there are people who don’t even place them as favorites in the west and yeah we get it the Stacked Clippers and Sons and the young exciting Oklahoma Squad are incredible teams on the rise but the Nuggets besides having the

Experience know exactly what they’re doing however one thing has changed from last year bench players left the Nuggets after the success of last year’s playoffs to get the bag with other franchises and certainly the team’s lost Talent cases such as Bruce Brown signing with Indiana or Jeff Green signing with

Houston have led to increased responsibilities for other players such as pton Watson or vatco kencho like any championship team with a championship coach the culture of the franchise has allowed other secondary players to step up and adapt their game to the needs of the Team One Way or Another the nuggets

Are still the favorites to win the Western Conference and that’s a fact but despite Denver’s dominance against most opponents this success has a specific cause and well it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out the nuggets have a record of eight wins and 15 losses when

Yic hasn’t played since 2021 not only is the center making availability his best ability having missed only 23 games in the last three seasons it’s that the team without him is far from being a winning team it’s true Michael Malone’s system is very good when the Serbian

Available and the truth is that the players around him perfectly complement his style of play Aaron Gordon Jamal Murray mik Porter Jr cavius Caldwell pope all of them with the exception of the Canadian who’s a Bonafide star in his own sense are absolutely Elite role players but it’s clear they need a

Superstar to nurture their game yic is also one of those Superstars that makes his teammates better among all of his records one of the most impressive is the one he achieved just a few weeks ago after the Nuggets 1310 win over the Wizards yic had a triple double and with

That game he became only the third player in league history to post a triple double against all NBA teams yeah it’s just crazy there are 15 teams in the league that he only plays against twice a year and yet he’s been able to dominate against all of them his

All-around game is precisely what allows him to elevate the nuggets as well as allowing him to be one of the most unique players in league history and well this allaround game may be his best asset going forward for the coaches you should that’s not super relevant to an

NBA game but oh how yit with an incredible pass while some centers throughout history have dominated the game with athleticism like Will Chamberlain or Shaquille O’Neal Nicole is dominated with skill and smarts the Serbian one of the players with the highest basketball IQ in the history of

The league and his vision has allowed him to generate advantages throughout his entire NBA Journey the good news his strengths don’t depend on young legs let me explain many athletic players careers end sooner than the rest they take more risks during the game they’re prone to getting injured more by using their

Athleticism think Derrick Rose and in the case of big players their injuries can become chronic more easily for an example there look no further than Greg Odin but fortunately yic should never have this kind of problem it’s true any player in the league can get seriously

Injured in a game all it takes is a bad fall a Bad spin or even a slip but while the possibilities are still there Nica’s grounded game makes it very difficult for these situations to occur with yic it looks more like the problem will be will he have motivation to play in the

NBA until he’s 38 rather than will he be able to play in the NBA until he’s 38 we know the two-time MVP Lakes horses there his greatest passion more than achieving the dream of a 100% of basketball fans around the world no that dream is just

As n to5 i mean until what age could this man play in the league if he sets his sights on it not just all the years he has left of being a superstar barring injury or a move to professional horse racing he’ll continue to dominate for

Least the next 5 years if Boris Dia with a remotely similar play style was a vital piece of the Spurs during their 2012 playoff run and 2013 Championship yic as a role player in the latter part of his career could wreak havoc these role players who base their play on

Their basketball IQ end up finding teams interested automatically Joe Engles on the magic Nicholas Batum on the Sixers there’s plenty of examples I think you have to realize the reality denying jokic’s dominance today was like denying LeBron’s dominance 10 years ago or like denying Steph’s dominance 5 years ago

What we have in front of our eyes is a generational player an anomaly a player who’s way ahead of his time that thanks to the gods of basketball we’ve been able to enjoy in our era and like any player who seems to have arrived from The Future joic Has Changed the game the

NBA is no longer in the era of the three-point Revolution the theory of pace and space and The Disappearance of traditional positions have been partly the work of a Serbian Center who came into the league to turn it upside down the question isn’t whether yic will be

One of the best five centers in NBA history the real question is whether he’ll be the best ever when he retires

  1. He’s talented. One of my favorite players in the league. But he’s playing in an overinflated era that doesn’t play defense. That’s not his fault but it’s still true. He’ll need to achieve more overall to make up for that.

  2. There are only two types of people. Those who know that Jokic is the best ever basketball player and those who will learn that fact with time

  3. The only thing that will prevent him from honestly being the greatest ever is how many seasons he decides to play, and also if Victor when banana can stay healthy at long enough and grow in his game, other than that I really think that joker has that quality, he's not winning any dunk contest, but you want to talk about a player that you can build a team around, I don't think there's a better candidate.

  4. Don’t forget Jokic best game this year 42/12/8/2/2 on 75% shooting from the field. Oh yeah.. also 0 turnovers… insane!

  5. In terms of PEAK ability he’s easily top 10 all time. He’s miles ahead of the next best players in the league.

    Best player since prime Kobe.

  6. A Nuggets championship would make these last two years eerily similar to 94-95 for Hakeem. Two chips, two Finals MVP, one MVP and another 2nd place finish to the other dominant center in the league. Doing it with no other all stars.

Yes, Hakeem has a full career, is block champ, the DPOYs, and the two way dominance. But Jokic has two more MVPs, is slowly overtaking him as the most skilled center, and has the stats/impact/playmaking in his favor.

A win for the Nuggets could propel Jokic ahead of Shaq and Hakeem into the top 10 if the playoff run is dominant enough.

  7. People keep building "Top 10" lists when they become more and more difficult each year. In 1985, the Top 5 centers were easy to pick: Russell, Chamberlain, Moses Malone, Kareem, and Robert Parish. In 2024, it's a bit harder. In 1984, the top 10 players of all time were easy to pick: Russell, Bird, Magic, Kareem, Dr. J, Oscar Roberton, Chamberlain, Jerry West, Moses Malone, and Elgin Baylor. But guess who came into the League that very year? Hakeem and Jordan. The longer the league goes on, the more players you have to judge, and the tougher the top 10 lists get.

  8. Jokić loves playing basketball, he just doesn’t care for the fame and limelight.

Where this narrative that he doesn’t care or like basketball came from is baffling

  9. This man said Lebron’s dominance instead of Kobe’s.

Lebron was Kobe’s bitch until Kobe tore his ACL

  10. I'd say something about unathletic: centers like AD, Ayton, KAT, or Embiid would have zero chances against Jokic in a strongman situation… He's simply stronger, sprinting and jumping is NOT the only athleticism

  11. Okay this list of the best ever needs to stop,, the season isn't even done and he's not yet played against any great centerrs like these other centers have all these other centers have had somebody else or at least a few of the centers that could at least keep them in check your point is a moot point, as he should not be ranked as the best until we get some centers that are in the league that are able to give him the competition,, no he's not the greatest yet he is a great center with very few if any centers in this new run and gun league.
Plus every one of these teams have aligned themselves with the new running strategy everybody's gone away from the center they happen to pick up a good center now we're telling him he's the best when he isn't even playing against teams that are structured for a center so let's quit this until we get back to center-based Teams

  12. If Jokic win the ring this year, he will be a top 15 all time and the 6th or 7th best center (some will rank him above Olajuwon and others don't).
He will need at least a third one to be in the Oneal-Mikan circle but there's a fair chance that happened.

  13. Hakeem won 2 rings when Jordan stopped playing due his father death. Otherwise he would have 0 rings

  14. Look man rn Jokic is probably cracking top 20 but what happens when he repeats this year?? What happens when we’re a few years down the line when he has 2+ chips, 2+ finals mvps, 3+ mvps, the top of the triple double leader board, the most offensively efficient player of all time and a top 3-5 passer of the basketball. Thats a top 10 resume 🤷

  15. The Nuggets seem to be very capable of getting a 2-peat championship. After that, we're gonna start talking about 3-peats.
And as soon as we're talking 3-peats, Jokic should very easily be top 10 players all time, if not top 5.

  16. Every period has great players….. is difficult to say who is the best , if you think athletics is impossible to say if Carl Lewis is better then Owens… obviously Jokic for me is one of the best big man of the last 20 years(only after Tim Duncan), now my favourite nba player

  17. He’s in the discussion. But u can’t say he’s the best. He does things no center has ever done. But if you’re a GM, r u taking him over Shaq? Hakeem? Kareem?

  18. If Jokic wins 2 more championships along with another season MVP. He is definitely considered one of the best big men ever.

  19. I watched Kareem at the end of his career, Hakeem and Shaq at the heights of their careers – I am a massive Hakeem fan. Offensively, Jokic is above and beyond all of them.

  20. I don't mind if Jokic wins another championship + Finals mvp he has the fundamental form of Tim Duncan, with a Shooting Stroke like Dirk Nowitzki, a low post move like Kareem, and a Passing IQ with a Basketball IQ like Magic Johnson.

  21. I really don’t think he revolutionized the game. It’s down straight perfecting the basic “fundamental”. Less is more as they say he moves with purpose always, efficiency at its best.

  22. Jokic will retire with the most assists in a career and in a season by a center; as well as power forward, and it won’t even be close.

The greatest basketball IQ for team play for the center position that we have ever seen.

  23. I did not like the 3 shooters Teams and i am so happy to see the Nuggets! It is a pleasure to watch that Team. Thank you to all the Players and Coach! 1-2-3 Family

  24. What is a big problem right now are the referees!!! Travelling? They forgot what that is really hard to watch at times! Here in EU it is another beast!
NBA want's Showtime and Score first! I mean i like it i love the NBA but we have to talk about those bad bad Refs!!!

  25. Wilt is the best of all time. He blocked KAJ sky hook. Joker is great. Wilt would have ran right passed him. He was faster than Lebron.

  26. What if you don't care whatever anyone says and you just suit what you do?
You won't care of critiques, numbers, achievents or race. It's a game to win
….now look up what Joker earnes for this mentality and talent
